Use this thread to discuss lacrosse pertaining to 6th Grade Boys (2029 Grads) for the Fall 2022/Summer 2023 Season.
Reposting last post from previous SY:

best is subjective at this age , yes there a few clear cut, yes there is situational play, no I agree this is not a 'participation trophy league" nor am I a fan of it, the response was to the post. my point to the post is this let the kid tryout for whomever he wants, but be aware of what he is stepping into, because at this age reps and playing time matter for his growth. And if your offended by the truth of what happens at these organizations maybe you need to step back and look at the whole picture. Dont get caught up with the name or nonsense put the kid in the best situation to succeed if its his passion.
Anyone know anything about Turtles? I’m told they are putting together a 29 team new this year ?
Turtles are extinct

Stay away from the Rebels def look into Express East .
Why stay away from rebels. Excellent high school coach. E3, empire m, legacy and new kids. 60 at tryouts, and employee staff of 18. The new top club on island.

Keep telling youself that
BTB is having tryouts this week
Key guys leaving 91 Pride for Igloo and other teams.
Saw the helmets at tryouts along with the parents.Should be an interesting year.Igloo I believe took their starting middy.
does it matter? one kid doesn't make a team, or hurt a team 91 if they loose kids will always tend to replace them, all the Li teams are chasing 91 currently. No I dont have a kid on the team. What I am really fascinated by at this age is the fascination with playing for a 91, express or an igloo. Why does everyone get tunnel vision when it comes to these 3. Isn't about player development at this age? of the 3 how do you rank player development . At the end of the day I would hope a parent puts more focus on that then just the badge of an organization.
He actually was a second line middie but a very good player. He will be replaced with another talented player. Isn’t this how travel works? Question is does anyone know why he left????
I’m sure he and his parents do but everyone else here will only speculate
True Facts - aside from those at Igloo and Express, Venom keeping a player from them, and others left for PA and one for Europe. Team will be in B tournaments next year and 91 won’t have a 2029 team qualify the following year for WS. Team is in shambles……..
Very weak tryouts for 91
If they’re returning most players I’m sure they’ll be just fine
Kid was a starter not a second line player and from what tryouts are looking like he will not be replaced so easily. He will be missed and was a big part of our team.No other single player has left the team.
That’s not true. Other players have left this year.
Many key players including that middie left. That middie was a very high IQ player.
Where did they go?
Please enlighten us all who the other key players besides the middie who left for Igloo are. And the teams they went to.
You guys realize your kids are ten? Relax. Play golf. You guys are gonna have a aneurism by the time your kid hits high school.
Rumor has Express will have 4 teams for 2029? Looks like all registered for tryouts got an invite. Is this true?
There are no “key” players, they are 11 yrs old. Sorry but your kids are replaceable on the top clubs. Plenty of good players out there ready to take those spots.Such is life.
Of course there are “key” players at every age group!
3 unless that has changed since the tryouts wrapped up…. Not a bad business
Is anyone aware of any clubs that will be having tryouts in August in the tristate area? We live in NYC but are willing to travel and are looking for a strong development program.
No key players?Every team at every age has key players.Regardless of the relevance.Yes,key players might change as kids get older etc but every team has key players. Each of the top 5 2029 teams has a handful of kids that stand out. Those are the key players and this kid was one of them for the 91 Pride team.Definitely not the kid that carried the team but
absolutely a big contributor. Now is he replaceable? The verdict is still out.But Igloo received a good lacrosse player.

Igloo received a very good player and with that should be ranked slightly ahead of 91. Igloo lost twice late in the championship after having the lead all game and now you subtract that key player from Pride and add him to Igloo…….
Igloo is done as organization, lost over 82 kids to the Rebels
Rank the teams any way you want that makes you feel good and helps you sleep at night.
Fake news about Igloo losing kids to Rebels! Igloo will be a top club as it has consistently over the years.
I'm pretty sure the Rebels comments are meant as a joke.
Rebels added 7-9 very very good players at 2029. From all clubs. By the way iglioo is melting. Younger ages lost 50 plus kids to rebels, that’s what happens when owner could care less.
ha, maybe they were not joking. I honestly can't tell if this person is serious or not (they are not correct, but no idea if it's a joke anymore).
There is a Rebels propagandist on every BOTC age forum.
1000%.
For those shopping for clubs, do take that into consideration.
Rebels improved both 29 teams, retention rate for all ages off the charts.
I wonder if the rebels propagandist that posts in every age group realizes that his antics turn much more away that they attract. Their young age groups are strong, but anything older than this age group is no where near the top teams in their age groups, and they keep adding teams….. I’m certain most of their top teams per age group should have proper coaching (not 20 something’s just filling in coaching spots). A few years ago their 2028 team was strong, but their not even top 5 on the island anymore
Rebels Director of Propaganda is working OT
What’s going on in a Maryland, Rebels are now there too?
Yes, they are in Maryland as I believe they took over or merged with MDX or something. Not a fan of the club but they are expanding and use social media to their benefit better than most. Their problem in my opinion is they considered an upper tier club i.e., non NLF club.
Club costs lets hear them folks . Don't be shy !!
Please share some club cost prices
If you have to ask you can’t afford it.
Now that tryouts are essentially done, the biggest winners and which will be both vastly improved is Express and Igloo. 91 is the biggest lost of talent and didn’t pick up any.
91 beat everyone on the Island. Why would they need to pick up anyone? If anything they had too many on the sideline.
Express lost a bunch of kids
Great marketing response 91 Dad or Coach!
Why would anyone go to 91? 8 coaches ,8 coaches kids are starters. They try and run everything through their own kids.
The 91 model has worked for several years now and quite successfully for almost every player on every “A” team. Even if a team has multiple parent coaches, the team roster has a majority of non coaches players who end up getting into a good college situation.

To the contrary I have heard many 91 parents complain about Dad coaches and their kids getting more playing time than they deserve. All the top clubs have kids that go to good colleges, difference is not all of those teams have Dad coaches. I personally wouldn’t want my kid’s playing time to be dependent on a coach who is choosing between my son and his son. These guys aren’t coaching to get free travel tuition, they are coaching to help control their kids future.
Spot on! 91 is the club to stay away from !!

It’s still working. You can’t name any of the “top clubs” that beat 91 on the regular at any age group besides 2026. And looking at the ‘23 commits on the 91 page, are you telling me there are 28 dad coaches?
I thought MADLAX was the club to stay away from?
Someone is drinking the 91 cool-aid. This is the Dad that wears his 91 T Shirt everywhere he goes until they recruit a kid to replace his.
Rare has been the case that 91 shelved a talented kid and played a non talented coaches kid instead. Most who have left the program drank their own kool aid believing their child is the next Rabil, Panell, etc.. Can’t find too many top players over the years that left 91 and blossomed on another travel club.

Thanks Dad coach but we know better.
91 lost top players at almost every age group this year.If you look at the teams, most coaches have their kids starting and or are trying to put them in situations to be successful.Plenty have left 91 to go and have great success. The motto is to build around the coaches kids with situational role players. Some accept these positions and the ones that leave do not.But make no mistake that if you go down the list you will find that almost all 91 teams coaches kids are the names of the team if you will.So I guess that is just a coincidence? That almost all of the 91 teams have coaches kid dominating playing time?
Mad lax and Hawks own 91 Pride. So the 26 and the 29 teams.
And Wolfpack is not what it used to be.Legacy Taz runs the 24s.
So 91 did not win the 28 NLF 29NLF not sure about the other ages but what is this 91 daddy or daddy coach talking about.
2way owns Venom Mad lax and Hawks own Pride and Taz own Wolfpack that’s 3 right there that beat the 91 teams on the regular!

Talking LI teams here buddy.

You want to talk national, no one program rules the day.

It’s not Hawks and Madlax parents coming here talking stay away from 91, dad coaches, teams falling apart, key players etc. It’s bitter LI parents from other organizations.

29 hawks are like 10-3 all time against madlax and 5-2 last year. Two losses last year after losing their best middie who also happens to be probably the best faceoff man in the country.

I’m hearing hawks picked up another student middie this week and a defender. Gap getting bigger

I’d acknowledge there are alot of parents across this sport that have a very unrealistic view of their own child’s abilities. Just because little Mikey drops in 50 goals at PAL, it doesn’t mean he’s a game changer on the top levels of travel competition.
Would you agree that coaches have a very unrealistic view of their child’s ability as well? Because that seems to be more of the issue. Its everyone that has seen them take the field with 6-10 coaches at a time all who have players on the team. It seems you are either a parent or more likely a coach. With that said how can you argue that key players leaving your team that were contributors are not going to make the teams they went to better?
If they were good for your team they will not be good for another? This seems to be exactly the reason people dislike or leave the program. People like yourself need to look in the mirror and worry about how others are viewing your actions instead of judging. Does anyone know how many of the coaches players start?
Icon is looking for players at 2029 age group.

All of the coaches son’s start, that’s why they coach.

Actually if little Mikey drops 50 Goals in PAL I would bet he’s a game changer in travel too!

Ha was going to say the same thing!!
Sounds like we have a jealous bitter 91 lax daddy on the thread!I bet his kid dominates in game minutes, does not attend every practice and then accuses parents who call out their BS bitter ex 91 people! It’s what they do.
Not true at all. I’d love to know how “Mikey” produces in championship games. Zeros across board I’m guessing.
That’s probably because Mickey is not a coaches kid and doesn’t get to many minutes in chip games.91 attack men are all daddy ball coaches kids who do not come off the field and yup you guessed it.Get shut down against top comp regularly.Kids that play the whole game or games and produce 0 points and turn the ball over consistently but get to do what they want because daddy is a 91 coach is way worse then a kid that scores 0 points with 8 mins of play time.
Keep plugging away Mikey, we love you Bro!!
Very strange comment. Must be gossip or someone stirring the pot as there is only 1 attacker on 91 who’s dad is a coach.
For the record and just so we are all clear…. Has 91 Pride ever lost a game to another LI team?

