Yellow Jackets had a very strong weekend but before you get too excited about that 38-1 realize that 21 of those points were against a way overmatched team that played half the game a girl down because they had no subs and one girl was injured (not in the YJ game). Just a little perspective. ;-)
Shouldn't perspective be applied before the final scores of 21-1 and 17-0 are posted? Think about it. Trust me when we tell you that BOTC did not consider the 38-1 total to be a "high"-light.

Look, we understand that the four-game group schedule in six-team brackets forces teams to play for goals-against and goals-for, but at one point should a tournament cap these numbers? Why are we encouraging thrashing teams at this level and then preaching good sportsmanship?

This topic has been brought up numerous times on other boards. This year certain age groups had stacked brackets. That's ok if you take the top two teams from the "power brackets." However, when you have top teams being knocked out because they have to play each other is ridiculous.

Lastly, having one of the tie breakers be goal differential promotes running up the score. All the tournament needs to do is put Ina maximum goal differential for any one game.

If National Draw keeps this up, I think they will continue to lose teams.

IWCLA needs to smarten up and join forces with other tournaments, so the clubs are not FORCED to go to tournaments that are only run by Corrigan Sports. Clubs need to ban together so that we can have tournaments that involve all ages and can still be a recruiting tournament.

U.S. Lacrosse caps there regionals and nationals at an 8 goal differental, 8-0,16-2,24-3 etc. those scores are not becoming either. They need to consider a method adopted by some "soccer" tournaments. Points are not only based on wins, losses and ties but shutouts, goals for and against with a ceiling on differental(doesnt matter if you win by twenty of seven) max points of 2 or 3 would be allotted once at what ever tourney standards are set for goal differntial. this way you would create many more opportunities to get or lose points lessoning the chance of reaching some of these tie breakers which would still be in place in case of ties at the end of pool play. Just a thought and I know "soccer is a dirty word in the lacrosse community.
