Rigged the tournament to get to the championship and got annihilated.

Hawks lost to freedom. NL had some losses. FCA struggled at sweet sixteen.

Tough fall for hoco’s best.

Giant yawn. Madlax is a very good squad. They have one dad/troll who wishes they were dominant. They are not. Far from it. Now get ready for dad/troll excuses.

That has to be the worst beat down Madlax has taken since they were blown out in the first half of the HOCO championship versus the Hawks in May

I wonder how bad Cabel was yelling at them? I think I heard them from Maryland.

Those parents deserve him.

The difference is NL, Hawks and FCA parents don’t come here beating their chests.

Post of the day so far. More I think about it, Cabel is just like an angry driving instructor. Except this time his students drove straight into the back of another car covered in Express stickers

Hey Madlax nation,

It’s me Cable, I wanted to let you know that I am making a top to bottom change across the entire Madlax organization. The plan is as follows, I am going to ask each and everyone of you to reclass your son. I know what you’re already thinking, most of you already have done this already and several have done it twice. But as you all know the old saying “third times a charm” I’m addition I will be increasing your fee’s as well in order to offset some recently unexpected cost. Let’s go Madlax.

CM

Four starters out for football, down to one pole in 2nd half. Had Att and Mids with a pole in their hands for first time ever. It was over at the half at 6-3. Frankly, prob should have lost to LIE as well, it was an overall dismal performance by those who showed up. Full strength the team is just fine.

Certainly eating some well deserved crow in the meantime!

Fall ball though, right?

Here’s the final fall Bored MD rankings. I think these are more accurate than the US club rankings, but it’s hard to assess fall ball because so many kids are missing and teams aren’t practicing as much. So I place more weight on the summer results than fall, which is why a couple teams that had some very nice results at the end of the fall aren’t higher. There’s a lot more parity between the northern hotbed teams and the Maryland teams now. We still haven’t seen a team from the West breakthrough other than the Mad Dog West and WCS all star teams.

1. Annapolis Hawks (1)
T-2. Madlax (2). I know about the ten goal loss to Express North. But there are a lot of other wins over the summer and fall to balance that out. Impossible to compare with Venom given the lack of a head to head, the fact Venom hasn’t played much, and the lack of many compelling games overall this fall among all teams.
T-2. Team 91 Venom (4). Needs to play more but excellent results.
4. 3D New England (3). Played the toughest fall schedule and racked up a ton of wins against top 15 teams.
5. Express North (7). What a run at NAL! Huge wins against Madlax and BBL. If can play at that level in the summer, they will challenge for the very top spots.
6. BBL (5). Play a very strong schedule. Probably top overall strength of a schedule for summer and fall. Only criticism is they struggle a little against the top 5, but very solid team.
7. 2way (6). Huge unknown given the lack of games against MD teams. This is a guess. Hopefully we will see them in the summer.
8. FCA (8). Results might not match the talent level yet. But very good team.
9. WCS (unranked). They’ve only played one tournament and the results are win over True, tie with Team 91 Ga, and two goal loss to Madlax among top competition. Hard to know where that puts them. But obviously likely to have tons of athletes when they come east this summer.
10. Next Level (10).
11. Freedom (11). Very similar to Next Level in terms of results. Next Level has had the better of the head to heads.
12. Mad Dog West (12)
13. Long Island Express (9). Really hard to pin this team down. Keep expecting them to post better results outside Long Island.
14. Crabs (13). Need to play more and better competition, but there are signs they might move up the rankings in the spring and summer.
15. Legacy (15)
16. Laxachusetts (unranked)
17. True Annapolis (unranked)
18. Thunder (upstate NY) (unranked)
19. Team 91 GA (unranked)
20. Alpha Elite Colorado (unranked). Colorado looks to still not have consolidated. Alpha seems to have the best results.

National teams - Nationals, True National, Mad Dog National also very good.

MD/DMV Specific Top 10

1. Hawks
2. Madlax
3. FCA Blue
4. Next Level
5. Crabs
6. True Annapolis
7. Bethesda

How has it escaped this board’s notice that the 2028 US club lacrosse rankings are out (and they are terrible)?

