NO fall league/tournament is using the new face-off rules yet. Primarily because officials haven't been trained how to adjudicate the new rules.

The refs should have watched the 1/2 hr video and used the new rules. They need practice just like the kids - perhaps more so. Fall ball is to prepare for spring and people are much more willing to accept errors on the part of the kids and refs in the fall now vs. in the spring.
Agree. Any decent ref should be able to read a summary of it. Then go out and work on in Fall games.
