while the bulk of that post is way off. the fact is that some commits are in fact facilitated by a parent. for example a legacy family member with a building named for them at an IVY, parent who volunteers up front to pay full freight or better, a kid committing to a horrible program desperate for any one ( yes look at bottom of D1) parent presents a marginal player who has a sky high GPA. there are spots on the 55-60+ roster for these kids.
