Seriously? It's 8th grade lacrosse.

Yes, seriously. News flash - parents of elite 8th grade lacrosse teams take the success of their son and his team EXTREMELY seriously and personally. it is actually kind of funny that you would come on this forum and pretend to be surprised by that.

It is ridiculous to be surprised by it, but it's OK to be amused by the elite-ness of the parents whose sons hit puberty first, and though 5'6" now, will be 5'6" forever, as the "non elite" kids with similar skills per pound, keep moving up in the world.

BTW, the first case is me. I played HS JV in 8th grade at 5'7". Bussed me up from the middle school for practices and games!!!!! There was so much talk and potential. This happened for other athletes in other sports as well.

By 11th grade I was 5'8" and cut from varsity. 1st line kid was 6'1" and 2nd line kid in my spot was 5'11" and the HS football QB. My work ethic (without coaches or parents over my shoulder) was garbage, I was burned out, and the kids I had been beating for years, got bigger than me and "almost as skilled" so that was the end of that.

So guess what, for about 1/3 of the 8th grade "elite kids", that freight train is coming for you as well.

You should have hit the wall.
Well we knew that was coming.

I would say it’s up there - waiting for the schedule to come out which will hopefully be over the next few days. Should be all the Big Team there. Naptown doesn’t look too impressive this year. Indicative of the Hawks demise.

Idk, Naptown is still pretty loaded. I think there are some teams in there too who have turned over most of their roster from last summer and consolidated talent.

holdbacks are a huge problem for this sport. USA lax needs to fix the issue.

Great insight!!! Wonder if they’re looking into this or are even aware???? SMH. Until the big HS programs and D1 colleges step in nothing is going to change.

I also don’t think graduates students should be allowed to play college, only undergrads.

Crabs have the best top ELITE players, Best Coaches that actually know the game, best Fields to practice on, well organized and run by the Best Director of Clubs in USA , The mammy jammy himself King of the Crabs and yes, a smidgen on the heavy side.

What is the logic behind your statement?

NCAA = National COLLEGIATE Athletics Association

Undergraduate students are college students.

Graduate students are college students.

If a player still has eligibility, what is the difference?

I thought there was a NCAA rule of only playing 4 years , It can be under or grad as long as it does not exceed 4 years. Age has no part of it, even tho it might be hard to compete as a 55 year old Freshman

No redshirt or injury redshirts, eh? Sorry, but older kids have been playing college and HS lax for years! Way before holdbacks we had guys doing PG years at Lawrenceville, etc

As of 4/27 WCS is 10th in the country and Tommyknockers is 27th. If you want to see running from the competition check out Hawks first 2 games at Naptown. 😅😂🤣

Why leave McDonogh? For argument's sake, RPCS, Bryn Mawr, and McD can't ALL have the "best fields to practice on."

Have to agree. Gathering out of towners and holdbacks onto your roster will win HoCo but will not beat the elite national teams.

Easy Crab daddy. You needed OT to beat DCE the first game and the 2nd game was 6-6 in the 3rd till you pulled away. Oh and DCE doesn't have a Fogo. The elite teams at NAL will have good fogos so you need to slow your roll!

Why be easy when we won. Crabs are the top team in DMV and will beat the LI teams by 4/5 . They have that much talent and ,,,not hearing it here, but they have two for sure, possibly three elite players coming their way this summer. Going to be fun ,

Hold your horses you mean the Looneys players who are making the rounds to multiple clubs trying to decide where they want to plant themselves? LOL you don’t have two for sure, maybe three anything, except maybe extra commas.
