I just prefer to travel for a few reason (a) team trips are part of the experience and the kids love them and (b) playing the same teams each week gets old fast.

I dont enjoy going away 3,4 weekends in the summer . Hotels , Tolls , Fuel meals and sitvon Sunday evening traffic . JMO

Two respectful and insightful responses. Long Island has more clubs that any other area. The talent is spread all over. 91 and Express definitely have the deepest rosters. Find a spot that works for your family. Express and 91 also travel more than others however, Igloo, Legacy, Rush and Rebels also have a handful of away tournaments each year. Playing time is the most important factor followed by coaching, cost and overall club culture. If your kid is playing most of the time and has improved each year then you most likely should stay put. The level of competition must also be a consideration. There are 5 or 6 teams that play at the highest level for the most part. It is about the experience for your child and family. There is no perfect scenario only what works for your kid. If he has a smile on his face and is improving then you are in a good spot. Best of luck finding the right club. Bottom line is they are all Big Time Businesses!

The smile is super important!!
Also worth noting before high school there is limited benefit to traveling. If your son is interested in playing college lacrosse it will become more important to travel to where the coaches are. I am not from LI but I really like the East Coast Elite model. My 2026 son team played them this summer. They had some really good players including 2 solid goalies.

They might have the ideal model if tweeted. Don’t travel until HS years, or limited travel to like one Yale or Jersey tourneys.

Legacy took a hit this year, lost a couple of starters to express. A lot of kids bailed on the Rebels too.

Venom added a couple (lost a few) - stayed as top LI Team. No major upgrades or losses.
Express- lost 2 top kids, added a few- downgrade
Legacy- lost a few, added a few- stay same or downgrade
Rush- added a few - slight upgrade
Rebels- lost a handful of starters, added some but not sure what or who- same or downgrade
S2S- took a hit supposedly- some to Rebels most likely w the coach Isaac moving.
Igloo- stays same and solid
BTB- added a few- upgrade

It’s a good effort but def not in tune with reality. S2S def upgraded, they will place behind Venom and Express next season. The rest are all in the same bucket. Igloo is bad, solid is the wrong word.

Venom
Express

Shore
Legacy
GC Rams

Rush
Surge
Rebels
Igloo
BTB

S2S has been close for a while. Son competed against them several times. They always seemed to be missing just a few key components to truly be considered an upper crust team. For their sake I hope they get there. Only makes the competition on LI that much better.

Off the mark from what I’m hearing

Seems like a vailed attempt to disrespect someone or several. Made me chuckle though

Kids move each year at every age group. Seems 91 may have imp Slightly. Express took a big hit and step backwards. The others all added and lost a few.

I know everyone keeps saying that and yes some kids will grow, develop, surprise. But the best kids today are still going to be very good in 3-4 years.

If they were supplemental then I suspect are they just looking for players to fill B teams. Seemingly like every other supplemental.

Any word on the CT / Westchester teams?

2 Way- always solid and should get better as we get closer to HS as this team feeds Brunswick.
Express North- Have to imagine that being World Series Champs helped them at tryouts / made it hard for their best players to leave.
Eclipse- Always good but seemed to fall off a bit towards the end of the year.
Primetime- Definitely got better towards the end of the year.
Preds- Only know they have a bunch of reclass kids and still didn't do very well.