Likely because they are so terrible that it isn’t worth a mention whatsoever.

Over time this summer they *may* normalize but as of now it’s poppycock.

Bored MD Dad I hope you have your social media and url secured. Much more valuable analysis than any other rankings (for 2028s).

Impressive. This guys knows what’s up. My only concern is VLC and Team MD both hung with Crabs today. They may have to move to bottom of elite. No way they are a better team.

Just an FYI:

WCS played 91 Georgia twice— beat them badly 9-3 and tied them at 7am the next morning 4-4.

Also— Thunder is from Atlanta, not upstate NY and they put a thumping on BLC and Next Level today before losing by 2 to Freedom. They also had a couple decent wins at NLF in MA in July. The better of the GA teams by a wide margin.

How is WCS any different than Nationals? Or any other conglomerate group of kids from different clubs?

91 GA would probably finish 3rd or 4th in AAA in HoCo.

11. Freedom (11). Very similar to Next Level in terms of results. Next Level has had the better of the head to heads.
12. Mad Dog West (12)
13. Long Island Express (9). Really hard to pin this team down. Keep expecting them to post better results outside Long Island.
14. Crabs (13). Need to play more and better competition, but there are signs they might move up the rankings in the spring and summer.
15. Legacy (15)
16. Laxachusetts (unranked)
17. True Annapolis (unranked)
18. Thunder (upstate NY) (unranked)
19. Team 91 GA (unranked)
20. Alpha Elite Colorado (unranked). Colorado looks to still not have consolidated. Alpha seems to have the best results.

National teams - Nationals, True National, Mad Dog National also very good.

MD/DMV Specific Top 10

1. Hawks
2. Madlax
3. FCA Blue
4. Next Level
5. Crabs
6. True Annapolis
7. Bethesda
8. Kelly Post
9. Blue Claws
10. FCA White

There are two Thunder teams. The one that played in Maryland yesterday is based out of Akwesasne, NY. But they rely heavily on guest players. Most of their talent this weekend was wearing FCA helmets.

Why does this forum dump all over MadLax, yet it gives so much respect to Bored Lax Dad's rankings that place MadLax so high?

Because even though we detest Madlax, and the colors blue and Orange, the club director, their obnoxious self promotion… we know they are a very very good team and too 1-2 in the country

Accurate take. The kids on the 28 team can flat out play, they work hard and are well coached. most of the parents are knowledgeable and pleasant in real life. However, The director’s reputation along with a culture that bends or breaks the rules together with a few very toxic parents make them unlikable. Throw in a few ML message board tough guys, obnoxious entitlement, lack of awareness that it 6th grade children and you get some serious detest from just about every other club

Would love to hear bored MD dads thoughts?

If you include WCS, then All the National “all star” teams from True National to Madlax National and Nationals should be eligible. There are no differences.

Because most people not associated with Madlax can come to conclusions objectively. Madlax is unlikeable and the parents who are on here crowing about how good their children are at lacrosse are not wrong — their children are very good at lacrosse. They aren't willing to offer the same grace and maturity to other teams, but that doesn't mean we can't.

Stop fishing MadLax mom. You know why, we think you are the problem, your coach is the problem and the players, while old enough to vote, are still good on the field. That will change when everyone else goes through puberty too though.

Yeah, I don’t know that there is a clear best way to handle the regional teams. I punt on the national teams because the rosters seem to vary so significantly tournament to tournament. So unless you know who is showing up that week, it’s hard to rank them.

Mad Dog West and 3D New England I include because it seems to be basically the same kids tournament to tournament from what I’ve seen, they play quite a few tournaments so we have a decent sample, and they have been fairly stable in their results.

WCS is in between. I don’t have a good feel for whether the roster varies as much as the national teams seem to. But honestly I probably shouldn’t include yet because the sample is so small. One tournament isn’t enough to have any kind of considered opinion.

There is another issue with the “guest player” situation like apparently happened Thunder Upstate. I’m not sure how to handle that best either.

If people have a good solution as to how to do this better, let me know and I’ll try to use in the spring unless US Club or someone else finds a way to give us decent rankings before then.
