It will be interesting to see what tournaments top teams go to now that USA lacrosse and NLF have set age verification. HOCO is adjusting to the new requirement and hopefully other tournaments will follow.

All the local teams checked the kids ages, so the is not reason to doubt compliance. It turned out that all the obsession over holdbacks impacted only a handful of kids.

I know a fair # of the 2029 holdback dads (I have a 2028 and a 2029) and here's the progression:

3rd-4th grade: my son is one of the best in the country!'
5th grade: cut, dropped to AA team
6th grade: held back into 2029, oh yeah baby, one of the best in the country again!
7th grade: reclassed back into 2028 and playing A or AA ball.
9th grade (2028 next year): probably quit lacrosse.

So true…..only exception is when daddy is the HC and kid never lost his spot until high school. See it happen first hand. Kid ended playing lower level D3 lax but let’s all remember when he was a superstar in 3rd grade.
