Big roster and small bench = lots of girls on the team but only a few people actually play.
Illiterate post? Actually quite easy to understand...

The angry ones are the parents that think the all conference team is spot on, and at the bottom of the standings. The top teams are quite happy

I agree, top teams are happy. Excluding 2020, GFS has won three games in three years. What are they rebuilding?

Also agree. No matter the size of the bench, playing for a winning team with winning traditions is exciting. Practicing with and against the top talent is immeasurable. So I agree with the other comments, the top teams are very happy, and learning how to win.

Disagree with this one buddy. Hard to have a solid practice and learn anything when they are hardly catching and throwing. How do you simulate the competition if catching and throwing is an issue. Playing and practicing with the top competition is always a good thing…even if they don’t get in a game, they learn.

Two talented teams played today. Good to see a first time winner. Way to go BC…they were focused. Syracuse played a good game.

Once the last vestiges of CR are gone after next season, Mcd will be a mid tier team in the iaam. That’s when TR will make her exit.

Why are it you circling back to talking about TC? Enough already. It’s already been discussed a million times

5th Year Seniors in coming back to play in college? How will that trickle down and effect current recruiting for HS class of 21', 22', 23', etc...?

Smaller recruiting classes for one,

Agreed. Hearing rumors that some top ACC , Big 10, etc. schools recruiting classes for the 23 grad year will be much smaller since many of these schools are investing in grad transfers.

Recruiting classes will be about the same, there just won't be as much money available.

This is not true. Classes will be smaller. It was trending that way already even before Covid.

it will be the same as the 22's recruiting class. It depends on the school and their needs

Every year a school recruits based on needs.

A big question is if these schools will have the fifth years back as grads. And will all want to officially enroll again? A fifth year isn't free but another year to avoid realities is priceless!

Why is college football so exciting? Because it’s so honest and pure( to an extent) this last year of lacrosse was kind of boring with all of the awesome seniors and grads. Blowouts. It clarified what made lacrosse so exciting in the first place, just innocent kids going for it!
I will say that a bright light this year was the awesome freshmen playing well. I hope to see as much spotlight put on them as the older girls.

It doesn’t matter what’s “trending” right now. The 22 class was recruited through film. The 23 class will have coaches on the sidelines. There is no definitive answer. I think the safe answer is no one really knows and we will have to wait and see. Covid messed with a lot things, including scenarios.

When is it bad back to normal? Assuming no more pandemic stoppages? Can this past years freshman class play 5 years? Which current enrolled class in college has 5 years of eligibility, not redshirt?

I believe the current freshmen are not eligible for a 5th year unless they truly redshirt.

That's correct for D1. D3 did not count this season either.

The "top" talent is going to be spread between the 2. Some of the "top" talent didn't want to deal with the UA politics so they made a decision to go to AS. And some of the "top" talent isn't trying out for either.

Let's switch the conversation - can any public high school girls programs beat all the private school teams this year?
Some schools are loaded with talent and I have been curious what others may think

SPSG, McDonogh, NDP and GCS all have almost 20 D1 commits each. I don't think any public can come anywhere near that these days.

Maybe some of the Howard County or AA County teams?
Baltimore County still too diluted by private schools.

Beat them? No. Be competitive with them, sure.

GCS has really become aggressive recruiting and has watered down Glenelg and Marriotts Ridge. There's no school in AA county that can compete with the top IAAM schools. Severna Park scrimmaged SPSG a couple times in the last few years and it wasn't even close.

GCS, SPSG, NDP and MCD are in a league of their own because of their depth (college recruited athletes sitting on the sidelines)

Glenelg HS is the only team that would be competitive with IAAM teams.

Century lost to Maryvale not long ago when Maryvale was at the bottom of the IAAM. People don’t realize the talent difference and depth difference. Gerstell has 3 Senior UA all Americans on their team and only won 4 games in the IAAM. It takes more than 3-4 good girls.

With many 2021 college seniors just now deciding to stay and take advantage of their 5th year, they’ve take the last remaining roster spot or two that was available to the 22 recruits. Many teams will keep their own 5th year or take a 5th year in the transfer portal over an unknown 22 high school recruit. I think the 22 recruiting class is essentially complete in D1 and mostly complete in D2. I think uncommitted 22’s this summer tourney season will be vying for available D3 roster spots. D1 and D2 are moving on to the 23 recruiting class and the 23 class will also be much smaller than recruiting classes prior to the 2021 class. Too many proven grad players to pull from!

There are other IAAM schools with college recruited athletes sitting on the sidelines (D1 too) while uncommitted players are on the field. Almost always due to politics.

Anyone's daughter do the US Lax NDTP at schoolgirls tourney or Tuesday night at US LAX HQ. Wondering how they will select 150 girls (2 age groups) over 10 different tryout sites? or will they just select the top 10 girls at each location?
