You guys say this every year. With the coaching change I’m sure FLG will be even better than before. When watching then I always thought their coaching was holding them back .

Correct. Current coach top 15. New coach rank over 102. Makes complete sense.

Regardless of the quality of the coach, a coaching change at this point in the season rarely helps and hurts more often than not.

Let's be honest, at this point in the season for any high level team, there is very limited "coaching" going on. Teams aren't putting in new offenses or changing strategy. Player development isn't really happening either.

The only adjustments that can be made are changes in substitution patterns. And anyone who has watched FLG play know that isn't their issue -- their best players are almost always on the field.

From what I've seen their biggest challenge is patience on both ends of the field -- not fouling when not necessarily on defense and not trying to always push it on offense. Improvement in those areas come with experience and lots of game action, I don't think a panic change at coaching will help.

Maybe the new coach will have a big impact, but if so, it likely won't happened until September/October.

I walked by one of their Lax for the cure games and watched about 5 minutes. Something is clearly wrong beyond the play. Looks like a majority of those girls didn't watch to be there and there was zero energy. (Keep in mind this was 8 minutes into a game where they were still competitive)

Hope FLG gets it together, when they play it looks like something is off . I would like to see three top LI teams in HS.

Big issue with them the past 2 years and not many if any outsiders know is that a few of their top players play with the 2024 team in the same tournament weekend and they don’t have the energy to play after playing in consecutive and double the amount of games with heavy minutes. That’s the real back story with that team. Hurts the current team and girls as well as parents with wasted expenses to try and help a few 24’s who haven’t committed yet.

Next year it won’t be a problem. There are many talented girls on the team. I could definitely see then getting better.But also if they loose a few of their good players it would be very bad because their bench is weak. Hopefully They stay together.

Empire doesn’t allow double rostering.

This is wrong I think their old coach has been with them for every tournament/game this year, the new one only came in AFTER summer Genesis.

Not sure why they would stay, they can move to clubs that will get them recruited.

FLG Navy now entering lower brackets in MD Cup. Something must be wrong over there. Didn’t show well in a soft Hershey tournament and now finish their season in a B/C bracket?

MD CUP Schedule is out and there only appears to be on Bracket with YJ A and B teams listed. FLG has a team entered as "FLG ALL LONG ISLAND" possibly a combo team of FLG NAVY and Elevates better players

Lots of teams traveling to Maryland. And hardly any Maryland teams? Am I missing something?

Other than YJ, no top teams committed? Disappointing

That's interesting because at the 25 and 26 levels, the MD Cup field is much strong.

Also 5 brackets and only 4 teams make playoffs. Not sure how that will work.

To be fair, with 3 tourneys in 8 days, YJ could end up playing 16 games in that time. Those girls will be fried by Maryland Cup, especially if starters are getting 90% of minutes at G8 and Youth Nationals.

Mid Atlantic same week has Jesters plus M&D Black, Eagle Stix, FL Select and Aces. Way, way better. YJA needs the challenge if they’re gonna travel this far!

FLG ALL LONG ISLAND team is not a combo it’s the same roster from every tournament this year, elevate doesn’t even have a 2027 team.

So why the new name for FLG and why play in softer brackets?

OK, However they are not listed by US Club Lacrosse so whatever games they have played in Tournaments have not been entered. what Tournaments have they played in.

Elevate lost all their better players to Jesters a few years ago, since then they have had a 26/27 combo team with mostly 26s

Yes don't know how its going to work either.
There are 34 Teams entered 17 in the top 100 and 17 above the 100 ranking w/ 7 YJ teams entered.
The groupings are set up pretty much by rankings 4 - 30, 14 - 58, 49 - 120, 101 -168 and 107 and up

If they just flipped FLG and Top Guns, no one would be complaining about the brackets. As It is right now, FLG probably has an even easier path to playoffs then YJ

Why wouldn’t 14 be with 4-30 group? Who is 14?

FLG Navy is FLG All Long Island they are the same team and the games they play will still be put under FLG Navy on Us Club Lax and there are no new girls.

What I don't understand is why so many clubs send their recruiting age teams to MD Cup, but younger teams to Mid Atlantic.
