Again, the game was taken away from BL. You detest to see kids work so hard and the officials give the win to McD. You would think that with all the video cameras and game personnel on the field this could have been reviewed? It is wrong how BL has to swallow this pill. BL would have taken this game in OT.
The refs had a short meeting before the game ended and reviewed the call. The question was, did the shot leave the stick before the horn sounded. The conclusion was yes, so the call stands: Instant replay for high school games? Guess some
aggrieved BL parent or alum will be footing the bill for taping equipment for all three MIAA Conferences and the personnel to run it? No one but the official running the time knows if the horn was a split second late. That’s life. Move on.
