This has to be a joke. In my experience players with the mentality to excell on the defensive end of the field are not recognition seekers. It is not only athleticism that makes good defensive players it is also their mindset. It takes all types of players to make a successful team. Somebody has to score goals, somebody has to play goali, somebody has to play D, some middies have to kill themselves between the lines. Good coaches find the right combination and get the most out of their players . Those are the coaches who will compete for championships. Newsday is a rag and HS stats don't matter.
