Gilman should to re-evaluate their entire athletic department. The Headmaster and Board are anti competitive sports.

Gilman will drop to B conference for all sports within the next 3-4 years.

Next year's MIAA preseason rankings:

SP: Almost everyone is back with the exception of their strong LSM. This coaching staff is serious about winning it all next year.
CHC: They lose some key defenders and offensive threats but just re-load. They will be in the mix.
SM: Strong offense returning. Missing most top defenders and a keeper. However, will re-load from a strong JV program.
McD: Missing a majority of starting defenders and a keeper. Offense only loses a couple middies. Will make semis again.
Severn: Almost everyone is back. Depth will be an issue as always but they will look to dominate FOs.
Boys Latin: Despite losing a lot, they just re-load as always. Keeper will be tough to replace.
Loyola: Lost their two best AA poles. They were anemic on offense and at the X. A top six finish for them would be great.
Gilman: Talent gap is too big to overcome for any coach especially one not empowered to or experienced at recruiting.
JC: Big strides this year with the victory over CHC. If they keep the recruits home, they will be a force.
MSJ: Young team that will knock off some of the Conference's more storied programs in the next couple of years.

No Spalding, Rumors were Spalding headed to B after this year with Gilman joining soon thereafter, Is that what you are telling us

Don't know enough about Spalding to opine: Aside from losing a bunch of super talented 22s, what does their talent pipeline look like? Will all members of this extremely accomplished coaching staff remain?

It was a real shame that these super talented extremely accomplished people were absent when the leagues best teams and coaches got together for the games at Navy last week.

Yes, Nodie is working his magic at Washington College just like he did at Gilman with a 10-loss, 4-win season this year. What a dream job he’s doing. LoL
Maybe he can hire Gilman’s ‘solid’ grade-school-level lacrosse staff for next year and start a Dream Team in Chestertown.
He's forgotten more about lacrosse than you will ever know!
And by the looks of his record at Gilman and Washington College he has forgotten a lot.

It did seem odd that the former coach was there for a year and got out quick.

He saw the writing on the wall. Can’t blame him. He was used to Haverford.
Was also the AD at Haverford

I know Gilman and Washington haven’t been relevant in over 20 years. And both schools don’t have the desire to be relevant again.

But maybe if we can go back to the 1950s-70s when only a dozen schools played lacrosse, they could be good again.

I don't have a dog in the fight but I think you can make a pretty good argument Spalding was the third best team in the Conference at the end of the year after McD and BL. In any case the top six teams were all pretty evenly matched. Hats off to all six of the playoff coaching staffs!

Third best lol. Lost to McDonough 2x. Lost to BL. Lost to Calvert Hall. Beat STM by 1 goal probably best win all season.
No playoff wins.
Spalding will have no seniors that will start next year and it’s back to the bottom of the league. No goalie no fogo. No mids no attackman and No defense.

How impactful/useful are the various “prospect” days some of the high schools have for middle school players?

I’m a parent of a 7th grader/2027.

They will be back winning championships in the B league when the 31s and 32s arrive.

Gilman, like WAC and Hopkins, will never be good at lacrosse. WAC because why go there? Hopkins again why go there where crime is deplorable. Gilman like small private schools will only be competitive again once the administration, board and the athletic program is restructured with a plan like McD , BL and CHC.
