Please give credit where credit is due. Crush to this point in the season (with more work yet to do) has accomplished enough to put them in a very good position.

No disrespect at all. They have been in the top 5 team conversation from the beginning. They did have an easier path to the playoffs, only having to play 2 of the top teams and none of the potential "upset" teams. They are a top 5 team regardless of their schedule, but it was less challenging on paper.

The 27 board isn't disrespecting the 28 team, they were only saying Skywalkers may benefit if Crush 28s don't stay together into recruiting years (which is in some ways a compliment). Saying Crush had the easiest schedule of the top 5 teams isn't disrespect either, it's objective fact. Everyone in the top 5 had at least 2 hard games, and kudos to them for handling these games well. But beyond that, when the discussion of GA comes into play, they didn't play any even remotely challenging teams (ex. Pride, Skywalkers, or even Stars). They could easily finish the rest of the season and allow fewer than 5 goals in altogether. It's not their fault, someone always ends up with the easiest schedule, but it is what it is.

Any insights/predictions on the other big game this weekend: Hero’s v. M&D. Should be a good one with a playoff spot on the line.

Coppermine has lost one game this entire year since Fall. Now they are going to lose two games in one day and fail to make the playoffs for the first time ever? No parent from any other team would make such a ridiculous prediction so safe to assume it is a troll by someone from Coppermine looking for the exact attention they are now getting. Lot of Pride love on here. No chance Pride knocks off Coppermine at all. Have they improved this year, sure, but they still cant close a game out against top 5. Wont happen

Was only a week ago heard the MDU over Crush prediction... Predictions may be fun but game is played on the field and although the game was not as close as the score indicated 5-4 OT (sorry couldn't resist that one) there are still 2 to 3 games to be played by all. This could change rapidly... good teams have to stay focused weekly not get caught looking down the road.

Agree, don't see Pride knocking off Coppermine but will be closer than expected.

Looks like the Crush/FCA line was just a bit off! -11 prediction to -3 actual. Same spread as Pride's win last week. Maybe FCA improved a bit from their opening loss to SW.

And Heroes Green over M&D by 1 must have been a great game (with a better line)

The last playoff piece. M&D or MD United for the last playoff spot. GA for M&D is 28 but play FCA (playing better) and SW (lost Stars Blue this weekend) vs GA for MD United is 31 but only play NEMS. Predictions?

I think GA is the stat used only if if there is a 3 or more teams tied for the last spot. So if pride beats stars then the GA stat comes into place. MDU will not let up more than 2 to nems. So their GA final should be 33. So can M&D hold FCA and SW to 2 goals each? possible. It will be tight race.

If pride loses to stars, however, then the GA stat is no longer relevant since they would have 3 losses and it would only be a 2 way tie between M&D and MDU and MDU wins based on head to head competition.

Improved Pride will not lose to improved Stars, even if it a Virginia rivalry game. That said, I think MDU has the clearer path here with Goals Against.

MDU could easily shut out NEMS if they made that their objective. That said, M&D holding FCA and SW to a total of 4 goals is a tough task. SW is averaging 10 goals a game. M&D would have to play an ugly game of keep away for 30+ minutes in each game, and a turnover or transition goal or two, much less a free position (given how tightly fouls are called) seems very likely.

Shocking as it is to see M&D left out of the playoffs, it looks like the fourth spot is probably going to MDU. Goal Differential would have been preferable.

Yeah head to head gets thrown out if there's a 3 way tie, so if Pride beats Stars then the determining factor is who has best GA. Seems like Pride ought to beat Stars, but Stars will likely throw everything they've got at them for DMV bragging rights. Ultimately, MDU could hold NEMS to 0 goals so odds are definitely in their favor.

I don't think the game will be close at all. Hero's will be too much for Crush to handle. It will be a Hero's v Coppermine final - with Coppermine taking it all.

MDU matches up best with Coppermine yet they had the biggest margin of loss compared to crush and hero’s. Was it just an off day for them? Crush already played a 1 goal game with coppermine and Hero’s only lost by 2, so it is definitely anyone’s trophy at this point. The hero’s/ coop game was the 1st of the season so it will come down to who improved the most.

I'll offer mine. I don't agree that Heroes Green is "so strong" relative to Crush and MDU. I believe Crush can, and likely will, win that game. Crush played Coppermine closer than Heroes and beat MDU, is balanced and well-coached as you noted. Heroes is a very good team, but I think they are in a group with the others (Crush, MDU, and M&D), not a notch above.

Coppermine, however, as demonstrated with the dominating 11-5 win over MDU on Sunday is a notch above this year. That's been building since last Summer despite the Heroes parents' best attempts to describe them as a 2-girl (plus goalie) team, that is mistake prone. I don't see it. They are strong in every line and play a consistent, grinding style, with a fast break here and there to punctuate their balance. Eagle Stix would appear to be their only peer right now.

Honestly, yes I have felt that way! However, if your daughter also feels that way? It’s time to get her out of the sport and go enjoy the family weekends! She May get more from that in the long run anyways!? Weigh the pros and cons. What’s the end game? Can’t get time back!
