Andy is coaching Looney's because his son plays for this club. If it were garbage, as suggested by another poster, I do not think he would have his son playing for them. That is the point, not the money. HS lax coaches make most of their extra income from summer lax camps, not coaching a club team in the spring.

Isn't Hilgartner is a coach for the Crabs ? What does he do for Looneys ?

Coaches his sons team, Looney's 2025 Orange. Not certain if he is still coaching for Crabs. His older son plays for FCA 2019, he doesn't coach at FCA.

Looney's is garbage, especially their low rent parents.

Middle school kids play on teams that their friends play for...as they migrate to HS and recruiting they tend to head for the competitive programs. As Looney's has show, they can field some very competitive teams. This will be a forever changing dynamic. There was a time when the Crabs were the best program, Greene Turtle was once very competitive at all age groups. FCA came on the scene and hurt Greene Turtle, Breakers and Looneys. They will all have at least one strong age group, all depends on where the best coaching is for that age group.

Sorry, but I am not associated with Looney's in any fashion. My son plays for another elite club team but he has friends on Looney's.
My pushback to the individual who started trashing Looney's parents is simply to show how disgusting it is to start this type of dialog. This is a lacrosse forum, not something put out by Jerry Springer. When someone trashes parents they are indirectly trashing the kids who play and who also read this forum.
It has no place on this forum but being an anonymous forum, it is difficult to control.

That's right. He plays for a 2020 team in the elite division in HOCO and plays against Looney's 2020 Orange team. His team has never beaten Looney's but came close a few times. My other son plays 2021 club division thus the reason I follow 2021 on this forum. Using the word elite was just another push back to the original poster that Looney's 2020 orange is an elite team. Amazing how some want to trash kids/parents/fan of other clubs/teams and then some even start to dissect every word written. Now that's funny.

Nobody cares about the tournaments they won. If you knew anything, it doesn't matter who wins a youth tournament. It's about the quality of the players and coaches. With Looney's, both are lacking (as are the parents).

Seem pretty sensitive about all this. There's nothing wrong with winning B tournaments. Just don't pretend like any of those "wins" were over other AA teams.(Other than the 2020 team)

What do you mean? It's easy. If a Looneys team is there, it's a B tournament. Not rocket science.

Get your kids team to play Looneys 2020 Orange, see what happens. Oh, in case you need to know a lot of the tournaments won this past summer by other Looneys teams were not B tournaments. Here is the true state of Looneys in HoCo:
2020 - Highest Division - 5-1 - Champions
2021 - Highest Division - 1-5
2022 - C Division - 6-0
2023 - Highest Division - 0-6
2024 - Highest Division - 2-4
2025 - Highest Division - 4-1-1 - Runner up

My god, is that all you have to do with your time. I do know that 2022 played in b, there is no c. My son played against them in the b division. Except for 2022, every team played in the highest division. I'm not a Looney's parent, but I give this club credit for playing in the highest division and challenging themselves, that is how you improve. I would bet these same teams play in the same divisions this coming spring in the HOCO league. There are not many clubs that have as many grade brackets as Looney's and a few others. Most stop at 2023 as they don't want to be bothered with the younger kids. All teams could choose to play in the lower divisions but that doesn't challenge kids if they easily win every game by wide margins. That said, why don't you post who your kid plays for and their results in HOCO? I'm amazed how some just like to jump on clubs and kids and do their best to knock them. True unsportsmanlike to say the least. What next, try and find out how they do in school and post that.

That to me doesn't show the true state of Looney's. That shows they want to play in the highest division and challenge themselves. Nothing wrong with that.

Ok, 2022 was in the B division. But there was a AA division and an A division above it, so in essence, it was the C division. But you're right, Looneys was in the B division. Feel better?
