For me this 3 teams on Long Island have a chance for World Lacrosse Championships:
Venom Lumberjax Chucks
If your child has a dream of making it, those are the teams to tryout for. Unless those teams are contacting you, you do not have a chance. Be smart with your tryout decisions. Even if you make it, it does not change your life at all, but it will give you memories. nobody cares if you made it or even won it. Silly thread. It’s venom then everyone else. Legacy and chucks keep telling prospects you can hang with venom - where are the results? It’s embarrassing already. Weird b/c Venom lost to 2Way today. I guess it's not "venom then everyone else." The original post was about LI teams and the World Series, not the tri-state. 2-Way best 2028 players all playeind in this summers World Series, none are eligible for next summers. Sure….

It’s 2Way, then everyone else[/quote] The two 2027’s (yes, still 2027’s) who are “planning on reclassing” are heads and shoulders above the 2028 field of players. From what I’m told, they were good this spring at the 2027 level. They are beasts. But come on man, until you’re actually in the 2028 grade, you’re cheating. holdbacks are allowed— but not “I’m thinking about holding back next school year.”

Long Island Dad’s end of year Ranking top 20
I have boys at all different ages and am at most tournaments and have seen most teams play multiple times
1- 91 Venom - Loaded all over
2- Express Chucks - strong team that plays well together 3- Rush Adrenaline - not as deep as 91 or Express but they have a handful of very talented kids 4- Legacy Lumberjax - strong team that seems to be struggling this summer
5- S2S - key injury is hurting them but they still have some very skilled kids 6- Rebels Hydra - there was a lot of talk about the elite 18 were going to dominant this year and it just has not happened 7- BTB - a few extremely talented kids on this team, if they can get some more they will move up
8- Igloo Northmen - they seem to be dropping more and more 9- 91 Surge - they’ve performed well, the question coming into try outs will kids accept invitations to surge or other teams 10- Turtles - seems their A days are done and top kids are leaving
11- Igloo Frost - igloo has one of the weaker A teams but one of the stronger b teams, go figure 12- GSB - can they add some more talent and will top kids play for them again? 13- Dune Dawgs - a few good kids, same issue being a b team that surge has 14- Recon - they’ve performed better and have a few good kids
15- E3 - looked good last year, not as strong this year 16- Rush Tidal - same b team issues 17- 24 18- Hitmen 19- Express Oreilly 20- True Blue

Who’s to say they don’t get to Sept and say “nah, I think I’ll remain in 8th grade.” Bush league. But they are good. Very good. Why are they even reclassing, from the looks of the 2Way social media site my kid shows me, they’re already studs at the 2027 level

Tourneys should be like AAU requiring report cards to verify grade.

You all have been through this a thousand times. I doubt people are doing it just for youth lacrosse when so many of the college players are holdbacks.

Madlax is doing the same thing. That team had a number of older kids. What exactly do you mean they are doing the same thing? Madlax does have a couple of kids that started Kindergarten late— they’re summer 2009 birthdays, so technically, they are “holdbacks.” And one distinct holdback, he reclassed 2 years ago from 2027. But NONE of these summer 2009 birthdays were held back after the age of 5, for a leg up in lacrosse. I hear ya, technically these 3-4 kids are not “on age.” But the reclassing in 6-8th grade to get a leg up on competition, regardless of when their DOB is in a given year, is a different deal. The 2Way kids are studs at the 2027 level, and they have not been held back yet. In the fall, maybe. But they simply have not spent a day in the 2028 classroom yet. And I’ll add— 8 and 1 are heads and shoulders superior to any kids we have seen playing at the 2028 level. Frankly, it’s not really even close.

Just kids from texas playing with them when those kids aren’t playing for their actual team. Coincidentally the 2 tourneys Madlax was able to win. It’s “legal” but let’s all be honest with each other

Obviously the A team to be on is Venom, then Express, then legacy. I'm not sold on rush or rebels or btb. it'll be funny to see parents bring their kids to multiple tryouts and see which offer is best for them. i think playing time iand coaching s the most important factors.
