Nope. Kids will practice and the regional club will de-conflict tournament schedules with the national teams. Not that hard.
Where are these kids practicing? They certainly aren't making every practice if they have to travel from NOVA to Annapolis - a couple of times a week. Maybe on weekends but doing that on week day nights - good luck with that. If they aren't practicing with TC, who are they practicing with? Hitting the wall and athletic training only gets you so far.
