I totally agree with your point. While there are always exceptions to the rule, having the most qualified coaches coaching both at the high school level and the club provides the most benefit to the vast majority of serious players.
As to the DG issue, Manhasset won the state championship this year. How can one argue that club team players were favored over others when the team won 20 straight games and achieved the highest level possible at the high school level. The argument falls flat on its face when the team wins it all. The coaches obviously put the best players on the field to put them in the best position to win.
And if there were parents complaining to the AD about playing time after the team winning the state title, shame on them. What a great lesson they’re teaching their kids about being a member of a team... |
