disagree. Rosters for 2029 and below teams have already changed due to the new rules. HOCO is using this rule too. Private schools will have a lot more reclass at the 9th grade level but pre first kids are screwed.

I don't think it will be that big of a problem (statistically). Very few 14 year olds will be "good sports" about the following scenario:
1) Hey, you should repeat 8th grade instead of being a high school student, who cares about your social cred?
2) On your club team, it will be no big deal to hear all your buddies' stories from High School while you're in 8th grade...again.
3) Hey I know your buddies are playing HS JV this year, but you can be a starter at the St. Pauls Middle School team!

This is why so many MIAA and IAC parents moved their students to private schools (and reclass) in 5th and 6th grade. Kid is far less likely to say "no." But with the new rules, it suddenly doesn't make much sense to reclass (for sports) in K-7 anymore.

There will still be the rare McCabe Millon who understand his dad's master plan and gets onboard without a fuss, and throws himself into the process, but that kid has always had a solid head on his shoulders and handled an 8th grade reclass with ease, he essentially became the king of the school. Let's talk about how rare that is for an 8th grader before we assume there will be an army of 8th grade reclasses in future years.

So you praise MM and his parents for reclassing? What is wrong with you? Parents like you ruin youth sports.
