In PA children need to be 5 on or before 8/31 to enter Kindergarten. It is VERY common for children with summer Birthdays to not start school when they have just turned 5 but to wait until the next year. So they start Kindergarten as they just turned 6. That is if the parents (or schools) feel that they are not mature enough to handle kindergarten at a young 5. |
