Yes, thank goodness it seems as though it won't be as hot and humid as two years ago when we were at Young Guns.

A lot of great teams. Can't wait to see how everyone does.

What is there to say? Lots of good teams and good players, but talk is cheap. Let's see who does well. It will be a good event.

Sad for those boys, they were in over their heads and unfortunately exposed in front of all those college coaches.

Is there a summary writeup of the game somewhere? I'd like to see who was highlighted from both Nassau and Suffolk.

Quick Breakdown: Suffolk dominated the game, only reason it was close in first half was that Nassau was man up 6-10 times, lost count. Final score not indicative of actual game as Nassau scored a few in garbage time.

Are you the same bully coming back again -

A main reason Suffolk dominated was that their face-off man was unstoppable!!

Here is the summary but you might have to pay to view it

Bully?? Someone asked for a recap. I was there, the box score nor the final score is not indicative of the game. It was 18-4 with a few minutes left. 18! The game wasn't close Nassau had plenty of opportunities but turned the ball over. How many man ups do you want?

I'm not a bully (I didn't write the past post) but, it was definitely MUCH more than the TWO faceoff MEN that were the reason for Suffolk's dominance. Sorry!

and the 5 offensive players from the same school. Nassau was under prepared. Even day of showcase, Suffolk was dressed and warming up over an hour before, Nassau was in locker room at 7:30pm. Looked like a different approach. Whatever, it's done. All the kids will be fine-

True-
You can easily make an argument that 2017 Chaminade freshman team plus would beat the nassau suffolk all star team straight up...
if you added just the starting Anthony's middies... you would have a blow out

Well at least three of them will not be going d3 with the syosset player committed to pen state and the two boys from locust valley committed to St. John's. Why is everyone so invested where these kids end up? Who cares? Good for any student athlete who gets to play in college at any level in their loved sport.

I missed the games and am not going to pay for Lax lesson. Who were the impact players from Suffolk. Who were the impact players from Nassau. if you cannot name the boys can you list the school they attend.

Were most of these boys on their teams varsity programs or were they on JV last year. Can they attribute their success to their town programs, to a travel program or natural athletic talent.
Can this give a good indication who the better schools would be in the years to come?

Yes, they will live with their parents and play in the MLL. And that MLL team will be owned by a guy who went to Tufts or Williams College and played D3 lacrosse but got a great education, started his own company and made a great success of it. But being a lax bro is awesome too.

You are correct but the original post was about the rising sophmore game. A HS Sophmore would be a 2016 so why didnt you give the same response the first time it was mentioned?

Why do you say it was the Top 2017 Tournament of the summer? Quality of teams? College coaches in attendance? Isn't the latter what 2017 tourneys are all about?

Top quality and all the coaches were there.

Good showing from the Turtles, and surprisingly the Outlaws. How did they get so good?

The Outlaws were in one of the easiest brackets.

The Express Terps went 1-4, only managing to beat the worst team in the tournament. I have never seen such a bad Express team.

NXT and the Breakers are "easy" - I think not. Also 91 was in the losers bracket. Check the web app. Just sayin.
Turtle Nation rocked it.

First off, Crabfeast is still a wonderful if not one of the elite best tournaments and the undisputed best 2017 team of them all won it. That said, two things I heard and was thinking myself and led me to wonder if Crabfeast is already declining and will further decline. First let's face it, there were 3-4 great teams there and another 10 good teams there and then 25 glorified rec teams there. Why no WCS, no Denver Elite, no FCA National and no 3d National or better regional teams? Another point is Ryan McLernan really needs to temper the home cooking a bit before people stop coming. His club is in a bracket with Bulldog, Booth and True. Cupcake city. At least 4 other brackets had two strong teams in them. It is arbitrary what good teams to put together in the brackets, so give him a hall pass there but then on the second day the brackets were pretty horrible. Edge, Dukes, Patriot and Turtles on one side and Crabs get to feast on Thunder and Sweetlax to the final. That is a joke.

Yes, a lot of coaches were there. But much fewer than in prior years. Yes, great teams there and the best team nationally won. But some great teams - not good teams great teams - not coming anymore. Yes, good teams after the great teams. But not as many of those as in prior years. And there were at least 20 crappy teams there that frankly should have been at some Trilogy or whatever event. Our team was one of the good - not great - teams in the consolation round. It was a real bummer to play some bracket and next day games against teams that can't catch or throw with both hands or play what looks like lacrosse as rising 10th graders. Our team could have earned better looks by beating the one other team in our bracket, but since we did not we played games so horrid looking no college coach could stand to watch. The coaches were actually reading their smartphones most of the time we played against crappy teams Saturday and Sunday and I don't blame them.

Thoughts anyone?

I think there are just to many tournaments. They are all watered down. They really need to set up a tier system. you can literally play for the championship of the world every weekend. Any way we had a lot of fun.

91 and Outlaws have not played each other, and we do not know how they would match up.

Some common opponents:

Outlaws beat NXT by 3, 91 lost to NXT by 3.

Outlaws beat BBL by 3, who beat laxachussetts by 6. 91 lost to laxachussets.

They are both competitive teams nationally. Outlaws have had a better summer.

Outlaws also in close game with Patriot who played Turtles 7-5.

Good weekend for Outlaws.

You are an idiot. The seeding for the playoffs was due to goal differential and other criteria, not an arbitrary "these teams on one side, the other teams on the other side".

Not idiotic. You missed the point. Ryan puts Dukes, Patriot, Edge all in brackets with one team that could play. NXT, Outlaws and Breakers are three good / not great teams in same bracket. In a tournament with 20+ rec level teams, how do three decent teams wind up in the same four team bracket out of ten brackets. Then Mesa Fresh, Crabs and Turtles go in with three rec teams. Of course the seedings will have those three top seeds. Friggin Madlax or Breakers could have gone 3-0 with 40+ goals for and 7 against if swapped in brackets with Crabs and gotten a bye. You think Madlax or Breakers were one of the great teams? Turtles didn't need the help. Crabs and Mesa Fresh are teams that would not have sniffed the semis or final if the brackets were equitable. Get a little real Crabs Dad.
