i think they lost to topguns B team

Um who now are run and coach Top Guns! Why didn't they stick with YJ if they were so great???

Several posts later I'm back. Look, I probaly should not have mentioned who my daughter plays for. Some MD mom was on bashing yellow jackets, so I some how stood up for some club I have no association with. I somehow got baited into revealing who my daughter plays for. In the end we are all a part of the same girls lacrosse community, I will leave the discussion on that.

YJ blue teams are great, the best in the country. all others are misfits going nowhere. parents just want to say there kids are YJ.

I am just a dad who would like to interject some reality into this discussion. my daughter plays for a small LI club that has lost more games than it has won so far this season. It has competed in just about every game and has played against some older teams. with that said I would be willing to pay double what i have spent if it keeps making HER happy. the enjoyment my daughter had at the pool, in the hotel,on the feild, under the tent and even at the rest stops after the tounament with her teamates was priceless. This argument over which club is better is foolish afterall it is supposed to be about the kids and what makes them happy. All of our wonderful children are going to go to college some will go big some will go small, some will play and some will not. either way they will still be our children and our only concern should be their happiness. Good luck to all the girls the rest of the way and may we as parents be content with their happiness.

For those who were following the Lax for the Cure tournament this last weekend, the tournament issued a ceremonial check for $223,000 to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer research foundation.

That is certainly the lead story from this charity event. As for the age group results, the champions are listed below :

That kind of revenue and profit also makes my cynical side question the amounts of money exchanging hands in Lacrosse right now on LI. Amazing. That quarter of a million $$ went to a wonderful cause. Not sure about the next quarter of a million at a tournament? I'm not trying to tell people how to spend their money. I'm just shaking my head at the $$ involved. I think it's time for some type of non-profit [lacrosse] (while not perfect) organization on the Island to help drive down the costs of soccer and open it up to the masses. Lots of kids want to play lacrosse but are not interested in a YJ or TG type program.

my post was not to bait you. My duaghter does play for YJ and we are not happy. We think it is important for us to hear from parents of all different clubs, not just top gun. Again, it was not a bait, it was a sincere desire to know. We realize you can find happy and unhappy paerents from all clubs. for us its about the unapraochable way the yj directors conduct themselves. the way they make you feel as if they don't give a ____ about your kid, that there is always someone to fill your shoes. are top gun dirextors approachable?

Sure, the Yellow Jackets have a great recruiting background. Too bad the college coaches are showing up to the Yellow Jacket games less and less because the truth behind the Yellow Jackets FRANCHISE is finally being unwound.

This is lacrosse. This is a way to get your kids into college. This is a way to make your kids happy. Not something for someone to make a lifestyle on and rip people off.

She does have tryouts and still adds new players even to the blue team and all the way up to 2012. Carol loves these girls and yes she makes money. Okay that's good for her. You can say what you want, please walk away if you are unhappy. Believe me there will be many, many girls at tryouts. Next year you will see many of the 2013 committed to colleges also. And yes carol does call coaches for her girls. She makes calls all the time. You have your opinion but carol and all the directors work damn hard and are at every tournament, at many of the different teams practices, and spend more time and effort than probably any other directors of other clubs

You can say that my comment is "uneducated" but I don't know how it could be uneducated when I'm getting first hand responses from college coaches saying that they are going to the Yellow Jacket games less and less because they know how they are taught to play.

Capital Blue 2013 cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Yellow Jackets, paced on offense by Besser Dyson (3 goals), Margaret Tucker Fogarty (2), and Carly Reed, Layne Vorhees, and Riley Christopher with 1 each. The Capital defense played particularly well. Wyatt Whitley, assigned to cover YJ and U-19 National Team attacker Courtney Fortunato, held the YJ star scoreless. Capital had no trouble moving the ball down field in transition, winning almost all the 50-50 balls and rarely, if ever, turning it over. It appeared Capital again playing like the team it was when it won the National Club Championship early in the summer.

If you do not personally believe that the Yellow Jackets program is your cup of tea, that's fine, but you would be hard pressed to take a non-profit program and place it competitively against the Long Island premier programs.

That's really funny that you say that considering that THAT non-profit program beat the Yellow Jackets. And THAT non-profit program has had girls get e-mails from Northwestern. And THAT non-profit program is getting just as big as Yellow Jackets and yet the price doesn't seem to rise every year. Oh yeah that's right, because THAT non-profit program is out there for the kids not for the cash.
