I heard bandits has completely overrun 91. It’s basically bandirs management and coaches with a 91 label. Worst mistake the program could have made was merging with them. At the 24 level I’m told practices are being held in SB on a field without permits. According to the million emails 91 sends out about revamping the program it doesn’t seem like they’re going in the right direction.

Spoke to a 91 parent who said that the bandits crew has steam rolled 91 and taken over. They’re practicing in stony brook in a park they don’t have permits for and kids are doing a lot of standing at practices. According to the 500 91 email blasts I get a week, I thought BS was growing the girls program, not slapping their name onto the bandits management. Given the two clubs the merger was always going to be very difficult. But in all honesty 91 may very well have folded its girls side if not for a merger of some sort. They were in a bad way.

They have never been a girls club… the bandits merger was a last minute saving grace to keep the girls side alive. I’m sure they gave them whatever they wanted to keep the girls side alive

It blows my mind that the 91 girls program is still around. They have always been awful. I think some families give them a try when their girls are young because they ride on the reputation of the boys side. They realize after a year or two they made a big mistake and bolt. Then the teams fold and the rest of the girls get screwed and scatter anywhere that will take them. Stay away!

What blows my mind is that so many angry dads on here bashing clubs and keeping everyone updated on practices that their children aren’t even attending… also if they are supposedly so horrible why do you feel the need to keep talking about them. Get over whatever issues you have and move on it’s time.

If they are so bad why do you keep posting constantly about them. Its very obvious we have a disgruntled parent here. It’s sad when as an adult you feel the need to go on a public forum and bash a club/team of teenage girls. If it’s not for your daughter that’s fine but don’t see why we need the updates on team practices

There are entire pages for just bashing yellow jackets and top guns. The idea of many people talking about a club isn’t so far fetched buddy. 91 is just in the forefront of it because they made a bad decision with bandits, which is also notoriously posted about on here as a mediocre program. Go back to the old 24 thread from last year and you’ll see plenty of nonsense about every club.

Fact that 90% of parents would agree with on here is that 91 has been going downhill for years. Sure that the old coach did their best but she was one person. Whether she stayed or not that club was going under. The two clubs coming together kept both from folding. There is no argument there. There is also no argument that the club is anywhere in comparison to a legacy or YJ team.

They do absolutely nothing for their Girls Teams - look at their commit list, it's all right their on their website. If your daughter wants to play in college, run far away from 91. They'll take your money, promise you they've changed, then go right back to promoting their boys teams while the Girls get ignored.

This way you can be in control which club gets promoted, and which club gets bashed. Better yet, maybe you should just skip ‘treads’ you don’t like.

Ok, I think it’s just parents venting about clubs they are disappointed and/or happy with. Seems every club ends up as the topic of discussion at some point. It’s good for parents to have a place to go to hopefully get some good information / feedback from other parents. Just need to put up with 80% nonsense/angry/dense post by disgruntled parents

Positive - being tough on them, expecting the best out of them, not babying them and showing them that its important to work hard outside of practice and tournaments. That sometimes you have a bad game, make mistakes and its how you react to that which will determine where you end up. There is always something to learn. - YJ 2024 team People are on here are always bad mouthing coaches/programs but at the end of the day its on your kid. Complain about the money, but then don't pay it. These years go fast, enjoy it. Making sure your kid is actually on the right team from the start is the beginning. If you are one of those parents complaining summer after summer and doing nothing about it.. Then its on you, not the club or the coach. If your kid is seeing the limited minutes summer after summer, then maybe its time to realize they aren't on the right team. If you really care about your kids development and its not all about status then ask to move to a team within the club where your kid will get more playing time. So much focus on the coaches, how about the parents? Everyone thinks there kid is amazing or is being treated unfairly. Moving clubs all the time isn't always the answer. I can't stand to hear the same parents complain and then seeing them hoping their kid doesn't get cut the next year. Let's be honest in 6 years from now (which is not that far off) no one is going to care, not even you! Why play have young kids playing late at night? If you truly believe that then coaches should dial it back especially during seasons when kids are playing other sports. Give those of us who agree with that statement options not fomo.

I think all parents want is transparency. If a kid isn't playing why? How are you helping them to get better and get on the field(besides offering private training at an extra cost). If a kid isn't going to play cut them, don't expect them to walk away. If you ask for money, where is it going? If a kid tries out for another team another team, that should be ok. I think it's a bit bold of you to suggest that if there are complaints it's on the parents. I've yet to see a coach who is perfect. I think parents need to look at things through the eyes of a coach, that said I think coaches should make an effort to look at things through the eyes of a parent. Like it or not as a coach you are being paid to provide a service. Think of any service that you pay for in life. Don't you expect some form of communication, some reasoning of why things are being done? I think if there was a little more give and take parents, coaches and players would benefit. I think a lot of it stems from parents inability or unwillingness to give an honest assessment of their kid's ability. I think it's the coaches job to give an assessment of a players ability and communicate that assessment. Many parents are not qualified to accurately assess there kids ability so they rely on a coach. Can you assess your childs ability in calculus or do you rely on the teacher? While some are qualified, most are not.

There are constant complaints on this board about all different clubs and all different ages. So all clubs and their coaches are perfect? Club coaches complain about other clubs and their coaches constantly. Tons of parents complain about DK are they wrong?

I thought that was a great idea- so simple, and yet it doesn’t seem that LI clubs do this. There is no good way to get feedback from coaches- only through informal avenues. Do you know of any LI clubs that routinely provide feedback on each kid?

Bc bad feedback pisses parents off and then the club loses out bc these parents start looking elsewhere

Not just collecting money and rolling a ball out and playing. Must be nice.

I’m sure I’ll get heat for the mention of our out team since we seem to be getting a lot of the heat as a club right now right now, but Crossfire staff did it for our kids last year. All three coaches put their feedback into a template they made and sent it to each kid separately.

One of those coaches also left the team and the 2022 team mid season with no explanation so maybe her efforts were short last
