US Lacrosse needs to establish two standards for all their tournaments BOTH age and grade.
The U-15 National Championship is intended to be Rising Freshmen, but US Lacrosse is ambiguous.
The reason they use U-15 instead of U-14 is so that the 10-15% of rising freshmen who are not U-14 eligible do not have to sit on the sidelines for a year watching their classmates play.
Unfortunately, the U-15s who already completed Freshman year (rising sophmores) are aslo playing. They are at a distinct advantage having experience with the speed of the H.S. game. US Lacrosse does itslef a disservice allowing this to occur. |
