Although LB played the disgrace of a lax program in JC, I think we are able to see the immense amount of potential in their offense. I wouldn't be surprise if they won out and snuck into the playoffs. I think they will use this win as fuel to propel them into friday's huge matchup of Gilman.

You only see the potential in their offense when they play a disgrace of a lax program? Someone's a disgrace and it isn't the JC program.

Huge schedule advantage for Dons, Coming off glorified practice with lots of kids playing vs Gilman that doesn't particularly play many kids who went to ot with chc.

you are a disgrace!!! What would you expect! JC doesn't have the hold backs that most of the schools have and they work hard to compete.
Sorry if your silver spoon, elitist attitude will only allow you to cheer for the Baltimore teams. I'm sure if it were up to you the league would be a 5 team league, that's great! Grow up! I'm sure u probably never played a competitive sport in your life or you would know how to win with class and loose with dignity.

And LB left their “Star” attackman in the game until the middle of the 4th quarter so he could pad his stats!!
Definitely daddy’s influence over the OC. Lots of bad apples on the sidelines at Blakefield.

Bet that went over well. They should all feel really good about themselves. But it’s LB. I’d expect nothing less than.

👆🏽 This.

Cookie Monster influencing the roster behind the scenes with the coaching staff and its widely known amongst the varsity parents. The program will be better off once he’s no longer part of it.

Compare the % of holdbacks & out of staters across the last 5-10 years of the top of the MIAA vs. the bottom and the results are what you would expect. It is MCD, BL & CHC vs. the rest. The best that the rest of league can do is just hope to make top 6 a few times in a 10 year period. Playing field is very tilted. In the darkest corner-very off the record many of these wins for top schools must be hollow victories except for when they play each other in the championship game. Don't come on here and say recruit better(money giveaway) coach better, etc,.. I doubt if any of the other schools are just going to erect a dormitory or start a sizeable lacrosse endowment overnight. In the end, most of the 11 are schools first. Lets start by requiring the 11 schools to play A conference in every sport but one in each of the three timeframes(Fall, Winter & Spring). That would be a good start to keep schools from loading up on one sport. CHC, LB, MSJ & Spalding already have a jump start with this approach. Don't make excuses about size because you can't have it both ways. Its not about preserving your little spot in the A conference for one/a few sports. It is about the long term competitive health of the entire league. There are many positives that would come with it. For example, there are many football players that are lax players that want to play on a competitive level in both.

The bigger enrollment schools don't really want kids plying 2 sports. No matter what they say during recruiting. They will let you play jv through sophomore year and cut you JR year.

They need kids to "specialize" in one sport so they can say "75% of our students play sports." If kids play multiple
V sports, their overall participation rate drops significantly.

Multi sport V athletes occasionally happen, but are the exception at the big schools.

It's pretty simple. And common sense. If you want to play multiple sports, go to the smaller enrollment schools.

Gilman & McDonogh have had pretty much every sport in the A conference for decades

Yes. Add them to list. McD did drop to B in baseball this Spring-that could be their B Spring sport.

I think every school except Calvert Hall has at least 1 sport they play in the B:

MSJ & Spalding tennis
Gilman & Loyola hockey
McDonogh baseball

JC, St. Paul's, St. Mary's, Severn & BL are are all in the B for numerous sports.

Hi John Carroll Dad! All of the big schools have multiple no-cut sports so that % you mention is always padded and never a concern.

The big schools have individual cultures around Multisport athletes and yes, at least 1, but not all, pushes athletes to choose. And guess what if your son is big amd fast, they'll want him on the varsity bench even if they have to share him with the cross country team lol

In 2024 you just cannot be the guy who was standing there when the person next to you gets....whatever.

We already know this young man was "asked to leave" Spalding (either the school or the lacrosse program or both) which raises its own set of questions about his ability to use decent judgment for even the very flexible "prep school standard." So I'd think most outside observers would be inclined to think the situation at SPHS is yet another time this young man found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing to the wrong person. Probably with no bad intention, probably never gave it a single malicious thought. But there he was.

Unless you live a life of the top 0.001%, your privilege is not endless and you gotta make better day-to-day decisions. Sorry bro.

The young man left before the March 1 deadline to register and play in Public school. He was getting the playing time he was told he would get at Spalding. There are close to 50 on that roster and many were told they would be playing this year and arent getting any time. In blow out games Spalding keeps those startes in just like Loyola did at JC. Why not leave and go to public where he would start. The biggest reason which no one talks baout is playing with his older brother one last time before he graduates this year

50 on the roster has nothing to do with goalie position and not the reason why he left, Bobby. Stop being the 🔨 you are and be real.

MSJ coach needs to go he is not made for head coaching. Sloppy coaching and not holding anyone accountable. Playing many kids in wrong positions and at wrong times. He has had enough time to develop the program. They should have won today based on talent. Parents not happy.
If he would be allowed to coach the way he wants, it would be different. The problem is mom and dad S who won’t leave the coach alone. Exactly a true head coach would not allow parent interference period he lacks leadership. He needs to go.

We get it, Mom and Dad S's son is playing over your son. Your son is younger and will get there with more work and another year, patience is a virtue

I have son's that play both JV and Varsity A conference. I have noticed that the official's who work the JV games have been much better then the varsity games. It seems the more experienced officials are working JV. Has anyone else observed this? Any idea why?

JV is much slower and easier to officiate.

LB showcases who the HC and donors decided should be the starters last September. The only problem with that is that the % of talent left on the bench during the season would probably make the difference between losing in the 1st round of the MIAA playoffs and losing toward the end of playoffs.

And LB parents truly can't help themselves. Running off Rubeor after 3 years...an LB alum, no less. Then Ubriaco bent over backwards for the parents and donors and left untold talent on the bench in a somewhat humiliating 4 year run at LB. Haus will be run off by 2027 as well, and once the parents & donors have Ford in place, they will run him off too, by 2030. At which point it will be 17 years since the Dons won the MIAA.

Every year, Loyola has sufficient talent to make a run at MIAA semi-finals at least. Players from the best clubs in MD and PA bus in to the school every day. Yet the school seems complacent to achieve less.

To LB's credit, it's embarrassing that even in that who-cares-complacency and total distraction, they can dunk a nearly 20 point win on John Carroll.

If MSJ beats STM Lilly’s and staff needs to step down

Signed member of the royal blue

Many at MSJ feel the same way if they lose that Reid and staff need to go

MSJ coach needs to go he is not made for head coaching. Sloppy coaching and not holding anyone accountable. Playing many kids in wrong positions and at wrong times. He has had enough time to develop the program. They should have won today based on talent. Parents not happy.
If he would be allowed to coach the way he wants, it would be different. The problem is mom and dad S who won’t leave the coach alone. Reid needs to stop listening to the parents, he needs to play players at every position based on talent and not mom and dad. He has no chance of fixing things otherwise. The program as a whole will be better once mom and dad S are gone.

Exactly a true head coach would not allow parent interference period he lacks leadership. He needs to go.

We get it, Mom and Dad S's son is playing over your son. Your son is younger and will get there with more work and another year, patience is a virtue
Other goalie is a senior, not younger.
Senior goalie got pulled against Catonsville but is better?
