Can we please talk about the teams? All this babbling about reclassing and PG years is just drivel. There are no ENFORCED rules in club lacrosse. This is a business and nothing else. None of the program directors care about the age or class, they only care about winning. If they cared they would do something about but they don’t. And we as parents keep writing the checks so we are part of it too.
Enough already, the “rules” are a joke and we all know it. It is what it is.
Now who is winning tri-star this weekend??? I’m taking venom. Well, if you don’t care that Leading Edge is using kids entering 10th grade on their 2028 team— I will tell you. Leading Edge will not lost a game. Period. And on Monday you’ll agree that 10th graders playing in a 2028 team might not be a fair proposition after all. Leading Edge lost in pool play and Venom got smoked by Chucks. So neither of the takes aged well. Just let the kids compete and get ready for HS.

The blue bracket at Tristar is such a wonderful troll job by the tournament committee. Throw all of the notorious “hold back, I’m reclassing later” teams in one bracket together. It’s perfect. All ages were verified Yes they are all older.

Venom doesn’t have a great track record at this tournament. Maybe next year they should consider doing Lax Fest

Yes, both are much better than Venmo The issue is that A teams have an expectation that AA (especially at the top clubs) of thinking they are the best and it’s more so every team in AA at the HS level can beat another AA team. Venom can go to 2-0 vs teams next time. There less and less and examples of elite teams they win most of the time. OG Turtles, Crush and now 2026 Express. It’s a good thing to have teams compete and win and lose on any random day.

3D has a few 2008 birthdates, the rest are 2009 with a couple of 2010s sprinkled in. That is roughly the same for 2way, RH, and LE. Hence why they were all put in the "Cheater Bracket" this past weekend.

If your 13-year-old is playing 2028, you’re likely from New York, where the December 1 cutoff puts them at a disadvantage, often leading to holdbacks born in September or October.
Most other states use a September 1 cutoff, making June and July holdbacks common. With the new lacrosse rules setting a June 1 cutoff, most kids outside New York are 14 turning 15, and some are already 15 by June.
The aggressive holdbacks? They’re almost 16 or already there.