To that point, I’m wondering how do these parents become coaches? Is it their credentials or is it because their kids are good and they just become coaches? Just wondering

1 kid left Pride, not a major issue.
3 kids left Pride. Not 1.Pride also allowed Expresses FOGO to join the team mid season last year and he left before the last tournament because of the daddy ball.

I'm also curious about them. They have a couple of PLL players that have taken over the program and what I have heard so far has been positive.
Hello, I am the father of the 91 player that switched to Igloo.I was made aware of this forum discussion a couple of days ago and am getting some time to really set some things straight because some of the discussion in previous days have been about my son. These kids are 11 years old.Let them enjoy their rides. It’s great that we get to be a part of something competitive and fun but please let’s just leave it at that.I can say that peoples comments about 91 are horribly off and it is a great organization.I have another son that plays Igloo and for us as a family and for my son as a player we just felt it was a better fit.We left on great terms and all these fool comments can not be further from the truth about the coaches there.I can not believe I am posting in here but after I was notified about all that was being posted I just felt it was a good idea to clear the air a little.Anyways best of luck to all and let’s let the boys enjoy their rides because as we all know it’s a short one.

Well said. You seem like a well adjusted person, which is nice. Good luck to your family.
In response to that new Igloo father, your statement was very well and clearly set forth.

Just to add to it, irrespective of whether the player is younger than, equal to, or greater than 11, this and other BOTC forums should not be to bash other players, parents, coaches, or organizations. Those who do and hide behind the anonymity need to get a life. Try and be a positive role model on this forum as many of the players from different age groups tend to come on and read the nonsense and some start to add to the lunacy.

Connor DeSimone and Chris Grey are running the program now, I have had the opportunity to speak with them at length and I can just say they are really trying to put something together that's different. Smaller rosters, player development are key to their approach. They have had some success pulling together some good talent to get the 29 team off the ground. Its a program worth keeping an eye on. I Currently have a son in one of the "top" LI AA teams but have to say I am keeping an eye on how they progress .

I actually moved my son from a top AA program to Turtles this year. He wasn't getting great playing time/development on his old team and the roster has ballooned, getting bigger for 4 years in a row. Moving to Turtles is a little bit of a risk but the early returns are good.

They aren’t coaches. They are directors. They float here and there and help coaches when they can.

Some of the top teams have an East team now. Look around.

And what do you mean by top team at this age isn't that subjective? or are you referring to just wins and losses
Quick google search and you will see that some of the Long Island programs have opened an East region, so if you are in Suffolk County you have more options than ever before.

Ha, I don't mean to overstate things. I like how involved Connor and Chris have been and what they are planning. I personally know a bunch of people who are keeping an eye on the Turtles for this reason (for a possible move down the road). They have been thoughtful about who goes on the roster and keeping the roster size small. But obviously it's early and there is no guarantee how things will work out. Should be interesting but I'm hopeful.

Original post - Oblivious to reality no “east” teams have top talent. Top talent goes to the main team in those organizations.
Nobody is leaving legacy lumberjax to go to legacy east for example
Preseason Rankings based on current rosters:

1. Igloo
2. Rebels
3. 91 and Express - tied
4. Legacy
5. Mooselax
6. All others

genuine question. Express did not have a particularly good year this year and I know a bunch of kids left (although I don't know if their best players stayed or left). Did Express add a lot this year? If so, where from?

Truly couldn’t answer that but I heard they had a good turnout at tryouts and I know with the new coach they have this year they should do very well recruiting kids going forward to play for him.

Express has never beaten Igloo and Igloo defiantly got better, Express is TBD in the past they have struggled against top AA teams.
Last year means nothing. All new rosters, that’s why they play the games.
Any good local or away fall tournaments and if so, which teams are attending?

Tristar best local one. They get the most amount teams and even brackets. Mylaxtourneys is hit or miss and Blatant tourneys vary somewhat, but can be good. Away, and close I would go with The NXT and Trilogy events.
NAL will likely be the most competitive fall ball tournament.

Imagine being so (dis)connected to life to know all the roster adds/subtracts for sixth grade lacrosse teams but not know the difference between “lose” and “loose”.

Where do some of these trolls get this information about club rosters (additions/subtractions - offers made/offers rejected) across every age group?

Some people have friends.
You and your friends need to get a life or another hobby!
Loose /lose
Disconnect / (Dis) connect.

Imagine trying to make fun of someone’s grammar or typo and then making one yourself.
And then judge someone for typing messages in a forum that you are part of ,check regularly and respond in short time.I smell a 91 daddy coach.I can tell by the I can do it but you can not attitude.
Seriously, can all the I’m above it all parents stop criticizing this board. You. Are. On. It.
You too care or need a hobby. Just stop or don’t visit.

That goes for the I don’t read it but I heard parents too!

Why?
What does it matter? Why do you care about how many “quality” teams that are in the tournament? They are 11 years old! Igloo is n the NAL in November. It’s fall ball and there are lax daddy’s on here questioning 11 year old fall ball strength of schedule/ tournaments?put some of this energy into training and you wouldn’t have to sweat what everyone else is doing😆
Columbus Day Tourney will have some quality competition.

They are the most sought after team as far as kids wanting to make whether we like it or not.
That can change but as of now it is what it is.
I would like to see a different club give them a run for their money for a few years. Just takes a very good grade year to make a difference.

Well when they average the placement of all their top teams, they become the number 1. Very close though. Amd a bunch of powerhouse programs up in top ten. What you won’t see: non NLF programs from LI in the top.
I think they are using the term “program” a little loosely. True national is not a program and has no business on that list. Their teams are completely fluid too. It’s a joke

It’s lacrosse why expect an independent third party ranking system.
You mean the pay for play national team? Got it. They have three teams at every age now. Gimme a break. Money grab central. My kid did just fine. But thanks True dad who doesn’t want to admit their kid isn’t that special for being on one of these money grab teams.
Get real. The equation is on the US Club Lax site. If the formula says you are #1 you are. Totally open about it.

This is what all the 91 teams do. They won’t play big time teams in DMV because they will lose and hurt their chances of being ranked near the top. It’s all about the rankings. Pick and choose your opponents.

Ok whatever you say.

Guess we can use that same theory as to why the DMV won’t send teams to the one age based tournament. Frauds !

Thought he left because Igloo was a better fit.
That is correct. Left voluntarily for a better fit short term and possibly long term.
I dunno…
How many of you yabbos actually played the game? Like really played? At a high level? Bunch of armchair quarterbacks who care too much. Teach your boys to read - so they can do more than monitor the transfer portal from Manthattan to Siena. Or whatever sorry [Censored] program they get into one day. If they’re lucky. And if they get money. Or if you can pay. It’s easy to talk. Harder to ball. For real.

Conflicting stories.

Better fit= wants his kid to play. Another kid was better so they made the right move.

Legend in his own mind.
Igloo starting off the Fall string and making a statement!
Rebels are the future we practice 365 days a year have kids from all over the island… But we can’t beat Garden City Rams good team… a Local TOWN team…
Other than Rebels, which team(s) are the one to beat this weekend at The Circuit? Some big name clubs competing but not all have a track record with a '29 national team. Anticipating a good level of talent as some clubs put the full court press on for players with multiple tryout dates/locations and no competing tournaments on the same dates.

Yes, big win over Garden City. I'm kidding, obviously a good sign for them but can't read much into a tournament like that.

1)How many of the teams are having tryouts and guest players during the circuit?
2) Who gets caught with players on multiple teams in same program?
3)Who cares who wins?

National Teams are a money making scam.

Greedy clubs trying to put more and more money in their pockets. A true national team would be the best possible players you can get, not any player whose parents can pay the vig.

[Censored] see [Censored] do with this stuff. One club does it and the rest have followed right along.

Real competition remains at the NAL and NLF every year. Everything “national” is a sideshow circus.
Wow.People are still talking about this kid….

Is a heck of a player and I suggest if anyone has any further questions to ask the family and not the secret keyboard commandos that come on a forum to bash 11year olds.

Let it go and it will stop. No need to pump the new team either. Keep it classy.
Seems like a Salty 91 daddy on here. If you lost one of the best players on your team, you and then entire team should take a step back look in the mirror and truly assess the reason for a top player to leave what is arguably the “best” 2029 team in NY or best organization from top to bottom. Stop the nonsense and get a life.

There’s quite a few teams on LI that could be considered just playing for fun. Look at some of the local tournaments and the scores. You’d have to be in it just for fun in some of these cases.
I was at Farmingdale today. Express Moran was dominating. It’s Fall Ball but it seemed as they were clicking on all cylinders and must’ve been practicing for a while together.
they are in 6th grade GET A GRIP LAX BRO!!!!!! Let them have fun

I saw them as well unfortunately the competition wasn't much of a challenge but yes they looked decent...guess the coaching change made a difference at least thus far

So just based on scores didn't see games at Tri-Star today... Igloo got better, 91 same (had an injury or two which I think impacted the team short term), Express no change still can't beat the other two, and the Rebels...? love to hear the thoughts from someone who was there today
All three games could have went either way.Very fun competitive lacrosse. They boys all seem to compete but also get along .Saw some very tough play followed by a lot of high fives and hand shakes. It was a good day of lax.
Express did not play well yesterday. But they certainly closed the gap on 91 and igloo from last season. Express was also missing their top middie and Fogo yesterday.
Agreed. Express was missing 2 of their top players. Although it’s only Fall ball they will be ready and loaded by Spring.

with 30 ish kids on the roster you'd think they would be deep enough no? 91 carries way less players and were missing some and seem to be as competitive as they usually are
Grow up. Such nonsense with the excuses etc… this is the stuff that ruins it for the kids. The dads who are so insecure that they have to explain why their 11/12 year old kids team didn’t go undefeated in a fall ball tournament. Bet the kids can care less! Same people that have to watch every second of every practice.

its my understanding express, 91 both were missing their "top" players so sounds like it was even. Either way it seems it was a good tournament for change with the top 3 teams seperated by a goal at most. No offense to the rebels but they just aren't ready yet for the top 3, but credit for competing..

