Depends on the team and the situation.
Most hs coaches aren’t in a spot to be able to directly turn anyone away if they apply and are admitted.
But they are in then business of making hs more attractive to some. And are the gatekeepers to their team once kids are there. My guess is most coaches will give a talented kid a chance, until they decide they can’t work with them, or the kid doesn’t buy-in. |
