An 11 year old on a 2023 team is a holdback and is really a 5 th grader. As long as the kid is in 4 th grade it's within the rules. That doesn't make it right but we all know that's how it works. Knowing that this is the case when you play up you know what your getting into. In this case I don't think the 3rd grade teams were looking to play up. They didn't have a choice and I doubt they were offered a refund. Maybe next year they will choose not to play in the tournament
