January 1 is right around the corner and that means its soon to be lacrosse season. High school boys been in the gym all fall and time to get after it in February. I think it will be a great MIAA season for all. Lots of energy and lots of growing up to do. Cant be easy for the teams having missed a whole year.

Should be neck and neck down the stretch with Calvert Hall, McD, BL, and Loyola. St Marys and Seven should show up- they have some talent. St P and Gilman will struggle. John Carroll, St Joes and Spalding will struggle per usual.

Defense Edge- Loyola
Attack Edge- Calvert Hall
Midfield Edge- McDonogh
X Factor Edge- BL
Goalie Edge- McDonogh
Face Off Edge- ??
Coaching Edge- Calvert Hall
Deepest Senior Class- Loyola
Biggest Collapse- Spalding
Biggest Wow- St P is THAT bad
AACo Winner- St Marys
Brightest Future- Severn

Soccer? If your kid is to soft for lacrosse let him play soccer. Chess club signups are coming up soon too. Mary Mary.

SP is void of talent at the 23, 24, 25, and 26 class. Whitty better start recruiting. SP kids like pasta. “SOFT”

If Johnny is going to get into College it ain't gonna be by failing AP classes at a public high school. It's gonna be by getting a "quality education" (ie, having his hand held through a cakewalk 4 year track) at an MIAA school.

laugh

Lax is watered down physically to what it was. Soccer has more contact. Don’t need to be tough anymore to place, when big hits are delivered legally, they get whistled now.

Waivers won’t hold up when it is shown that the tournament allowed overage kids to play. It hasn’t been contested yet, rest assured it is coming. Blatant disregard for players safety, negligence on both club and tournament.

Probably could also persue a lawsuit against the 18 year old playing 16 year olds, assault and battery, adult on minor.

Be honest with yourself, lax has become incredibly soft, so soft that it’s acceptable to allow kids to play down in ages. Most real sports allow the talented to play up, not lax, it’s so soft you can play down up to 2 years!

Pillow fighting is more physical than lax.

Yes they do, difference is the fresh/soph playing varsity it good enough to be there skills, mentally and physically. The 15 year old 8th grader is playing down.

Playing up is not the issue, playing down is! Though, lax is so watered down physically, it is one of the only sports you could do it in. Really no difference physically anymore between the girls lax and boys except the helmets.

Stop bad mouthing lacrosse. Playing down ( holdbacks) has been a MIAA tradition for many years. With Club explosion in last 5-7 years, everyone has decided they wanted to play down too like the private school holdbacks.

BL and McD arent far behind with their 19 years olds. I enjoy watching college freshman ( oops I mean HS seniors) compete at the High School level.

So is being allowed to play down a liability or not. One minute your saying it’s dangerous and could led to law suits and then your saying it’s “watered down”. Clowns all around.

Assault and battery? What a Clown.

You have an 18 year old get made to look a fool by a 16 year old, said 18 year old gets embarrassed and frustrated and comments a dirty foul injuring the 16 year old, yes its assault by an adult on a minor.

The sport isn’t a fraction of what it used to be physically. Esports teams have worse injuries than lax play, with the exception of goalkeeper

Do you really believe that lacrosse is the only sport that has re-classed players? You should take your complaint to US Lacrosse.

It’s ok because it’s not against the rules and people can do what they want. Kids are held back for many reasons. Who are you to tell people what’s a legit reason and what’s not? You don’t know the WHY.

Always played in leagues that were 9u 11u 13u 15u
Then high school where if talented enough playing against kids 3-4 years older-
Each of those U seasons meant that you played at each for 2 years - one year on the younger side and one year on the older side-
Played, soccer, basketball and lacrosse-
People complaining about holdbacks still is just an excuse for their kid..

Terps top attackman is returning for his 5th year and has to be 25-26 years old. He is getting praise for the entire lacrosse community- except I guess little Johnny who is an 18-19 year old freshman who dad wants him to transfer now because it’s not fair!!

Yeah you definitely held back your kid and just can’t admit it was for lacrosse lmao. It’s almost always to gain an advantage in sports gtfo that’s such a cop out. How many times do you see your average student getting held back? Not much. There’s a reason it happens so much in sports and it’s to gain an advantage on the field. Holding your kid back for sports is a weak and lost thing to do no matter the sport. “Oh little Timmy you were just an average player when you were playing kids your own age, let’s just have you compete against kids younger than you so can finally be good and not have to work for it!”

I'm sorry your kid keeps getting rolled through game after game and barely plays. You should try USL based teams.

Not every good player was re-classed. I’m sure you tell your little guy that after ever game. Don’t worry son most of those players were re-classed. That’s why they are good.

EVERY college player just re-classed. Better hire your attorney. Clown
