do the maryland privates have an age limit? in MA, publics and catholics cant turn 19 prior to sept of senior year but the private/preps have no age limit. by spring season there are 20 year olds playing- sort of strange. up this way have seen a significant uptick in number of holdbacks and the quality of the holdback. used to be borderline kids, now some of the best hold back. The MD Privates do have an age rule and it is similar. It does mostly get enforced. There is at least one school that had a number of D1 recruits last year, as Juniors. But those same kids are ineligible this year as seniors because they are now too old for the league. Imagine giving up your senior year of high school lax with your buddies just to play a couple of years at Mercer, etc.

Crabs go .500 in HOCO Spring. Which four teams beat them? Hawks - still more talented than any team at this year True - definitely talented and grabbing the hawks left overs in the area DC Express - all-star team made up of BLC, VLC and Next Level Looney's - no FOGO last year and added some talent from FCA and Breakers Crabs are overrated and weak in transition (midfield) defense and in goal. All they have is a FO kid and an attackman. They are bottom feeders this year; you heard it first!!

Age base still allows for a wide discrepancy of ages. Come on, You cant be that ......If it is one year by age, It is only ONE year difference from top to bottom. ... As it is now one year with grade, you can technically be any age difference even tho the vast majority everyone is talking about are generally older from one day to over 18 months ,,, Worst is that a player exact same birthday plays down and another one plays on age. How is that good for youth...Get your advantage in HS and college Saying all that, it isnt changing due to the Private School influence on lacrosse,, Where majority of holdbacks roam. Sad state

Years ago, it was turned a blind eye to the double holdback as there were so few. Now with single holdback explosion, more are going the double holdback. Still isnt that many doubles,

So a team that is supposedly all holdbacks and ran through the fall like a hot knife through butter including a win over LI Express CoachC is going to be 500 in the HOCO? I know this board is for stirring the pot but, come on you surely don't believe that nonsense.

Calvert Hall has at least one D1 commit who can not play this year because he aged out.

And if all good VLC and NextLevel players went to DCE, are those teams dropping down to AAA?

Developing players vs keeping the kids of the coaches drinking and hippy lettuce buddy's are not the same thing. Hence the decline over the years.
