Another worthy tournament in DE

Looking at the ranking and records, it looks like the Maryland teams play club during the "school" season in the spring? Is it a separate league where the local club teams all play each other?

Howard County league for the mid Atlantic teams. Very competitive with Madlax, Next Level, Hawks, FCA, Crabs all in the Elite division. There are 40 teams in the 2028 division.

Tourney Machjne has 91 Venom getting smoked by a B level Team 11. 13-3. They must have the score flipped??

Very strange

Rebels and Rush played in "B" tournaments this weekend. Turtles traveled to NJ to play 2029 team. Program is falling apart. Legacy needs new goalies and coaches if they will ever have a chance to challenge the big boys.

Any impartial observers care to share any commentary on MadLax vs. Venom game?

Assume there will be some unverified claims of holdbacks, impartial refs, face off violations-ghost or not called, 91 only plays 9 guys etc.,

Was surprised by both the outcome/margin of Venom and Hawks and also outcome/margin MadLax and Venom.

Two very good teams 91 and Madlax… both very physical. Hawks very good too. They are a very skilled, finesse team that couldn’t match 91’s size and physicality in the Semis. These teams will all have some great matchups this summer at Naptown, PrimeTime, and NLF.

You realize this is BOC! You’ll get nothing factual.

When I think 91 venom I don’t think size. Interesting.

They have bigger problems than goalies. And where are you growing these better goalies???

Texas. The Texas Nationals had two goalies. One of whom was a brick wall versus Venom.

They are BIG. 11 is prob 6-0, 10 lbs. they’re big across the board. Out muscled Hawks bigtme… Madlax was able to match the physicality this time, but these games will be fun to watch, hope they get a rematch soon!

Venom trotted out a pole that was bigger than most of the dads. Looked like a 2026.

How many players they have to get threw before they get to the goalies.

Venom has one player that def stick out size wise but I would hardly call them a “big team” especially vs non LI teams. But if you’re going to call out numbers how about 81 from Texas (bigger faster stronger and I would assume a h…back) or 47 who we all know is a double.

47 blah blah blah again not a double but delude yourself all you want and get ready for 8th grade holdback gold rush. All you holdback scrutinizers will be losing your collective minds.

TX Nationals never played ML. But I'm sure many BOC chain rattlers know otherwise.

Madlax had a player from the Texas nationals this past weekend.

I actually agree with you - for as bad as it’s been it’s only going to get worse.

The 2 biggest kids were Venom kids.

ML dad here. I will attempt to give you my unvarnished take:

I watched the Venom vs Hawks game before we played in the finals. The Hawks looked strong at first. Fast as heck in the midfield (which was to be expected), solid passing at top speed, moved the ball very quickly. Nobody on the offense kept in their stick for very long. Hard to pin point why they collapsed, but Venom was good at keeping control of the ball and their D was solid in the hoop forcing outside shots.

To be totally honest, after watching that game I thought we were in for a tough one (i.e, likely loss)...and I wasn't alone thinking that amongst the ML parents. Our semi game ended about ~30 mins after H vs V and our guys were pretty gassed and only had about 20 mins to rest. Maybe that was a plus because V came out and was flat footed and didn't seem like the same team I had just watched. The V coaches were blowing a gasket when they went down 3 or 4 to 0 very quickly. That wasn't helpful, and our coach, who you all know and love, was ODDLY very quiet this game. I don't know the Venom coaches at all because we have never played them before. I know when our coach goes bonkers and tries joy-stick coaching the boys freeze up and everything collapses (it usually happens against Next Level, which makes no sense to me but what do I know!).

Our defense matched the physical play and the refs let it go for about 60% of the game and then it started getting a bit out of control. ML was also able to win a few face offs, which has always been a problem for our team, and if it isn't fixed our NAL win could be an anomaly. Long summer and I expect and hope to see more battles.

We are looking forward to playing 3d New England. Another solid team who we have never played. So if you have any tips there send them my way.

As an aside, MadDog played us very hard. They have a fantastic faceoff guy......maybe it was just the way the position matchups fell. I haven't looked at how they did otherwise, but a solid team.

Thx for the balanced analysis. Saw 3D NE in the fall. Big and athletic D poles similar to Express North. Excellent goalie.

I guess after coming in 4th in the HOCO coach needed to make some changes. They obviously worked, good squad. Must stink if you’re a Madlax regular who shows up for practice games etc to lose PT to out of town players.
