Thanks for clarifying, now stop calling them rankings and letting kids have a false sense of reality based on your social media hype train.

If they aren’t rankings then promote whah they are instead of the false narrative. But you won’t because again, you’re in bed with the nationals and the true’s of the world.

Sad when parents care more about this than their kids.

I believe that’s the 1st time 91 lost to Laxachusetts in a chip game.Real poles make a difference.

Kind of a joke looking at 91 playing one decent team on day one and destroying two B teams.

Kinda shameful to see them so clearly willing to sand bag it. The real championship game took place at 10. Kudos to Laxachusettes for rebounding from their day one loss to hawks.

On more relevant subject to LI Lax specificly it appears to me not much has changed on LI. 91 still beating everyone, Igloo seems to have improved after beating LI Ex (again) bottom line its prob 91/Igloo on LI and the everyone else with a slight nod to LI Ex above others. As said earlier in the year until Express proves they can beat either 91/Igloo consistently they are just another club with a bloated roster. As far as rankings across the nation it will never be a truly debatable situation as the math is only as strong as the inputs and due to disparity among talent levels in different states it will always be impossible to rank anything outside of maybe top 10.

This is exactly what makes it all so pathetic, who actually cares, a very good portion of these kids won’t even be playing in a few years, all because their dads made it a miserable time.

What word would you prefer they use instead of "ranking"? It's a simple formula to give people a general idea where the teams stand relative to each other. This is useful for teams when selecting tournaments, tournaments when seeding teams, and parents when looking for a different opportunity for their kid. Nobody should get too worked up about it.

Dude. Something isn’t right when teams who haven’t played in months jump teams who have and are winning. The system rewards playing lower level teams and running up the score.

Nations best shouldn’t move up over hawks after losing to nationals by 8 considering hawks beat nationals.

Jm3 shouldn’t jump over next level who had a great spring, beat hawks once and lost to hawks.

National teams will dominate the rankings even if they haven’t beaten anyone who is relevant. All Because they ply each other and one of them played a good regional team…so even losing to that regional team gives them a better ranking.

Not to mention there are kids playing for 2 or even three national teams (there are several nationals kids who also ply for nations best, and Jm3).

This means that on any given weekend you might see a top ten team, or a stripped down guest player team.

But they know how to work the system.

You ask why people get worked up? Because children see these things and don’t get it. They are children. But their parents and coaches are left trying to explain how a team who lost to their team twice in a month still gets to be ranked above them. And brag about it. They are kidddsss

Get a clue. Make it real or get rid of it.

You make some good points but the key point is that it's just a simple formula. There is no feasible way to have anything other than that. If it was my formula I'd make W/L be worth extra relative to goal-differential. I'd also cap goal differential at something like 6 or 8 instead of 10. But even with small tweaks there isn't enough overlap of schedules for any ranking to be very accurate. I have no idea how you'd account for "national" teams with their flexible rosters and schedules.

Bottom line is you gotta keep it in perspective. If this bothers you so much you want the website shutdown then you're not going to enjoy your kids experience because there are a mountain of other perceived injustices awaiting you.

Seems like ranking national teams separately would be a defect start. And agree that head to head should hold more weight.

I think in concept of it was just called power ratings or something and marketing what it’s really for would be better.

Poster above could not be more right. Stop worrying about other teams or other kids. Just focus on you and know life is never fair. I have my kid play up and never worry if another is holding back or nonsense like that.Sooner a kid knows life is not fair the better he is going to do. Work hard and love the game.

Yeah, all these little kids should realize that lacrosse is not just a game that’s supposed to be fun! They need to realize it’s an outlet for their non-athlete dads to rank and rate them. What a clown show.

I think that’s the point here. The rankings are so bad in general that they should either fix it to at least make them appear to be realistic or they should get rid of it.

The kids care more about it then they should and ultimately that isn’t healthy for them or the game.

The pressure these kids have on them to perform is already fool for 12 year olds, throw in the non ranking rankings that every club markets and exploits as gospel and you have a recipe for a bunch of burnt out kids who resent the sport

I think the solution is to block their website on your wifi router. That way you can protect your delicate flower 12 year old from the horrible injustices of the world.

