Not sure I agree with your math here, especially for the high academic schools which dont offer athletic scholarships. I would estimate that 85% of the kids on Sports Recruits or similar recruiting platform say they have a 4.0 average (And we all know a 4.0 at your average public HS is a different basis from a 4.0 at Exeter Academy). Compare this to football or basketball and that's just not the case. Football and basketball are literally dying for high academic kids who can help their academic index, not so for lacrosse. Lacrosse is very competitive for high academic kids. I agree they should cut the rosters down though for quality control.
