Igloo is mid July, the same week as the Brine National Classic. Is that why no Igloo kids were at the tryouts?
A lot of teams are in July. It seems to be the new thing. True blue is in July also. Team 24 --July. We will see if this results in more player movement. This is the year that starts the trend that most kids will stay where they are and teams don't make that many changes. Too late for teams to change and will stick with paying customers who stuck with the team for years. Kids don't move either as it is hard to get a coach to think the new kid is as good as kids who have been with a program for years and relationships have developed with coaches and directors over the years. It is rare to find a kid who changed teams going into high school or after and was happy with the change. Maybe this July tryout trend will change things but I doubt it. It is probably too late to change teams and be better off at a new place unless things are so bad a change has to be made. So the early tryouts for this age and up will not result in many teams picking up new players.
The final weekend of July (28th and 29th) is hardly pushing the envelope - it might as well be considered the beginning of August, which is pretty much status quo for years past.
