The executive function kicks in later with boys. Older is better. Anyone who's witnessed a young man's progression into adulthood can attest to that. Ask yourself a simple question: would you hire a kid fresh out of a great college or a young man who graduated from an academy and had 5 years of strong leadership and project experience. Unless its a quantitative only job, all else being equal, you would opt for the latter. Coaches are CEOs. They want highly productive players and men. Its about whats in their (the Lacrosse Program's) best interest not yours.
