Does anyone remember an MIAA team that was considered the best team in the country? Recall Landon’s 2017 team being number 1.

Delayed results due to rain postponement:

Bullis beat St Albans 10-9
Landon huge upset over prep 6-5
SSSAS over Episcopal 16-5

Thought Prep was going to be best team in conference. Now could be Prep, Landon or a very young Bullis team.

Up more goals to Severn than they have all year.

Apples vs. Oranges. The lower A conference teams can still beat the best public school teams 9 out of 10 tries. That game will make Severna Park better going forward.

I was at both games Monday. Severn would beat SP 99/100 times and SM would beat Broadneck by 7+ 100/100 times.

Where is this coming from? SP and Broadneck are great in AACPS league play but could never "consistently" hold a torch to any MIAA teams. Like it or detest it... that is reality.

It is coming from a prior post. The writer seemed a little surprised by the number of goals Severna Park gave up....To which there were some comments.

During the last 20 years, there have a been a couple of public school programs who in their best years could compete with the upper half of the MIAA: Hereford and SP (in their best year) come to mind. Too much depth and IQ in the MIAA. Typically, top public school teams can hang for a quarter and then get blown out.

But there are 20+ public schools that would be the top MIAA B team every year. As big as the gap between MIAA A and public, the gap is even bigger for MIAA A and MIAA B.

This is also coming from the public-school fans and “everyone gets a trophy” group. The two guys doing the Baltimore Sun and VSN polls don’t want to put all 11 MIAA teams at the top of the polls, despite the fact they are actually the best 11 teams in the region.

They gotta throw some public schools in there for “readership” purposes. Even though we have seen repeatedly, that they don’t belong, and can’t perform at a high level consistently.

There have been a few that have been up towards the top in recently, but there's so much talent these days that most years there isn't a legitimate uncontested number 1 team. Even that 2017 Landon team was co-#1 with Darien.

The last legit uncontested #1 from the MIAA was BL in 2014.

McDonogh was given the crown in 2016 by IL, but objectively speaking Hill Academy was more deserving. And frankly Victor and Darien were as good or better than McDonogh as well.

2019 there was no clear best team between Culver, St. A's, and CH. It always tickled me though that IL mad Culver and CH co-#1's and put St. A's third when CH had the weakest resume of the three.

11-10 st Mary’s is in a dog fight with a crappy public school. MIAA isn’t as tough as we thought. ST M has played their starters the whole game. Even if we lose you all look like stink holes. I can’t stop laughing. LFG Falcons!

And the Falcons took St Marys to OT the next day while losing 80% of the face off’. How can that possibly happen???/ Public school lacrosse really stinks. Your best MIAA team played their starters for the whole game and won 12-11 in OT. Any given Wednesday any MIAA team that has players double re-classed and on scholarship for lacrosse only can get embarrassed. We hit the wall ….you huge BadPerson! Losing in OT is as good as beating every public school for the next 10 years. Just say….” Public school lacrosse is legit” Because if you say any excuse it makes you look like a bigger bag…..We paid nothing for HS and have more money for a better college….laughing all the way to a higher education and 1 lucky goal from beating your best team. Lol!

St Marys gave up the 2nd most goals of the year besides the almighty Calvert Hall ..Severna Park thanks the Saints for playing their best players all game…much respect for knowing if you pulled all of the starters after the first quarter like you did vs Broadneck you lose this game today by 5…big ups to coach Lily for leaving no excuses for almost losing to a public school. Way to know you had a dog fight after the first qtr and you couldn’t pull your entire DI starting roster….also you need to burn those turd stained shorts! SP has 3 players better than 3 of your starters & Lily tried hard to get them but they passed because St Marys is a significantly lower educational institution than free SP. Thanks for reaffirming our decision.
