exactly my point and for years we have mirrored their decisions....the NCAA also lowered lacrosse into the intermediate risk.... for whatever reason (fear) suffolk and nassau county will not change this....
understand that what they are doing in most districts is quarantining a team from practices and games but not school??? So it isnt about safety its about fear and accountability....
the ONLY way this gets changed is if parents go off and make local politicians uncomfortable
The administrators are only interested in publicizing how safe they've kept the students. The students are NOT the ones getting sick. The schools sit on their rears while kids are missing out on being kids, not just sports but all extracurriculars. You can sit inside at a restaurant but not outside at an away event. How does that make any sense. Given a little power the school administrators have run amok. You'll be marked absent if you miss a class but what happens when a teacher has been cancelling all year? Insanity.