Credit to them for competing 100%
They’re still some pieces away
Surprised to see that 91 is not entered into NAL but most other LI teams will be there. Must be their injuries? 🤔
Igloo enters NAL in AA bracket but Legacy and Express in A. That’s absurd especially that it’s fall ball if they want to be considered a AA team.

That must be a mistake no?
At least they all showed up. Where is 91? Afraid of Igloo? Typical 91 doesn’t want to play top teams. Trying to protect their record by not playing so they can be ranked higher.
91 is smart. No need to drive to Delaware to play Long Island teams. And can’t remember the last time Maryland teams came to a Long Island tournament.

Don’t want to hear their lame excuse that competition is no good. That theory is disproved many times a season. We will disprove it again at the WSL tournament.

You want to play us sooner, time to hit the road Maryland.
91 is smart. No need to drive to Delaware to play (Maryland) teams that will beat us. **fixed**
None of the LI teams are playing each other in the NAL, so that argument or comment is nonsense. 91 probably is trying to insulate itself and keep its record strong for ranking purposes. They do it quite often. Maryland teams also do come up north and are afraid of no team or competition.

No record to protect except a record of not travelling in the fall.

is after fall a time when kids switch teams if they are not happy?

If kid not happy where he’s at and has another place to go? The kid should leave ASAP. Don’t waste time being miserable. Get on another team as soon as possible.

If a team is not the right fit for the kid, he has the right to leave whenever he chooses. Even if he doesn’t have another team at the moment, you can leave and use the $s for some good training. Then ask around if another team is looking for kids and ask for a tryout.

Seems fairly close. Didn’t Laxachusettes just lose to some team not on this list from the north east though? Not that one loss would mean they aren’t top ten, just curious if anyone has insight into that situation

Didn’t Express lose to Pride a couple weeks ago?

Other than those it seems fair.
Will be interesting to see what next weeks algorithm spits out. Fall is over so these will be the final rankings until winter tourneys start up I think.

Mad Lax....
everyone else is interchangeable week to week....

and no I don't have a horse in the race but have seen them all play in the past not sure this year is much different. Seems like the gap closed for some but that just created more parity at the top. But still think everyone is chasing Mad Lax, I do think the hawks took a step back just based on results.
Express has not played their best ball yet. They will get better.

Express is the best team on Long Island.

They were clearly not as good as 91 last year. A lot has changed.

Most express rosters carry around 33-35

That is every program
Express will continue to field top tier teams and more so now that Moran joined the program. If your son is a player there are only 3 programs in NY to be part of for the foreseeable future.

Yes. Express, 91 and Sweetlax Upstate.
Is it me or do all of the Maryland 2029 girls appear to be much older. Is this a thing in Maryland that their “2029” players could be born in 2027 or 2028? I find it hard to believe that their players are so much taller than most teams. 🤔

Yes. Charm City.

Well yes if he is a top player on Express he will see the field, if he is a borderline player they will be more than happy to take your money...

All the Top teams are like this. This is nothing new and not particular to one team. Every team should be looking to
Upgrade always. You aren’t owed a lifetime roster spot. Keep getting better or get left behind.

....and that explains the state of youth lax on LI. These large orgs are not about teaching kids to be players of the game, to love the game ...they are money grabs, looking for the kid who was trained better elsewhere( says a lot about their own trying abilities), convincing parents thats its about winning even at the expense of their own kids. Youth sports should be about player development every one of these kids will not be the same in two years physically, mentally, etc these are crucial years in their development ,consider that before you put child in a position where he is the 20 or 30 something on one of these rosters. Put them in a position to succeed not just a position to be on the self proclaimed best team. It's a great sport it should be taught to all and enjoyed by all at this age not treated as a business about bragging rights. Develop the kids you have, build it, earn the top $ you are paid. then you can be considered the best. if you tell me thats the model the next two years 7/8th grade then I buy it that is when the separation should begin as the maturation process is happening and you can begin to see a child's athletic path...but in 4/5/6th grade to make that the mantra always add and replace seems like your about your wallet not about the kids.
I have been through this end to end a few times. Just find a place where son plays, the coaches are dedicated, and the team is decent enough win some tourneys. Yes, the top team is always the goal, but it can and will be frustrating for you and your son to be in the bottom half of any roster. There are so many good options. And the top are always looking to add and improve through recruitment more so than development. It’s a results driven process via winning.

This is the truth, well said.
Not sure why it would be 91 over Igloo.Igloo played in bigger tournaments and beat 91 head to head.91 played teams like the Florida Dragons and Bobby’s back door lacrosse club in a watered down fall tournament that they won.Igloo and Express went to the NAL and competed.91 could not get out of Tri Star without a loss and a last second win over Express.Sweet lax upstate can not compete with the LI big 3.Should be a fun spring when and if they play each other. It is great that the 3 seem to be this evenly matched.

Express played Primetime and BBL at NAL. That’s not exactly competing. They would have been blown out by Madlax or the Hawks.

Agree and still haven't beat 91 or igloo.. yes the spring/summer will be the true test. And if history is an repeat they probably won't see each other more than once if at all over the spring/summer
Wrong.

Teams in the country. You can’t be surprised when 91 doesn’t show up to a tournament, it’s an organizational decision to cherry pick opponents whenever possible. The top AA teams don’t want to play in the MLT because the competition isn’t as good.
This post is nonsense. 91 has played all the top teams and has only lost to 1 LI team by one goal. Big talker here. We’ll see how it plays out this summer.

I must’ve missed all the times 91 went to DMV to play. I must’ve missed all the times they played Madlax, Annapolis Hawks, Crabs, and Next Level.

I remember 91 playing Madlax in the championship game at Naptown and at the NLF Championship. They also played the Hawks at the NLF Kickoff. Please let us know when Igloo or Legacy are showing up to an NLF event. Then we can talk about 91 not travelling in the Fall.
You can bash the MLT all you want as many if not all the LI teams play in it for 1 reason or another. 91 keeps getting bashed up and down each year, but essentially rarely get beaten or even consistently get beat by any of the LI teams and the Pride only lost once to a LI team and that was this year by 1 goal in fall ball to Igloo. 91 plays enough against all the other “top” clubs and compete in every single game against them while generally being an entire year younger than those non-LI teams. So until the local teams that your son is affiliated with starts to beat 91 for the first time ever or beats them consistently then you can come on this board with some credibility.
Yeh the other Long Island B teams play in the MLT tournaments, not the AA teams!

Pretty sure Igloo AA was at Laxfest last summer.
This parent who has nothing else to do but bash 91 during the holidays is either:

A) delusional
B) a troll
C) a bitter former 91 parent
D) all of the above
I don’t think he’s bashing 91, just stating the obvious. They control the MLT tournaments and for the most part many AA teams don’t attend, not just talking about this grade level but most grade levels. There are times that AA teams show up but they are few and far between as many other tournaments draw better competition across multiple age groups.
He or she bashed 91 by stating that they play mainly in the MLT and stay away from playing top competition as well as for the most part teams from the DMV which is false. Once again, whomever he or she is, the fact is that amongst the LI teams, 91 is consistently the best team with Igloo and Express always in the mix. To bring any other facts in or to make snide remarks is just childish.
91 at younger ages doesn’t travel to DMV the way other programs do and they play MLT tournaments much more than the other clubs. This is by design so they can win t shirts and recruit players young. There is much too much made by parents chasing T Shirts. No one cares what your 6th grade record was, high school and colleges don’t care. Make sure you go somewhere where you can play and develop. All these teams send players to college. If you are willing to put in the work and you have a good coach you will get better.
Irrespective of what the 91 or any other organizations formula for success or attempted success may be, to continually bash 91 at this age group or any other age group as it relates to their tournament selection is just childish. Whomever your son plays for, until they beat 91 on a consistent basis, 91 will continue to be the top club in LI and will always be in the top 10 mix nationally regardless if the age rules remain or change.
Yes because they recruit well in early grades by playing Lollipop tournaments
Then maybe the rest of the clubs should follow their lead if that in fact is the recipe to their success.
If your kid is not one of the top five players on his travel team by 9th grade he won’t be playing D1!

No kidding.
Why would they go to DMV to play kids 1.5 - 2yrs older than them?
We do not holdback in LI.
They aren't dense - they will send their teams to play in DMV in HS when your holdback nonsense plays less of a factor.
Don’t kid yourself. Plenty of holdbacks in LI over the years. Just not as profound as in MD and other areas because of the stronger academic public schools on LI

…And get spanked… actually, St Anthony’s didn’t even have to travel to the DMV to get rolled— St John’s came up and did it to them on their own turf. I think it was like 12-2 at one point in the 4th Qtr.
Did a high school parent from the DMV site mistakenly jump into a 6th grade NY forum? SMH.

Yes and btw dope. Crabs don’t have a 29 team.

No there's not. A handful yes, in a few private schools, but other than that - 95% on age.
NY is the reason the rest of the country has to holdback. Fact.
There aren’t plenty of holdbacks on Long Island. There are incredibly few. We have great schools and the great players play up in age. Sorry but go back to the Maryland Board with holdback talk where it belongs.
World Series is using Player Authentic
Hopefully, other tournaments will as well.
We were missing guys,it was windy,my kids shoe was untied, the wind wasn’t right.
Wow.Stop with excuses! Igloo beat you!I bet you weren’t the only team missing guys or dealing with adversity that day but this board only hears it from the 91 daddy’s or daddy coaches that come on hear like little children making excuses. And now it’s “wait till summer”.Wait for what? You think you are the only team training and working hard? Express was missing guys and only lost by 1.Igloo won by 1 but all we hear is 91s problems and excuses.Cry baby’s!Summer can not come fast enough!
This guy is spitting’ fire!
***** Wow! You must make sure you get your frustrations c before the last few hours of 2022! No one made any excus about 91 losing to Igloo. Statements were made in respons the attacks of how 91 rarely travels anywhere and rarely pl any top teams outside of LI and keeps its ranking due to pl in the "MLT" venues. The fact remains that 91 at this age only lost to 1 team and that was to Igloo by 1 goal. That is generally the case at every age group from 2030's and spa the other years as well. LI teams don't fare historically or consistently well against 91 "AA" teams. Until that changes keep getting your blood pressure checked constantly!
This guy is spitting’ fire!
Look at the teams at these “National” events in Texas and Florida. Texas had 3 age groups (2027-2029) playing one another. Half of the teams in that bracket were Team 91. 91 has multiple “National” teams of the same age. Save your money. Tournament in Florida had much better teams and better attended but still it’s really for the clubs that have a hard time finding good competition within driving distance of their homes. The east coast doesn’t have a problem finding great competition. I think the National teams are a huge waste of money and devalue the main clubs they represent. If the AA team isn’t playing the top competition then get rid of it and just have a national model. It’s a money grab. The AA teams can find tough competition all along the eastern seaboard. In my opinion National teams are the club’s way of trying to open up a new revenue stream and kids have been getting college scholarships without ever needing this in the past.
It’s gives parents a chance to say their son made the “national team” meanwhile all you have to do is basically pay and you are on in NY.It’s just another way for parents to try and get their players name out there all the while it is just a huge money grab and some b level lacrosse.

