From a position of nothing to be jealous about, from a parent Who had a very heavily recruited 8th grader and 9th grader, it is a very welcomed change, I wish they had done it years ago where I could have benefited. I agree many of the kids will go on to have successfull college lax careers. Is it a nice stroke to your ego to be an early recruit, yes, but I completely get the ridiculousness of it, on both sides of the deal, believe the coaches are relieved.
So why would you let your kid commit early and if they did not do you think they would have gone to another school.
