Where did FLG backfill its roster from? Will it still be an A team?

It will be called an A team. But as the top girls from each team move to the stronger club all the 2nd teams get worse. This is when the B (C and D for Jesters) become nothing more than a cash cow for the club. Those teams get so so coaching and enter crappy tournaments.

Why would anyone think the jesters Blue- B teams are above any other B team. The 27’s are ranked in the 90’s. The 28’s are ranked in the 130’s which is significantly lower than many B teams who’s club only has 2 teams not 4 like the jesters!

Hoping there is more of a focus on developing these Blue teams… they now have Blue teams for:

2026
2027
2028
2029
2030

2 or 3 of these are new I believe. YJ B teams are typically better than average and given that some of these years are bigger classes than most, would think that a few of these blue teams would be good. I can see the argument of Jesters being a cash cow given the amount of teams… but can also see the argument, maybe I’m being optimistic, of them developing girls on Blue to move to Black ( and white, pink to blue and black. Think they are trending upward… so much so that girls from lax towns have made the move… hopefully they don’t fumble some of the goodwill they seem to be building.

LOL. Lost 3-2 to the YJ and beat Aces in 2022. Now they have the goalie. From what I heard the one that never should have left in the first place.

Who did jesters get from flg other than goalie? Positionally

Why did so many leave flg? Top 15 team, small roster, lots of playing time. Doesn’t make sense.

Pretty simple. They don't play in big recruiting tourneys -- Chesapeake, Lax For the Cure, G8, Summer Genesis, etc.. Surprised it took this long.

The problem with Jesters Blue teams (and top guns purple) is that they play in the lowest possible division in tourneys. usually blow out glorified rec teams then lose 8-0 in playoffs to the #1 seed in a 20 minute game.

If Jesters was smart, they would play these division in more competitive division to let the girls get exposed to better competition.

On Liberty dad. Hope you got it in writing how much playing time your star will get. She may not be the star on Jesters. I am sure the liberty parents are happy to see her go.

So anyone have a guess to what will happen to the Liberty teams with the buyout? $3200-$3700 sounds like alot to pay going into some uncertainty with new owners. What, if anything, have people been told/reassured? Recruiting year not to far away. What will Danielle G's involvement be moving forward?

They aren’t investing in developing teams that are ranked 90 or 120. These teams will never get into a competitive division. Kids can find a team to play on in college from one of these teams if they want to but it won’t be a high D1 program. Evaluate what you are hoping to get out of it. Will be interesting if they demoted girls on the blue team. If your kid didn’t play much last year and they picked up talent this year prepare for your daughter to ride the bench!

most kids don’t want the high end D1 exposure that these so called elite clubs are chasing, most just want to be kids, not spending every weekend in June and July on the field. Many great players will decide D2, D3, lower D1, club or not to play in college, this is reality. If the team is a good fit, stop focusing on the club rankings and focus on your daughters happiness/development, these are critical years. The parents want this more than the kid for their ego, these fool parents know who they are.

Black, Blue, Purple, A, B, C…. Go tell the 2nd Yellow Jackets team that they are a B team, they will beat most easily. I’d guess Top Guns and Jesters pushing for similar success with their 2nd teams.

[quote=Anonymous]Players liked coach. Club replaced coach.

Regardless if all, many, or some of the players liked the coach that coach and style of play was doing a disservice to the players and a D2 college coach was called on as the replacement which was a good move for those on the outside looking in. There must be some other reasons including not playing in a majority of the important recruiting tournaments.

Yes, but recruiting starts in 2 years. If your daughters goal is to play in college then they should be on a team with good training and coaches. They shouldn’t be riding the bench.

I’m told a few girls on FLG loved the coach however others really disliked her. The coach had a huge almost unprofessional problem with favoritism. Most girls left because they weren’t winning, they were in top tournaments and brackets but in the last two tournaments they went 1-3 in both tournaments.

YJA-- Pretty much status quo, will still be the team to beat on LI and top 5 nationally.
Jesters Black -- biggest winners probably, lots of good pickups, definite a top 2 team going forward; will be interested to see how some new additions fit into their scheme, especially those who have never played zone before
Top Guns -- Picked up a few nice girls from Liberty, Tradition, YJB; probably the 3 club going forward
Liberty -- picked up some nice girls, probably best of best
YJB -- lost best player, but pretty much the same team.
FLG -- biggest lost by far; picked a couple liberty girls but didn't come close to closing the gap, probably won't even be top 40 next year
Tradition -- lost some top talent , definitely a net lost.
Jesters Blue -- definitely a winner. not sure how high is high, but petty much turned over 75% of roster. has potential to be top 40-50 nationally

You do realize that before a girl accepts an offer on a new team, the girls and parents talk amongst themselves to see who will be there, who is leaving, etc.

I may have missed some moves, but feeling like the summary above is pretty on the money.

Person above predicting ranking, amazing skills. Expert above is curious how new Jesters Black girls fit into their zone…. Lol… How about they picked up great players that will improve the team, let’s assume they know how to play zone if that’s they D played. FLG picked up more than a few Liberty girls, the expert above though knows all the talent and said it won’t be enough to close the gap….. Expert above says YJB lost their best player but the same team?? Ok. Tradition net loss, well yeah of course; Jesters Blue 75% turn? They have the roster? Look forward to hearing more from the 2027 Girls expert

Jesters is a real good team, esp defense with their zone certainly messes up offense, but imo their biggest need was more offensive weapons.

Picked up FLG’s best players also. Going to be a difficult squad to coach. Parents counting the minutes of playing time on the sideline for sure.

So how many of last seasons jesters black got cut or moved to a different club? Sounds like they are a team of rockstars. Parents and new star players will not be happy with playing time if they didn’t get rid of a lot of the original team? From these comments it sounds like they added 10 new superstars

I'm a YJ parent , but Jesters have a great coach. probably best on LI at this age group. Understands the game, treats girls well and most importantly doesn't take [Censored] from anyone.

Believe me, the first parent to complain about playing time will likely see their daughter on the bench for some time.

They will likely make sure everyone plays in 2 years during recruiting, however, next year there will definitely be some girls, including new ones, on the outside looking in.