Not going to affect anyone in the immediate vicinity.

Most of the HOCO teams at this grade that I have seen I would guess are not loaded with holdbacks.

Nationals LC. They roll mostly holdbacks.
Are you serious? There’s not a team in MD, at any age, that doesn’t have holdbacks…it’s kinda your thing.
Take a lap, pal

Holdbacks happen less than you think. It’s most parents on here complaining. I would guess there are 5 or 6 total in the entire 2029 HOCO league.

for now
That’s laughable. Go on the MD site and see how they’re complaining about the possible rule change. There’s plenty of holdbacks at every age group in HOCO.
HOCO =Holdback County

Oh look. The 91 influenced new rankings are out. They are ranked above Igloo who beat them and the Hawks who have beat them multiple times and who 91 has never beaten.Besides Express and Igloo does anyone know of any other somewhat decent team that they played in the fall? How can they be ranked so high? One wonders.

Nothing to wonder about - just look at the "Rating Math". There is no subjective input in the computation.

Im a little new to this, can you share the link for said rankings?
It’s on USCL on IG.But back to the rankings wizard. Can the commenter that defended the ranking please illiterate?”Rating math “say you? “No subjective input”? Please help to finally put an end to all of these rumors and conspiracies with your knowledge and wisdom.Thank you.
Take a look at the Long Island teams rankings. 91 at the younger ages does not play a lot of games. In the Fall, hardly at all:

2029’s 7 Games
2028’s 6 Games
2027’s 3 Games

This is all on purpose. They try to manipulate their ratings by not playing often, especially in the Fall. If your kid likes actually playing in games, look at the other teams and how many games they play. It’s on the rankings website.
Looks like it’s crickets from the delusional 91 daddy data processor. From what I am hearing they have a lot of other things to deal with like another big time player or two leaving in the near future.

If you go to the rankings and select a team it will show you all the games being used and their result. If you select "Rating Math" you can see the computations and the "Points" earned for each game. The teams Average Points for all their games is what's used to rank the teams. Hope this helps!

Why are you so worried about fall rankings? We all know they will be different at the end of the summer. Only team ranking pegged absolutely correct right now is Madlax as number one. There are teams that are not even ranked yet like Laxachusetts. They are a top 10 team no question. Eclipse not ranked either.

So let it shake out in the spring and summer. Don’t let fall ball and fall rankings get in your head.
Yes.All that info on USCL is what people are laughing at.
6-1 against weak comp does not deserve to even be in top 5.
When the original rankings came out and 91 was low on the pole USCL came out with 2-3 more sets of rankings. They had to wait for 91 to put up more wins against more soft comp so they can put out “final rankings”.Good thing you squeaked one out against Express North at the end because if you lost we would all have to watch 10 more sets rankings come out.
What a meathead, making a comment about 91, jumping over Express and Igloo. Like these rankings even mean anything. When either of those teams beat 91 on a consistent basis year in year out, then he or she can pound their respective chest. Again, at this age group, no Long Island team has ever beaten 91 except Igloo in a squeaker by one goal. 91 has always competed even with teams like Madlax Playing them tough and only losing by three goals each and every time they played them. This parent needs to get a life.

Either that or it's a simple, well explained algorithm and 6 games were needed to be listed in the rankings. Your imagination and concern are entertaining though - can't wait for your next theory!
Why would someone have to get a life just because they have a valid argument about something? The only formula that exists for rankings is the one that gets created to put 91 higher then they should be.Didn’t 91 have multiple 1 game wins against Express and Igloo in the past? Why is 91 ranked higher then the Hawks? 91 has never beat them. Why so defensive? If the ranking do not matter then why get so offended when they are questioned?
Oh.It was the algorithm.LOL.

Igloo dad can’t handle the 12-0 beatdown Madlax gave them.
I can picture the 91 lax dads sitting at their desks wearing the head to toe 91 swag getting all riled up because their kids lax teams ranking was rightfully challenged. Now you have to take a break from making your kids highlight reels to defend the name.Classic.But in all fairness 91 should be #1.After all they do have 5-7 coaches on the sideline.Whoops.
You are truly not an intelligent individual. You really believe that US club lacrosse is holding back rankings or making multiple rankings because of one age group? That is so ridiculous! 91 at this group was not ranked early on because they didn’t have enough games that would qualify them to be ranked. Once again, for all those who love to shout out and complain on this forum, until one of the Long Island teams beat 91 on a consistent basis, and not just once by 1 goal, then you can pound your chest!

I think maybe it doesn’t instill confidence that the ranking is objective when the ranking is done by a company owned by the Team 91 NJ Director.
Don’t think these rankings don’t matter. They certainly matter to the coaches and programs trying to recruit kids. Especially considering this is the last year before the Workd Series. It’s good for business to be ranked high.

I know it's a tough concept for the math challenged - but you can actually run the game results through the published formula and double-check the rankings if you suspect foul play. Or you can think of other excuses why your phenom kid's team isn't ranked as high as you think they should be.
So all the 91 coaches and dads really think they should be ranked higher then the Hawks?Being they seem to be on here defending the rankings I would have to guess they take them pretty seriously.A lot of contradictions in their responses. Also seem to just ignore great points being made by others that do not fit their views.Typical.

I don’t think anyone has defended anything besides that there is a formula for how it is figured out. And there were tournaments right up till 1/1 that affected ranking formulas so of course they werre updated.

Past years don’t count towards the rankings so all the 91 losses to the Hawks or Express losses to literally every one in years past are not factored in.

Wait till the 2nd week of June and then complain if it doesn’t look right. First 2 weekends are NLF part 1 and NAL. Most of these top 6 teams will be at both. You’ll have all the answers then.
If you followed the MD forum or HOCO you would’ve known that the Hawks program from the 2027’s and younger are not as strong as they were in years past.
I think your algorithm should not reward teams who don’t play everyone:

Team 91
2029’s 7 Games
2028’s 6 Games
2027’s 3 Games

I'm guessing a lot of the misunderstanding is that for a lot of you your 2029 is your oldest so the rankings are new. You gotta take them with a grain of salt. It's a very simplistic algorithm that just approximates a ranking. It actually does pretty well generally grouping teams in tiers, like the top-10, top-50, top-100, other. But a difference of 5 - 10 places in the rankings means virtually nothing when those teams are matched up head-to-head. A difference of 50+ spots and you should expect a blowout almost every game. They should come with a warning label:

"THESE RANKINGS ARE EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN FROM BEING USED FOR BRAGGING PURPOSES TO INFLATE YOUR EGO ABOUT YOUR PROGENY".
The 91 crew weather it be players, coaches or parents will twist it this way or that way because they are benefiting from the outcome. We all know to take the rankings with a grain of salt. One comment is bringing up Igloo losses the next is talking about how the Hawks are not as good anymore but games in the past do not matter. It’s all twisting nonsense.Igloo won by 1.Well 91 won by one against Express North and Express. What does this matter? And 91 has only won by one against Express and igloo in the past. Its ok for the 91 lawyers to bring up past games but not for anyone else? And then when questioned they can bring up the mathematical equation and algorithm all they want.At the end of the day everyone knows that they are in a spot in the meaningless fall rankings that they do not deserve to be in and it is just a way to keep the brand so they can try and poach everyone’s players. And the Hawks are not what they used to be?Ok.I guess time will tell.
Hilarious. Why are you fools even looking at those rankings. Hawks and madlax are the clear top two but the hawks only played two events in the fall. The algorithm rewards games played and if you don’t play you drop.

Until igloo, 91 or express s actually beats one of those two teams these rankings are a joke.

Shuuuuut uppppppppp.

have to agree , Hawks and madlax are the top teams, rankings mean nothing, they are directional accurate meaning yes 91,igloo are probably interchangeable , express still has a ton to prove. Everyone else is a coin toss. The real issue is these top teams will never play each other more than once a year, if that. So we will never have enough of a data set the really hash out the true top teams . So enjoy the noise !
Would be pretty embarrassing if Hawks and Madlax weren’t better since they are older than our kids!

until the age verification issue plays out.. they are the ones everyone is chasing, and please do not make it seem like there are not at least a couple of players in the "top 3" who are not on age because we all know someone on those teams who won't make the cut.
Can’t speak for the Hawks, but the same Madlax team will be walking out on the field if and when age verification occurs. Better start thinking of new excuses while fighting for that 2nd or 3rd slot in the rankings.

Look forward to playing them in the World Series then!!
Let me guess.Last comment was by a 91 rep.Looks like you have your hands full on L.I. so unless you get a 91 red carpet at qualifiers (which most likely will be the case) I would take it 1 tournament at a time. From what I have read and heard you have some 29s on Venom that will be sliding down to help you get over the L.I. Hump.Better hope the current players do not find out that their spots will be taken next year or that move can be a dangerous one.
Many teams have kids playing up who slide down and all are aware.
Express has players in the same situation. 29’s playing up with 28’s.

help me understand something so the 29's playing up w/the 28's currently will they not play in the WS if the current team makes the cut and be told they will have a shot next year or will they play 2 years in a row if given the chance..just trying to understand how the big orgs handle that situation
The Chuck’s goalie is a student. Once he slides down he will be a 🧱 wall for the 29’s. That’s the risk everyone takes when they join the travel circuit. Eventually kids will be back down at their age group at some point. So to bash 91 or Express or any other team is so shortsighted. Just let the kids play and the results will eventually start trickling in for all.

