So high school decisions come out next week. Does there tend to be a lot of player movement between clubs going into freshman year? Will kids move clubs to align with coaches and other players on their high school teams?

And will there be someone ranking the 2026 recruiting classes!!??

There will be a ton of movement between 8th and HS. Both ways.
Many kids have already been seen by their hs coaches who are affiliated with clubs, so the movement will be used by kids to get better/different exposure for college.

Some others will in fact move to play with their hs teammates and make a better impression on their hs coaches who haven’t seen them as much.

Good news for all the recruits and hopefuls headed to CH- more renovations to Kelly Field are underway. They are adding additional benches to the sideline this year.

And an area for you to fluff incoming dads. Hop up off your knees.

Only Loyola is spelled correctly in this wizard’s ranking.

Poor St Marys is unfortunately guilty by association this year and people backed off. They will rebound nicely when the dust settles and there is no potential stain on the program for the next 4 years.

The decisions of the top tier kids are done.
But the depth kids are still deciding.

Huh? By definition, a 2026 player (regardless of age or holdback status) is in 8th grade, right?

Not a lot to people fond of RAGE being associated with their team. Waiting to see where he takes his clone before choosing where to go!

Unfortunately, some teams are holding back in lacrosse without holding back in school which means that the player is currently in 9th grade but playing on a 2026 team.

How does that help them in lacrosse? in HS ball not club they will still be playing against their own grade.

Uh, no they do not do that. Any team found to have a player(s) playing down would be DQ'd from HoCo and any tournament.

Right because HoCo and tournaments are super strict at verifying rosters.

I know for a fact this is happening in NJ. I can’t comment on the DelMarVa region

I have been coaching 2026 since the boys were in the 3rd grade. The next rosyer check I see will be the first. Last year during playoffs, our parents saw kids getting jerseys in the parking lot.

What teams are going to be in AAA this year? What teams are dropping down from Elite? Who is dropping out of AAA and who is moving up?

Except the clubs doing it are the ones running the tourneys.

Have faith. In 2021, in the 2028s semifinal (A ball), the HoCo Black coach requested a roster check before the game. 5 kids from True were found to not be on the True roster, were required to leave the field, and True got crushed by the #6 team in A ball lol.

Anyone know what teams are going to be in Elite and AAA HoCo this year?

My Son's team got a roster check by the opposing coach (HOCO pink) immediately after the game was over. We won the game, shocker. One of our players forgot his game jersey and borrowed a teammate's practice jersey for the game, so the opposing coach was suspicious. The ref did the roster check and we were cleared of any wrongdoing.

It wont be long until HOCO has to do what the youth football leagues do. Most require photo IDs to match their roster.

I'm not sure what the mod on here has a problem with, but there is a second part to this post......

The best part was watching the coach have to pay the ref the $50 protest fee in the parking lot as we were leaving.

Is there actually a fee to ask for a roster check?

There's a fee for roster check and a fee for challenging a game. It's especially tricky in playoffs, as you have only a few hours (on a saturday) to submit a written complaint and $50 cash to the HoCo Parks and Rec office which is obviously closed on Saturday. During the regular season, you can challenge a game or score as late as the next monday I believe.

I see no problem with that in either direction. I am glad that the coach who was suspicious called for the check, and also glad to hear that nobody was actually cheating. I wish there was a culture of "trust but verify" in all the games, and coaches felt comfortable checking whenever they had suspicion.
What is wrong with that?
