Sounds like boarders are the new holdbacks. Or are they just out of state holdbacks?

There seems to be a lot of finger pointing at every school that is not MCD, BL and CHC. Get used to it, at least for a while. The playing field is not level and won't be as long as transferring in from elsewhere and being allowed to play immediately is allowed. If you have to sit a year if you transfer within the MIAA, then it is only fair that you have to sit if you transfer from elsewhere. The rest of the MIAA needs to stand up to MCD, BL and CHC, before this practice becomes the norm and those 3 teams are 3 of the final 4 every year. The fourth will be the school that happens to have a core of good players, kids of alums and can possibly pick up some disgruntled kids from the other 3 schools who hopefully see the writing on the wall before 9th grade. It is sad to see what is happening to a once great conference.

Yes, this is exactly why Gilman can’t compete. It’s not fair!!!!!!

Gilman's issues go back well past out of region/state players, boarding and even hold backs. Is this year 10 of not making the playoffs? If the above is not addressed, LB, SPS and STM will be playing for fourth in perpetuity.

Sometimes all you need is 1 or 2 out of state to complement what you have. That's all it took for McD this year with Santa Claus coming to town. BL does it on a very large scale. Either way, MIAA has to apply same rules and that is to sit out a year. Also, make BL play in the A conference in EVERY sport and see what that does. After all the "International Boarding School" can recruit for other sports...

Gilman can’t compete because their coach [Censored]! Henry Smyth, Mr. “ I didn’t know anything about students being molested “, should be fired for hiring such incompetence!!
It’s a dead program and is heading to the B conference.

Jesus! Tantrum much? Grow up and get over it already. Pond got bigger and your kid is less impressive than he was in HoCo in 7th grade. Stomp your feet about it. I hear it helps. 🤡

Public school playoffs are embarrassing teams winning 23-0.

It’s bad lacrosse

Ok. I think we can be done with the Gilman talk for a long time. There are 10 other teams and many other topics like today's game. We have a bought team with many holdbacks and a boarder or two vs. the comeback kids who were counted out by many. No dog in the fight here. Just hoping for a well played & well officiated game.

Gilman will never be in the B conference (lax) and is still tied for 2nd most MIAA A Championships.

LOL - no dog in the fight? right... you don't think CH has many holdbacks? And they've rigged the system for years (until this season). I genuinely have "no dog in the fight" but its 2 evenly developed (and recruited) teams. One will prevail tonight.

Cottle and Ford will be gone as well - enter Rage!!!!!!

Who is R?
3 coaches gone sounds like the new coach will be bringing in his guys. Change isnt always bad. Good luck to Phipps.
New Coach is the Assistant Hockel. It was announced last night. Phipps is stepping away pursing a new career path, and most importantly to spend more time with his family. As for Mollot coming on staff… joke and again daddy ball. The guy is a clown.

There have been many dad coaches in the MIAA,
There still are.

And there have been in the ACC too..

How bad is the B division that a team like Curley is the champ? And won by that much?

Men against boys. Most dominating championship game I’ve ever seen in A conference action.

The bought team with the 5th year from prep won. Just does not seem real when u won with holdbacks and transfers. Absolutely no culture at that woke institution they call McD. Hall had all the real feel in the bleachers. Some things never change no matter who wins. Coach H u sold out years ago against your Alama mater……

Boy you sound bitter. CH was throttled. Championship game was BL vs McD in semis. McD setting up to be the next dynasty.

No saints at CH either. They tried to get 5th years past the league too and it didn’t work.

At least 9 got his goal in [Censored] time late in the 4th. All that mattered.

That is the biggest championship beatdown (MSA or MIAA) that I can recall. Wow.

Agree. Hall was out played at every level. Their offense looked small and lethargic. Defense was out of sorts. Once Hall put #14 on M Millon, they seem to stop him from scoring but he was particularly effective at finding an open teammate (I thought #14 did a good job manning M Million). I don’t have an affiliation to either school, but came to see a great game. And sadly it was not.

I think loyola vs bl would’ve been a much more competitive game.

All the freshman on varsity contributed this year and they weren’t just there because of a favor. They deserved it.

I agree, Thanks Mark ! That had to be embarrassing when they disrespected the number one player in the nation with a shortie. What was that about ?

Just an observation. I was at the MIAA championship. CHC's bench was huge compared to that of MCD. More players doesn't mean better results. I am a CHC alum and I will tell you CHC was out played in every part of the game. Coach K needs to really dig deep and think about [Censored] how to fuel the fire in the program. Seems like there is a real disconnect between top tier players and the up and comers. Could it be that the pipeline between CHC and FCA is running dry? I am not sure. What I am sure about is that Mcd came ready to play. Take #9 out and Mcd still wins.

Current US Club Lacrosse rankings:
2024 FCA Blue #19
2025 FCA #9
2026 FCA Blue #70
2026 FCA White #175
2027 FCA #5
2028 FCA Blue #9 (Coach K's team)
2028 FCA White #110
2029 FCA #15

In 2023 GHCLC 2028 FCA Blue placed 2nd and no other teams were even in the play-offs. Some teams might not have coaches affiliated with CHC. Coaches have turned away CHC boys in lieu of deals made with parents of boys from other clubs and going to other schools. If coaches are not loyal to the CHC pipeline, why would boys be when choosing a future high school? It's important for the boys to be playing together in school and in club so they foster trust and confidence in each other on the field.

Don’t confuse being bitter with the facts. McD had the holdbacks and boarder this year. You can’t come on here and believe the playing field in the A conference is anywhere close to level. I look at the win & the season McD had would have been shocked if they did not win. It rings hollow to most people in the know except McD players, coach’s & parents. McD along with BL should consider a national schedule. The boarders & high population of holdbacks will continue in this arms race. MIAA leadership does not want to do anything about it so this is what u get.