They will play 2 years in a row. And the 2 players mentioned in this thread, Express goalie and the 91 kid are both gamechangers.
They will play twice

Our experience is that your kid is probably impactful to play up on a WS team. Otherwise it’s very easy to fill the spot with another ‘28 kid who will gladly pay for the experience to ride the bench.

Sounds like someone didn’t make the big club.

All the big clubs charge relatively the same, within a couple hundred bucks of each other.

Unless you’re kid is at the Turtles or True Blue, you’re writing big checks.
Guys. You do know that the rankings for the 2029’s started this past fall. So when you say so and so won by this and this in the past it doesn’t matter. It’s what they do this year and in the future. If Express beat so and so two years ago it doesn’t matter. And fall ball honestly is a joke. They’re trying to appease all of us parents by adding the “included” tournaments. We all pay a lot of money for our boys to play. We deserve tournaments. Fall tournaments are watered down. After the first couple in the spring we will see who’s legit. A lot of good teams from all over. That’s what makes it fun. Good luck guys.
100% Truth!
Well said! And on top of that, lacrosse really does not have much significance until 9th grade. So much will change from now until then. It’s all about training and finding the best team/coach for your player regardless of what the team is ranked and so on.The 29 year with the exception of Max Lax just so happens to be anyone’s game.Good luck.
Pennsylvania PIAA voted to take away a year of high school eligibility for any 8th grade kid that reclasses. Hopefully coming to a state near you soon!
Agreed that the PIAA is making the right move. Wish it was a bit broader and didn't just limit reclassing in 8th grade.

It is basically already there. Public schools do not let you "stay back". You would have to transfers school (ie move) to be able to reclass in high school. If that happens the PIAA does have a rule in place that you loose a season if you move districts for no good reason.

This new change though does not cover private schools. Inter-Ac and Friends Leagues etc are not part of PIAA. Reclassing will still happen in those schools.

Currently moving to Long Island (Suffolk County). In your opinion, what are best travel teams for 2029 besides everyone telling me 91. Thank you

no you're not. You already live on LI and you are seeking validation for the program you're kid already plays for.

This is the original poster. Thank you for your input, but your wrong. I have done some research and it looks like Rebels, Legacy and Empire. Just looking for another opinion, but I appreciate it if it doesn't come from you.
At this age I would avoid the Rebels. Depending on your location in Suffolk you also have Express, Moose lax and turtles.

Mooselax, Rebels, Legacy, Igloo, Express.. A lot of good options in the 2029 age group.
BTB has an AMAZING new program Coach Dan really cares about player and team development - speed and agility 2x a week - face off trainings with PLL players private to only their club - 2 regular practices a week and pop up practices whenever weather permits . His teams have already improved since the fall cant wait to see future for this club
Mooslax 4 Pride 3
Were they missing more guys? Was is to windy? Was the gra
Looks like 91 shenanigans are being played at their tournament.
With a loss to Moose lax and LE clearly ahead in points Moose and LE should be the 1/2 seeds.

They all beat each other negating the head to head tiebreakers.

Next tiebreaker was goals against.

Tiebreaker rules were printed on tourneymachine.
Please educate yourself before posting.
So now you have roughly 4 equal teams.
Express
91
Mooselax
Igloo

Who wins the recruiting war this summer will win World Series next yr.
It will be very interesting. The 2029’s are generally not a strong group on the Island. Seems like the team with biggest pressure and question marks going forward will be 91. A team that just doesn’t seem to draw top players and doesn’t come close to other top 91 teams. Reminds many of the 2026 team before they stacked half their team with out of state players.
do any other teams besides Express not practice. big roster and few practices. it's been a complete joke this year.

More interesting will be who will walk away from which of these teams. Will someone leave because of a large roster? Will someone leave because daddy ball? Will someone leave because their kid is in a position they don’t want them to play? Will someone leave because their team does not have invites to certain tournaments? Will someone leave because the time and money has just become too much?

If you believe the parent rumor hotline, there are some unhappy folk at each team.
.Playing in “BIG TOURNAMENTS “ does not matter until HS.Take that money you are willing to spend on the extra hotels and get training or take a family vacation

I thought all the hype about Moran being Coach would have solved that is he not the full time coach or was that just a headline move? I know he is obviously still HC at Chaminade so next few months he has other priorities.

Headline to help with recruiting talent. Trying to appeal to those who might want to send their kids Catholic. Same guy as before running 99% of the show.
You can always play for 91 Dad coaches.

just another dad coach
Big falling out at 91
Another 91 Daddy Coach getting a taste of his own medicine but when the shoe is on the other foot, I guess it was uncomfortable to wear. Unfortunately biggest issue with 91 the past few years with many daddy coaches with subpar sons getting unwarranted playing time this resulting in many leaving the program for other toxic programs. Travel lax has spiraled into a big money producing platform for those in control and parents buying into the notion that their son or daughter must play to have any chance of success later on in the sport.

All good points. 91 at the younger grades has plethora of dad coaches. Some of these teams literally have 7-8 dad coaches. There 29 and 30 team are good but they can’t win against good teams outside the island. 29 team just lost to mooselax. I believer they have 7 dad coaches. The 31 team can’t really beat anyone.

But, if all else’s fails when they get older they will do what they did with their 26 team. They will just recruit student kids from Florida etc that just fly in for tournaments and then leave.

Long Island travel lax is just as corrupt as the politicians of NY.The entertaining part is that all of the parents keep buying in! This is about your kids and your kid’s development.Period! 91 had early success but the culture of the team became highly toxic. We all know this.Players not practicing with the team and coaches kids and friends getting all the perks. The game itself will weed this out.As you can see with their recent year of decline in wins and losing key players from this Pride team.Soon the players and parents on this team will have to make big decisions.Any team that is not honestly rostered will not win long term!Any team that is not well coached -will not win long term. And that is definitely the case in 91s Prides situation.
It’s just amazing that disgruntled ex 91 parents continue to bash 91. These same individuals will be toxic and a cancer to their current programs until they leave for another program while bashing their current program also on the way out.
Wishful thinking. All stated above are facts.Even your coaching staff is walking away.Winning a watered down MLT by the skin of your teeth does not make people envy 91 enough to be disgruntled. It makes them laugh.
Well said. 91 is definitely not the draw it was. Many who left may be disgruntled who still believe that there son is much better than what he really is - but they and others who had more talented kids feel like they were tricked into staying in the program based on the allure of the older teams which were more talented, played kids based on merit and had better overall coaching.

Have another!!!!
Snappy reply! Blatant is on the horizon.Any predictions?

It should be a competitive day with Express, Igloo,91 and Moose.

Yeah with Express
They have been in the B bracket ever since they lost key players because of the daddy ball. All players that left seem to be doing fine on their new teams. And now a coach and his son has left because of this same reason. It’s shameless.

So they can’t play anymore because a couple of kids went to different teams? I’m confused. Players hop clubs all the time for one reason or another, but because it happened there they now can’t compete?
Some of these posts are plain ridiculous. What “B” bracket ?
The point being made is that Pride is not what it used to be.
And with that being said some of the reasons are players/coaches leaving because of the daddy ball culture. There obviously is no B bracket in the NLF.Again.The point being made is that since the competitive drop off Pride has faced less competitive teams then is has in the past. Most believe this manipulation is the reason it maintains such high unwarranted rankings.

Less competitive?

They are playing this week and next week at the NAL according to their webpage. This week has the Hawks, Laxachusetts Black, Express and TX Nationals who are all top 15 teams. And the Hawks are arguably #1.

Is the NAL going to be non competitive next week?

Don’t worry. They put three of last years final four in the same pool on day one to make sure they have a chance.

I only see one pool?
They are playing Big 4 HHH and Laxachusetts YELLOW not black . Texas team only one somewhat competitive.
Lax Black and Express also have same soft schedule as 91 so stop complaining and let the boys play and see how it ends up.
Who is complaining? If 91 wants to keep up the nonsense then they should be able to take the heat.

I’m not sure what this means. Are you suggesting that Hawks, Express, Laxchusetts black, 91 and Texas should all play each other day 1 so teams like HHH or Empire make the 5 team playoff on Day 2?
Texas is playing-
Hawks
Express
91 Pride.

Looks like they are the only team that wants to earn it!

Haha, spot on. Presumably why they aren’t fielding a World Series team. Last year’s team was remarkably different than their ‘27 team.

“Arguably” is right. Ranked 3 but they beat nationals (their only loss and the second year in a row)…nationals has played zero top ten teams except the hawks who they lost to. and then the hawks beat madlax twice after that. Hawks took one loss this spring to next level who they then beat down in hoco finals. Yet still stand at 3 behind the two teams they beat this spring.

Meanwhile teams like 91, express and igloo keep getting bumped down or overlooked so teams like JM3, nations best and true national who also have not played a top ten team and most haven’t played a game since sandstorm can have their top ten spot

Tell me the rankings are pay for play without telling me…

This has been covered before but the rankings use a simple algorithm and you can see the exact math used in the "Rating Math" tab for each team. You can add up the numbers yourself and confirm each teams total points if you like. Head-to-head results don't have any more impact than any other game when the teams are ranked.
Good to hear from the us club lax dude who’s in bed with all the low integrity money machines out there.

Thanks for clarifying, now stop calling them rankings and letting kids have a false sense of reality based on your social media hype train.

If they aren’t rankings then promote whah they are instead of the false narrative. But you won’t because again, you’re in bed with the nationals and the true’s of the world.
Ranking 11 year olds, sad really just sad!

Texas got robbed.
I believe that’s the 1st time 91 lost to Laxachusetts in a chip game.Real poles make a difference.

Kind of a joke looking at 91 playing one decent team on day one and destroying two B teams.

