How'd Igloo play down in MD?

It was a fun day and many of the teams were equal. If you look at the scores, FCA did a number on Express. Then Express beats Sons by 1 and then Sons do a number on FCA. Thats just great all around lacrosse. Mesa and Hawks were definitely bottom 2.

Correction: Express lost to FCA 8-2 and then 91MD beat FCA, 8-3 or something like that, then Express tied 91MD 6-6. The FCA and Looney's teams looked the best, Looney's noticeably bigger than most of the other teams. Legacy only played on tough game against Looney's and got beat badly. There was not a bad team present.

Your club provides so much material it's simple to make fun of you all the time. Here's a solution, post the birthdates of all your players for each team, no names required. Or instead of having the graduation year on the shorts and jerseys, post their birth year. Of course if you're kids are older they're going to beat a team of younger kids. Hockey does calendar year, U.S. Soccer is moving to a calendar year system next year, and Crabs, while playing within the rules, promotes holding kids back to make them look better.

Yes, the Looney's players did all look big. How does a team that went 1-2 look best?

This was a great day, nice venue, balanced competition, relaxed atmosphere and lots of friendly chatter on the sidelines. It was great to see the boys together on the sidelines watching the other games. Hats off to the Sons for organizing and I hope they do it again next year.

Agree with Looneys being the top team but FCA was not at top. Looneys and then probably 91 Maryland or Legacy looked the second best of the day but all the teams were well matched and a great day of high level 8th grade lacrosse. Too bad for 91 as they led Express by 2 or 3 the entire game and let up in last 3 minutes to tie. Looneys would most likely beat 91 at this point.

They were not in the top 4.

Legacy got crushed by Looney's, how could they possibly be in the conversation?

There's only one score that counts in a game and that's the final score, how you get there doesn't matter.

Must be a legacy dad. Legacy tied Sons two weeks ago and was dismantled by Loonies yesterday, until they beat a quality team, they are middle of the pack.

What was the score of the Sons game? That's surprising as Express was up 5-2 with less than 10 mins left and then Sons scored 2 goals to close within 1 goal, but FCA took Express to school

The only conclusion that can be made is that Looney's was best, FCA must've had a different team vs. Express because there's no way that team loses to Sons 9-3 with same players, or gets beat easily by 91MD. All other games are toss ups, but Looney's convincing win over Legacy and two easy games does justify their #1 position.

Looney's showing the best down there doesn't really come as a surprise to anyone, does it? They are and have been very good. (LI parent...)

Noticed that FCA had a number of players with Calvert Hall and Loyola Blakefield helmets. How is that possible? Thought those were high schools? Do they have middle school teams as well?

LB has middle school, CHC does not. CH coach has son on team. The kids aren't in HS if that is what you're driving at

Not that hard to figure out. CH and LB are very closely tied to FCA.

Possibly but they trailed in their 3rd game the entire game by 2 or 3 and it looked like their opponent controlled most of the game and got sloppy at the end.

That last game was against 91 MD, who was one of the best teams there. Doesn't surprise me that they were trailing for much of it... and trailing by 2/3 goals isn't a huge margin. Much different than losing by 6.

My point was more to the FCA vs LIE score being the outlier, FCA is not that much better than LIE.

Sons scheduled game at 3 so they could play the full FCA team. Give Sons credit. They lack consistency on offense at times. They can play with anyone.

LIE's faceoff guy was visibly hurt and couldn't run, and he still won a lot of the faceoffs, maybe would've been different had he been full strength

That was not the score. Sons were up 2-0 then Express went up 4-2, 4-3, 4-4, 5-4. Express won all the faceoffs.

Incorrect, Express was up 5-2, Sons scored two good goals, and lost 5-4, Sons were up 2-0 early, and Express didn't win all the faceoffs either for a change, they usually dominate at the X against that team, maybe 70-30 or 80-20 in favor of Express, but their face off middie couldn't run in the second half. Not sure what the point of the prior post was, obviously from a bitter Sons' parent.

This sounds like an excuse to me! If you're hurt, get off the field. He should be happy he didn't have to face the looneys f/o. He is clearly heads above all the others!