I believe the ranking system is the same as the NCAA so it is hard to game the system by beating lower ranked teams; it in fact actually hurts them to have a weak schedule as this ranking system does take into account the strength of schedule

Hawks or Madlax will take NAL this weekend. No other team will compete with them and especially after Hawks surprising loss to Lax Black in NLF. Only LI team to advance far will be 91 due to once again favorable placement but will get manhandled again by another non-LI club.

So 91 sets the schedule at the NAL now?

Was thinking the same thing. They appear to be a very good squad. While they did lose to madlax once as well I think. It appears they knew how to rebound.

Those west coast/central national teams often carry very old kids too. And while that may change things next year, this year it’s still free game.

Should be interesting to see what winner bracket they end up in. Hawks or madlax. I’m sure madlax is hoping for hawks!

Surprise surprise.Look like the older hold back teams are not as near dominant as they should in the “2029” group! Good for LI playing tuff. The teams from everywhere else letting 13-14 year olds run with 11-12 year olds are pathetic.Parents must be proud!

Who had 13/14 year olds on their team? Put your name next to your inside information so you can be proud poster.

What bothers you more? Holdbacks or recruiting non team members to show up for games? A lot of different helmets and practice pennies on plenty of teams this weekend, how did that work out for those teams?

And most if not all other non LI teams use older kids. That is why when it comes to the World Series you can not compete. You are letting your players play against younger players. That is pathetic. And the fact that you are losing and barely winning makes it even more pathetic !

I didn’t see too many kids in this age/grade group this weekend that i thought, oh look that’s a holdback. 1 that i can think of no doubt, but beyond that, i really don’t think so. Kids have started to grow and most teams had some big kids playing pole.

I think it was a good competitive weekend. Hawks earned their crown no doubt about it. They are #1.

Oh trust me, I saw plenty of kids who are clearly significant holdbacks. 12 year olds don’t have voice changes and aren’t filled out like the ones I saw. Yes you can get some big 13 year olds but when you look at their face and body you can tell they are just tall.

3D NE had a couple For sure. Last week at NLF Laxachusettes definitely had at least one (verified) who was a significant contributor.

Credit to madlax, hawks, and 91 who do not appear to have anything like that rolling out on the field.

I didn’t make false accusations about kids ages!! Who cares about the joke of a rebranded World Series tournament held in the same area as all the other tournaments, not the world.
1) Don’t have qualifiers during the worlds greatest leagues regular season. It’s done on purpose.
2) Do something to make sure a “team that plays together year round” has the same chance as an “patch n play all star team with in 100 miles”. There are a lot more possibilities to find your so called on age players when 50,000 kids live in 1 neighborhood.
3)Not worth the money and more importantly time involved for a youth lacrosse tournament. I’d rather take my family skiing during qualifiers and to the beach during the tournament.

Your excuses for not wanting to attend the World Series are weak

Anyone who’s attended a previous World Series had an amazing and unforgettable experience.

Don’t come and do not worry your entire family won’t be missed at all.

What clowns the 91 LI coaches are. They stood 10 yards onto the field and even crossed the midline in front of the opposing bench at times during NAL. Can’t help but think it’s an ego thing to try to intimidate/disrespect the opponent (and refs, who are reluctant to say anything). Respect the game and your opponents. You’re not that good.

It’s supposed to be a warning and then a penalty. Or straight to penalty if it’s as absurd as it was last weekend. Coaches are allowed a bit of leeway for a few yards in front of their own bench, I get it. Glad they went down to Annapolis. Classier team and coaching staff there.

Sensitive Sally! You should have handled it when it occurred.

Saw the same thing at tristar. Coaches on the field, across midline, in front of opposing benches impeding subs and just being jackhats. Won't name teams but there are some terrible coaches (and parents). Let your players plays fellas. And to the dads: let the coaches coach, nobody wants to hear you shout "LIFT!" 1000 times per quarter....