Kinda shameful to see them so clearly willing to sand bag it. The real championship game took place at 10. Kudos to Laxachusettes for rebounding from their day one loss to hawks.
On more relevant subject to LI Lax specificly it appears to me not much has changed on LI. 91 still beating everyone, Igloo seems to have improved after beating LI Ex (again) bottom line its prob 91/Igloo on LI and the everyone else with a slight nod to LI Ex above others. As said earlier in the year until Express proves they can beat either 91/Igloo consistently they are just another club with a bloated roster. As far as rankings across the nation it will never be a truly debatable situation as the math is only as strong as the inputs and due to disparity among talent levels in different states it will always be impossible to rank anything outside of maybe top 10.

This is exactly what makes it all so pathetic, who actually cares, a very good portion of these kids won’t even be playing in a few years, all because their dads made it a miserable time.

Thanks for clarifying, now stop calling them rankings and letting kids have a false sense of reality based on your social media hype train.

If they aren’t rankings then promote whah they are instead of the false narrative. But you won’t because again, you’re in bed with the nationals and the true’s of the world.

What word would you prefer they use instead of "ranking"? It's a simple formula to give people a general idea where the teams stand relative to each other. This is useful for teams when selecting tournaments, tournaments when seeding teams, and parents when looking for a different opportunity for their kid. Nobody should get too worked up about it.

Dude. Something isn’t right when teams who haven’t played in months jump teams who have and are winning. The system rewards playing lower level teams and running up the score.

Nations best shouldn’t move up over hawks after losing to nationals by 8 considering hawks beat nationals.

Jm3 shouldn’t jump over next level who had a great spring, beat hawks once and lost to hawks.

National teams will dominate the rankings even if they haven’t beaten anyone who is relevant. All Because they ply each other and one of them played a good regional team…so even losing to that regional team gives them a better ranking.

Not to mention there are kids playing for 2 or even three national teams (there are several nationals kids who also ply for nations best, and Jm3).

This means that on any given weekend you might see a top ten team, or a stripped down guest player team.

But they know how to work the system.

You ask why people get worked up? Because children see these things and don’t get it. They are children. But their parents and coaches are left trying to explain how a team who lost to their team twice in a month still gets to be ranked above them. And brag about it. They are kidddsss

Get a clue. Make it real or get rid of it.

You make some good points but the key point is that it's just a simple formula. There is no feasible way to have anything other than that. If it was my formula I'd make W/L be worth extra relative to goal-differential. I'd also cap goal differential at something like 6 or 8 instead of 10. But even with small tweaks there isn't enough overlap of schedules for any ranking to be very accurate. I have no idea how you'd account for "national" teams with their flexible rosters and schedules.

Bottom line is you gotta keep it in perspective. If this bothers you so much you want the website shutdown then you're not going to enjoy your kids experience because there are a mountain of other perceived injustices awaiting you.

Seems like ranking national teams separately would be a defect start. And agree that head to head should hold more weight.

I think in concept of it was just called power ratings or something and marketing what it’s really for would be better.
Poster above could not be more right. Stop worrying about other teams or other kids. Just focus on you and know life is never fair. I have my kid play up and never worry if another is holding back or nonsense like that.Sooner a kid knows life is not fair the better he is going to do. Work hard and love the game.

Yeah, all these little kids should realize that lacrosse is not just a game that’s supposed to be fun! They need to realize it’s an outlet for their non-athlete dads to rank and rate them. What a clown show.

I think that’s the point here. The rankings are so bad in general that they should either fix it to at least make them appear to be realistic or they should get rid of it.

The kids care more about it then they should and ultimately that isn’t healthy for them or the game.

The pressure these kids have on them to perform is already fool for 12 year olds, throw in the non ranking rankings that every club markets and exploits as gospel and you have a recipe for a bunch of burnt out kids who resent the sport
Any national style team should be excluded from rankings.

I think the solution is to block their website on your wifi router. That way you can protect your delicate flower 12 year old from the horrible injustices of the world.

I believe the ranking system is the same as the NCAA so it is hard to game the system by beating lower ranked teams; it in fact actually hurts them to have a weak schedule as this ranking system does take into account the strength of schedule
Hawks or Madlax will take NAL this weekend. No other team will compete with them and especially after Hawks surprising loss to Lax Black in NLF. Only LI team to advance far will be 91 due to once again favorable placement but will get manhandled again by another non-LI club.

So 91 sets the schedule at the NAL now?
91 will have trouble with leading edge.Last time they play LE was missing 2 top guys and Moose plays them well.Express is done but Igloo might make some noise.Hawks or MLC definitely are the favorites.

Money talks son. 91 always finds a way to get favorable placement. You should see they nonsense they pulled off ar NLF last week.
Don’t sleep on Mad Dog National. They beat Madlax at Club Nationals in January.

Was thinking the same thing. They appear to be a very good squad. While they did lose to madlax once as well I think. It appears they knew how to rebound.

Those west coast/central national teams often carry very old kids too. And while that may change things next year, this year it’s still free game.

Should be interesting to see what winner bracket they end up in. Hawks or madlax. I’m sure madlax is hoping for hawks!
Surprise surprise.Look like the older hold back teams are not as near dominant as they should in the “2029” group! Good for LI playing tuff. The teams from everywhere else letting 13-14 year olds run with 11-12 year olds are pathetic.Parents must be proud!

Who had 13/14 year olds on their team? Put your name next to your inside information so you can be proud poster.

What bothers you more? Holdbacks or recruiting non team members to show up for games? A lot of different helmets and practice pennies on plenty of teams this weekend, how did that work out for those teams?
Challenging a person to leave their name while not leaving your name is never a good look holdback daddy.
And most if not all other non LI teams use older kids. That is why when it comes to the World Series you can not compete. You are letting your players play against younger players. That is pathetic. And the fact that you are losing and barely winning makes it even more pathetic !

I didn’t see too many kids in this age/grade group this weekend that i thought, oh look that’s a holdback. 1 that i can think of no doubt, but beyond that, i really don’t think so. Kids have started to grow and most teams had some big kids playing pole.

I think it was a good competitive weekend. Hawks earned their crown no doubt about it. They are #1.
Oh trust me, I saw plenty of kids who are clearly significant holdbacks. 12 year olds don’t have voice changes and aren’t filled out like the ones I saw. Yes you can get some big 13 year olds but when you look at their face and body you can tell they are just tall.

3D NE had a couple For sure. Last week at NLF Laxachusettes definitely had at least one (verified) who was a significant contributor.

Credit to madlax, hawks, and 91 who do not appear to have anything like that rolling out on the field.

I didn’t make false accusations about kids ages!! Who cares about the joke of a rebranded World Series tournament held in the same area as all the other tournaments, not the world.
1) Don’t have qualifiers during the worlds greatest leagues regular season. It’s done on purpose.
2) Do something to make sure a “team that plays together year round” has the same chance as an “patch n play all star team with in 100 miles”. There are a lot more possibilities to find your so called on age players when 50,000 kids live in 1 neighborhood.
3)Not worth the money and more importantly time involved for a youth lacrosse tournament. I’d rather take my family skiing during qualifiers and to the beach during the tournament.

Your excuses for not wanting to attend the World Series are weak

Anyone who’s attended a previous World Series had an amazing and unforgettable experience.

Don’t come and do not worry your entire family won’t be missed at all.
i guess you should get partial credit. madlax and hawks looked age appropriate. leading edge not so much.

all top 4 teams from LI can beat the hawks and madlax.

I agree about the old World Series. An incredible experience. The new one isn’t even close. I have had kids attend both events.
What clowns the 91 LI coaches are. They stood 10 yards onto the field and even crossed the midline in front of the opposing bench at times during NAL. Can’t help but think it’s an ego thing to try to intimidate/disrespect the opponent (and refs, who are reluctant to say anything). Respect the game and your opponents. You’re not that good.

They have a few wins by doing it, so why would they stop.

It is a program wide problem.
It’s supposed to be a warning and then a penalty. Or straight to penalty if it’s as absurd as it was last weekend. Coaches are allowed a bit of leeway for a few yards in front of their own bench, I get it. Glad they went down to Annapolis. Classier team and coaching staff there.

Sensitive Sally! You should have handled it when it occurred.

Saw the same thing at tristar. Coaches on the field, across midline, in front of opposing benches impeding subs and just being jackhats. Won't name teams but there are some terrible coaches (and parents). Let your players plays fellas. And to the dads: let the coaches coach, nobody wants to hear you shout "LIFT!" 1000 times per quarter....
Rebels look poised for a big run next year. Have a great core of players and word has it that many others will jump from current teams and join them after tryouts. Ownership is committed to have this group as well as all the younger age groups dominate the Island!

Yeh he’s right. I heard from my brother’s girlfriends cousin’s next door neighbors podiatrist that Rebels are getting 3 Igloo kids, 2 91 and Express kids and the Legacy team trainer.
Good luck 2029 parents. The next 12 months you will have Maryland parents on your board telling you how the World Series is a waste of money and just another tournament because their kids are too old to participate.
Will Rebels and Rebels East combine for a WS team or send both teams to qualifier?
Does it matter?

They should send both teams to the qualifiers, and let both teams have the experience. Neither team will qualify so at least 50+ kids get the qualifier experience instead of 25-30

NLF is on age next year. No need for the World Series and the extra price tag any more.
NLF goes back to June 1st the year before. Not exactly on age.
91 Pride just beat the Nationals LC two times in one tournament.
Was it the full nationals team though? All the programs that this club pulls from were probably playing this weekend.

It’s on age enough. Forget the extra $$$$ the WS is

Does any one know? Enlighten us all? They had 10 on the field and more than 12 on the sidelines, most of which never saw the field. Full team? How many more can they have? Guess G couldn’t make any phone calls Saturday night to bring in ringers for Sunday.

No to mention they had all 5 or 6 of their Circuit All-Americans. What more did they need?

Sounds like an upset parent. They played a good team and lost if I am not mistaken that’s the 3rd lost to 91 in 2 years.

Ha, All Americans!! The core kids are good players, add in the giants (I don’t care if they are not on age) and they turn great. Take away the giants away and you get this weekend. Look at the ml score from naptown and this weekend, says it all.

