sure it evens out eventually but it does open the door for many girls in the early years
You would have to switch it back before 9th grade for recruiting purposes. Recruiting is done by grad year not by age. So switching it in the younger ages would only be a short term fix and then cause for big tryout switches the summer before 9th grade.
No it only has to be for travel and PAL type leagues. High school obviously can mix. We have to end holdbacks asap
Easier said than done -- would need to be done on national level, not just Long Island. Most DC/MD private school recommend kids starting school late so some of the top MD teams would lose half their team if this was implemented.

Is this something you really want? Why deny girls a chance to play better competition in middle school?
If you do, they will be shocked when they have to play these same girls in high school when focus moves to recruiting.
It needs to go to age based, period! Stop the advantages people are taken by holding back. Play up and not down only! If your kid wants a challenge in the youth years play up in club. Kids shouldn’t be able to play down at ALL!!!
