Anyone know about brine lacrosse tryouts what it is all about? Anything worth looking into?

Heard it is not worth it at this age. 2023's will take all the spots plus expensive.

Honestly, it's a tremendous waste of time. First of all, most spots will go to the 2023's. Second, most of those 2023 spots will go to Express kids. Third, at this age there is no game or tournament. Instead, you win an opportunity to spend about $2000 to go to a Brine camp down in Florida for 3 or 4 days in August (and pretty much no one wants to be in Florida in August). Better to wait until 8th grade when they actually play games and have some coaches there to recruit (if that's what you're concerned with).

The grapevine does not bode well for Brine and Express. Parents talk and its not pretty. Any news on this WARRIOR All America Team? Who is coaching?

The Warrior All America tournament looks like a cool concept, albeit expensive.
What's the rumor on this team? Will it be an open tryouts or is the team already handpicked?
How do you really separate kids at this age into the Top 22 or so?
Is there much separation in talent level?
Does anyone know who is coaching?
Would be impressive to see what the Top 22 from Long Island would do against other team from around the country....

Thought is we have 7 out of 8 weeks of travel lax tournaments june and july, sprinkled in with 3 or 4 town tournaments in april and may, plus our PAL season. A lot of families do non lax vacations that weekend because almost entire summer is lax. I think to spend another 1500 on that last july weekend, to sit through more lacrosse at umass would be tough on even the most insane lax families. Plus tryouts are 2 weeks later, then more money is due after that. Like roberto duran said"no mas."

It is Warrior so it may be DLT/91.

91 (and all of its sub/sister teams) has a merchandising and equipment contract with Warrior. You figure out the rest.

Are defense and attack normally the larger kids?

My son was born in Oct. of 2006. he plays on a 2024 team. Is he eligible to tryout for the 2025 team being that he is of the right age,but in 5th grade?

Defense are definitely normally the larger boys, but now a days you have to be large for all positions. Attack should be large and strong as well. Middie you need the legs so sometimes they are the smaller boys. But if your son is small, good luck. He'll have good run on a B team but going into 6th grade next near no coach wants a small defensive or attackman.

October of 06 is 2024 (5th grade) in NY. Are you interested in having your boy play down? Really?

Hmmm, going to disagree on that one, lacrosse has no set size tables. Peruse every D-1 program and you will see what I'm saying. Not sure you have much experience in this sport with that comment.

Lacrosse is a speed + skill sport. Size has a place, but especially in the younger years a big kid can play anywhere, M/D/A.