22 kids is half their team. Maybe the other 15-20 kids/families saved their money because they got tired of all the guest players showing up to games only and jumping the depth chart line!!
Regardless it’s still an “all star” team with a constant turnstile of players. They lost 3 times in 2 years to 91 and last year they had their full team at Naptown. If LI sets up an all star team with best players from all the organizations, they would be tough to beat as well and that holds the same if any top MD teams add “all star” teams.
First if all. Their roster is fluid. You never know what “full strength” is with those guys. It’s why them and every national team should be ejected from the rankings. Pick a team in July or august like the rest of them and roll with those boys for a year and watch how bad they become. What a joke

Same kids in the Naptown highlight reel on their Instagram were there this weekend. They just got shut down.

Big turnouts at Express and Rebels for tryouts. Not too many at Igloo or 91. The tide is turning. Getting close to jump to Express for the Catholic school advantage.

Can we do “key player” again? For this years tryouts?

Recruiting war rankings:

Most additions
1) 91 Pride
2) Rebels
3) Express

Most losses:
1)Igloo
2)91 Empire
3)Mooselax

These are not rankings. Just based off some collected knowledge
Pride added the express 28 goalie.
91 is winning the World Series, take it to the bank!

What did Igloo loose? obviously based on your collected knowledge
Igloo lost their FOGO to Pride. Plus they weren’t allowed to cut bottom of the roster. Parents holding them hostage. Coaches are furious with Owners.

So why would they be listed with the most losses if they just lost the fogo, I get it important position just trying to follow your logic and your the on the movements for rising 7th graders, plus you just said they weren't allowed to cut bottom of the roster so sounds like no losses just 1....oddly curious

Maybe biggest loss, not most?

I'd think so but the rumor mill is 91 empire lost a lot of players(numbers wise) as a comparison so again just trying to follow the logic... and Express didn't have any wholesale changes( they had the jump the shark moment last yers tryout) again its all speculation so we won't know for a few weeks but always curious where and how people come up with this stuff
So what we’ve learned so far about player movement is basically……nothing. Ok thanks!
We did learn that igloo [Censored]. Parents can dictate the roster. Owner/Coach is a joke.
What positios left 91 Empire?

parents hold their own practices so ownership might as well let them control the roster too
Parents have their own practices? How does that work?

"collected knowledge".. LOL.. Where did you 'collect' this knowledge from? My guess is your kid is on the Rebels and you want to give the impression that there is some sort of momentum there.
My son plays for one of the teams on the "most losses" list, lol. My understanding is that Rebels East and Rebels are taking the best kids from both teams and creating a WS team. They may be a team to watch out for especially if DS and DP are coaching together.
No offense, but the Rebels have never been to the WS and it’s highly unlikely that trend will change. Enjoy the moment, enjoy the journey, it’s over too fast but please keep your expectations realistic. Rebels and WS cant be used in the same sentence.
Like I said in the original text, my son does not play for Rebels but with those 2 coaches and combining those 2 teams, they have a great chance of qualifying. Not saying they are going to win the WS. Never knew someones opinion could be wrong. Your reply shows what's wrong with parents today and how you are all living through your kids.
Give it a rest, Rebels will be lucky to win a game at the qualifiers. 91, Express and possibly Igloo qualify. Moose lax very outside chance.

He needs to know so he can put people down for paying it!
Looks like the #1 team needs to replenish with some on age kids. Couldn’t get it done with the OG’s, sold a bill of goods to many others, free rides for the double holdbacks and friends. Cherish that spot for life dads!

Y’all 91 dudes are hilarious. You realize the team you played was missing like 6 or 7 starters including goalie and a bunch of other key players right? You really think the team that beat the hawks was the one y’all beat. Lol. You Long Island folk really do love yourselves.

They rolled 35 deep at Naptown. Y’all played the third team who didn’t get to play in the big boy tourney.

Now in English please.
It’s still an “all star” team. Can’t hack it with local and on age players so you need to establish a rotating national club to appear significant.

Exactly why we need age and team verification. It’s easy, line the boys up holding their cards and the ref and opposing coach walks the line. Should take 2 minutes tops and both teams get a fair game.

Can you do “key player” moves for this years tryouts? You inundated us last year with those posts. Please do this year.

It still baffles me how you can assume anyone changed drastically by add 1/2 players in a team game. Btw Express has still not beaten igloo even after adding probably 10 new kids last year . Do they just continue to be a top team because of the name?
Igloo Dad not happy. Wait until he learns that everyone eventually leaves for 91 or Express.

actually not but thanks for your concern...has to make the express/91 crowd happy tho that there kids will be replaced by igloo kids ..guess you just proved my point so ty for your intelligent response

Ever going to happen. Stop paying for club lacrosse and pay for a tutor, the return in value is much higher. Scholarship money for lacrosse is minimal, for a great GPA you can get a full ride.

Yes if any of the Igloo kids are good enough they will leave for Express/91 so don’t expect Igloo to be any good. See their older teams….Not good! I’m sure the 2029’s will be the one Igloo team to beat the odds.

Couldn't be more wrong. Lacrosse is a gateway to academias you could not reach based on strictly grades.
When Igloo doesn't qualify for the WS, you will see mass exodus. In fact some may leave before the season is over. The number of spots available starting next year are harder to come by. The better players on Igloo might be able to find a place on Express or 91, but that is limited to the top 4-5. The rest will be in a bit of a pickle.

Many activities are for a minority of students. A college needs to fill every spot on all teams, activities, clubs, etc. Then they can admit "regular Joes." However, colleges won't admit a kid they don't think can keep up academically.

For only a very small percentage of all lacrosse players going to high D1 of high D3. The vast majority, lacrosse doesn’t help them punch above their academic weight class. And even then, for the high academic schools your grades need to be somewhat “close”
I detest when people say “pay for a tutor” what does even mean? It’s like saying most kids that play lacrosse have poor academics.
So why are you on this forum? Quit lacrosse and go study.
Good luck to the girls chasing a top 20 ranked lacrosse team, most would have zero interest, that investment in time doesn’t position kids for success after college, which is all that matters.

They tied Igloo this season so to think Igloo is better is a joke. They are a top team because they win 75% of their games and play a very difficult schedule. This guy will be the only person shocked when Igloo’s best players try to leave for 91/Express next year and the year after.
1) What happened to 91 Empire, seems they lost a lot this year.
2) Rebels once again proves its all about parent/coach relationships and not skill.
The Igloo dad is painful. Guessing his son barely sees the field. This conversation has little bearing on him, his son will not be able to switch teams and will be stuck with Tony Tantrums.

Rebels team seems to have added a lot of skill… time will tell only about 6 teams that can compete this year… decent parity though

The Rebels are not competing.

LI teams actually competing are 91/Express/Igloo/Mooselax

#2 it’s about that huh? Nothing about your sons happiness or well being, just make sure you and coaches have a great relationship. Got it. I’ll pass that wisdom to my sons club directors.

Stop. Please.
Rebels could bring their National Team and they wouldn’t win a game at the Qualifiers. Agree with the above, please stop. I’m sure it’s a nice place to play, but the program just cant compete at the top level no matter how many teams they combine. 91 and Express will be the only teams to qualify. Igloo is poorly run and Moose has never been to qualifiers. Both are long shots.
Don't forget 10 teams qualify. I think more then 2 LI teams will qualify.
Not forgetting, just recalling past history. 2028 group was much stronger than the 2029 group and only 3 teams qualified from LI. 91 won the qualifiers and Express lost in Quarters. Legacy made it in, but by the skin of their teeth. Legacy went on to have an extremely dismal experience at the WS. Express and 91 did well but both failed. Point is, Igloo and Moose have a tough road ahead, and both lack the depth required to compete. You have to take into account the Westchester, CT and Mass teams, all of whom will cheat and bring kids from all over, a method LI teams do not practice. We wish Igloo and Moose luck, but its going to be an uphill battle.
World Series will be interesting and may tell us something about Igloo, Moose, 91 and Express. They are all on par with one another but the World Series should tell us if they are all really good or they just seemed good because they are normally just compared to each other.

I don't really have an opinion on this but I think it's worth pointing out that the 2028 class from LI only has 1 team ranked in the top 20 (and only 3 in the top 50!). The 2029 class has 4 in the top 20. I get that the rankings are far from perfect but I question the premise that the 2028 group was much stronger. At least by that metric, the 2028 class is the weakest in years.
2029’s are also a year behind. Let’s see where they rank next year. Also 2 of the 4 teams rarely play down south against the MD DC VA teams. Let’s see their records when they have to face top teams in qualifiers and WS IF they make it. Going to take some losses I can assure you!

They all played down south. All 4 of them were at NAL & Tristar. Express & 91 did NLF events. And Mooselax went to Md for the Pinnacle event. Igloo had the only suspect tournament playing B/C teams at Hershey. But I doubt you’ll see them go there again. They all played good teams at the top of the rankings.

100% correct. I’m a 2028 parent. Huge disparity between the competition you faced this year verses next year. I’m not sure how the holdback/reclass thing will play out for your year considering the recent rule changes. Hopefully your children will not have to face a bunch of teams stacked with them. It’s not fun.

Just join the same club team that all your Manhasset friend’s kids play for. Strength in numbers, you get practices when and where you want as well as starting time or else half the team leaves for another club.

That smells like 91 to me
Legacy will make noise in the qualifiers. A bunch of 2028's are still eligible. Same with Rebels.
Stop! I’m laughing so hard right now…. LWSC will probably accept a 2030 team to the qualifiers before legacy and rebels.

You can not compare a 13-15-1 team to Moose,Drift, Pride or Moran. Look at the records and the level of competition. Keep wasting your money or have your child tryout for one of the big 4 otherwise shut it.

First of all, you don’t get “accepted” to the qualifiers. You simply register your team and cough up the money. Secondly, why are you all obsessed with a tournament that will occur in March of 2024?
Yeh but everyone knows Igloo and Moose will lose their better players to 91 and Express every year.

Here is the first of many Maryland Dad’s trying to convince everyone that Age verified tournaments are terrible.
Not saying Rebels are going to be the top team. They definitely got better by combining east and Central. they also got Empires best kids along with a few from other organizations. As far as WS, they have 5-6/28's that are very good players and age eligible.

Actually I’m a 2028 Long Island parent. My son played last year in the World Series. It was a great experience and what made it even better was the fact that it’s was age verified. I was simply pointing out that you do not get accepted to the qualifiers. You pay your fees and you compete for a chance to make the event.
Thanks Larry, I think the original post was taking a shot at legacy and the rebels. Its nice they can buy their way in, and even nicer for teams to keep it within 7-8 goals when playing them at the qualifiers.
Is that little Larry lies a lot?
Anyone have any feedback on shore2shore? There price is 3950 for the year but includes the winter indoor prax. Vs express with is 4400 for the year and you have to pay extra for the winter indoor prax? I do believe express has overall less practice days within the year as well.
I would worry less about money, it’s all relative. Be concerned more with the coach and their ability to teach your child the game. 1 good practice far outweighs 3 bad practices. If your son is in an environment they are learning, developing and happy, you are good and money should not be of no consequence
Stay away from S2S - Complete money grab especially at the B level. If your kid isn't the top 13 on the roster he won't get any playing time either.
If you want to be on a 40 kid roster Express is your choice. Only problem is S2S not very good at 29

That’s true of every club team.

Across every age group all of the 91 coaches sons made their teams again. It’s amazing that not 1 kid got demoted to the B team never mind getting cut. They all made it again this year. It’s an Incredible achievement.

Even more amazing was the results from this past summer.
Is 91 the only club who has dad coaches? So express and igloo don’t? Most dad coaches have kids on the team!! I don’t think it’s a fair statement to call out only 91. And across most age groups regardless of dad coaches 91 is either top or very close to it.

Yes thankfully they recruit well at the positions the coaches kids don’t play.
Don’t sleep on the Rebels! They will be the surprise team this year………you heard it here first!
Rebels are awesome. Taking down all 29 Long Island teams
Nobody said that Eisenstein. Rebels Black is 90% returning sting kids, East, and best empire kids. then a couple studs from so called top clubs. Let's pick this up in the fall
is it true rebels ws team took 91 empire kids over rebels and rebels east kids? if so, no loyalty!!
There is no such thing as a Rebels WS Team.

Couple of studs from so called top clubs? No one from Igloo, 91, Express or Legacy left for the Rebels.

Those are the top clubs.
I’m unfamiliar with the Rebels and apparently so is US Club Lax rankings. Let’s talk about competitive teams on here.

Check the team at #65

That’s them.
All starts sept first. Goodbye Holdbacks.

65 is solid A- / B+ territory
Solid no World Series territory
it's not WS territory. It has to be about the qualifier. Top 10 from our qualifier qualify.for WS. They may qualify then get beat bad. I do believe Rebels Black will qualify.
Anyone know why the Rebels are still holding supplemental tryouts throughout August? Do they not have enough good kids to create competitive teams at certain ages? Their younger teams are good but what about the 2027, 28 and 29 teams?
I don't think it's 90% returning Sting kids, most of the better ones left for other teams that are far more competitive. They'll get a few good kids from East and Empire but they are also bringing up kids from their B team so not sure how competitive they will be? Sounds like they need a lot of work to be able to compete with the likes of 91, Igloo, Moose and Express?

I want a team that wants the best players. Loyalty lol the longer you are in lacrosse you will find less and less loyalty

Funny you think they care about getting “good kids”
They don’t care. They have plenty of kids, but they don’t care if they are good or bad!
Have fun reading about the World Series lol.
Rebels are not qualifying for the WS. Two teams from Long Island have a shot and maybe a third. The current rankings mean nothing. Qualifiers anyone who pays gets in. The top 2030 teams could beat Rebels 29.

You really banking on 6th grade lacrosse as a barometer of your kid going D-1? Oh boy

Not sure what this means. Don’t think anyone is saying that. I think this means if you are on a B team you will find a college amongst the 300 non D1 / non high d3 college out there
No top players left Rebels. Couple backups, and a Good Goalie. He was Replaced by 91 and Empire kids. hearing they are better.
Stop. Top kids don’t leave and then their replacements are better. Cut it out. Especially kids from Empire. Historical C program and no street cred other than 91 owns them now. Rebels are a mess. Low level A team, compete with bottom of the bucket. Just be happy to beat legacy and the turtles. World Seires can be viewed on YouTube from home enjoy.

91 Dad
91 Goalie that went to Rebels is real deal.
He was the Power goalie and that team is terrible. If he was the real deal they would’ve moved him up to Pride. Truth is the goalie that left Rebels was the real deal. Whoever he’s playing for now got a good player.
OK 91 Daddy

This poster is either misinformed, new to club lax on LI or just a s*it stirrer. 91 Pride has 4 players that have been moved up from Power over the past 2-3 years.
Igloo wins World Series this year. Made some great pickups this offseason. Coaching is top notch. Don’t see anyone that can stop them when it matters.

I have respect for Igloo but they haven’t really every won anything of significance. It’s the same bravado that Rebels also pairs across all ages: they also haven’t really won anything. Both decent teams (Igloo>Rebels) but cmon.

Facts are they will have a hard time gaining possession this year.

Why would that caliber of player leave if there is top notch coaching and great pick ups?
Igloo and Rebels won’t qualify

lol - wow 4 total kids in 3 years. Which means they needed to fill the bottom end of their roster so they can offer new players scholarships to leave. How many were coaches kids? Or friends of a coaches kid!

But last year it did right? When one player went the other way? That was the end of 91 correct? Igloo was better? We can scroll back and quote the posts if you like.
Who are the likely qualifiers in North?

There is very little difference between the top 3 , the wildcard is moose, rebels sorry to say just hasn’t proven anything yet so let’s just see what happens . On any given day in any tournament igloo can compete with 91 and 91 can come with igloo , express has tied at best with them both , and moose could shock any one of them . Not sure rebels are in the conversation at this point u til anyone sees them compete on the field. Let the kids figure it out on the field

91 Dad coach is upset. It’s ok you guys are probably top 4 team on the island. That’s still pretty good.
Good news is when 91 doesn’t win World Series this year a bunch of new kids will get free tuition next season.

Club Lax is a sport where you essentially need money to play it. I agree with spending money on tutors but I’m guessing most kids who don’t commit high d3 or high d1 are all that interested in tutors or academics. So many times, I’ve seen kids make the lacrosse decision instead of the academic decision just so they can say they committed to play lacrosse. Maddening, these 4 year decisions with lifetime consequences. But like I said, if your goal is to play lax and you don’t care what the level is you will find a home and many of these schools, you also don’t need a tutor to get in

So the good lacrosse players are also the smart kids? My God it’s so pathetic. What an exhausting bunch of people lacrosse parents are. Just remember, there is no money in the sport, the investment you make in club lacrosse, lessons, training etc will never ever be recovered through any athletic scholarship for lacrosse.
People don’t get it. Investment is not made for scholarships. It’s made to give your child a better opportunity in life. If lacrosse gets your child across the line and into a better college, then there is no value you can put on it. Most kids aren’t going to a good college just with grades. You need something else, lax is that vehicle. Need to see the big picture not box yourself in with the waste of money excuse. Even if they don’t get into a good school with lax you’ve given them an experience 99% of the population will never have. Interact with coaches parents and teammates. Social and moral character is built during these years and that is a skill or asset that is critical to be successful later in life. More to it than just throwing money at clubs.
Thanks Mike!
That guy gets it. The Mike CoachC comment while funny shows how dense that guy is.

Dude. It sound like you are trying to have any arguement with yourself. No one here is saying lacrosse ROI is worth it. From a financial standpoint lacrosse makes zero sense. However this is a lacrosse forum and people are talking about the perceived value of lacrosse relatively to the sport itself. I’m sure you get on all the Bentley forums as well and say put money on tutors and education. Only person that’s pathetic on a lacrosse forum and the the person posting on a not-serious lacrosse forum about how notIntelligent lacrosse posts are.

With regards to the best students it is a well known fact that most of these high performing colleges don’t have a lot of wiggle room with the exception of 1-2 athletes. Most athletes are in the ballpark when it comes to their respective institutions so yes, they have to be kind of smart
Thankyou mr. know it all!

I'm sure they are and they've added some good talent over the past couple of seasons and continue to get better. They consistently play our team tough and can definitely go head to head with the top 3-4 teams on LI and regionally. From the games I've watched, it's pretty much "Any Given Sunday" when the top LI teams play each other and the gap between them has gotten much smaller 91 and the games are fun to watch. If you took out the National teams form the US Club Rankings, the top four LI clubs would be in the top 15, and they don't reclass players, that's a big difference. I'll guess we'll find out soon enough once the season starts.

Very true. The next couple of seasons many players will be jockeying to get in a position for the recruiting years thus moving to 91/Express. I would expect Igloo, Moose and others to take a hit in “free agency”.

It’s because top talent wants to be on top teams. And play in top tournaments. Apart from Naptown and a few other events, NLF events draw in the best teams imho

2way and Preds are better than express north at the 29 level. EN is pretty weak
Way to early predictions! Lets see how the fall goes i'm sure there will be some early shake-up, am I missing anyone?

Going to Qualify
Team 91
Eclipse
LI Express
Igloo

Should Qualify
2 Way
Predators
Mooselax
Orange Crush

Dark Horses to Qualify
Sweetlax
Express North
Legacy
Primetime
Rebels
I think everyone is jumping the gun here till we see what the teams look like. Which kids are excluded because of age and which 2028’s are still age eligible. Some teams are going to stretch the 100 mile radius to the max to bring in kids for this event only. I think the only guarantee is the Rebels will not qualify.

This is actually correct minus the rebels comment. No need for the negativity. Time will tell.
Okay meatball!
Only 3 Long Island teams qualified for the last LWSC. I wouldn’t expect more than that this year either. There are teams that don’t even exist right now that will qualify.
What programs have age ineligible kids? Which have student 28's that can play. Think all have a 28 team, except Moose

Another holdback
Express 28 F/O also at 2way and will reclass to 29 shortly
