Thinking about trying out for team 91 tri-state Monday Aug 3 or Tuesday Aug 4. How's their girls program?
Can anyone share information on
Liberty
Too Guns
Empire

91 gives their girls program zero love and they are never competitive. Like ever. What you're seeing is all marketing and a sham. Plus, your daughter will only be entered in 91 "mylacrossetournaments" which are generally a battle of the B teams. Better to lose in A then win in B.

Depending on where you live, I've seen competitive girls teams (not 2027, older teams) from STEPS and Dewlax in NJ. CT Grizzlies in CT. I've also seen some decent girls teams coming out of BBL (NJ) and Primtetime (Westchester/CT).

Many teams are still practicing - contact club directors and arrainge to go to see a practice. Then have your daughter tryout if you like what you see.
What are the top 27 LI teams? I know YJ Grazidei is up there. Who else? TG? Jesters?
YJ Grazidei and Jesters
FLG 27 Navy and YJ Grazidei.
How about Elevate and Liberty?
Jesters has better training and better coaching.
91 Girls program is terrible
Elevate as a program has been around forever but fallen steeply the past few years. Jesters has scooped up the talent
Ekevste has taken a huge fall over the last few years. Used to be a top club. Director charges top $ and gives sub par training. Try’s to do it all himself and it’s not working. Girls can not compete at top level.
Jesters club seems to be investing in their teams and adding coach’s and good training. Picking up Elevates slack perhaps
What’s the pecking order on the yellowjackets team? Whose the “a” team etc. thanks
Liberty better than jesters and elevate. Yj flg and traditions are top 3.

Grazidei
Gaghan
Palermo
Anyone know anything about the 2027 Top Guns team?
Are there 1 or 2 Top Guns teams at this age?
Jesters trolls BOC and trying to sell their program.
Still YJ then Top Guns. All the other clubs are trying to get the girls but YJ and Top Gins will always be on the top, have the best training and be in the best tournaments.
from what I’ve seen the 2 yj teams are the best. If the 2nd team is in the aa bracket none of those teams touch them. But man, I thought 91 dads wore a lot of team gear. Yj dads take that to the next level. And not for nothing, a yellow jacket is not a bee. So all your T-shirt’s are wrong.

Grazidei then FLG Navy. No one close to those 2 right now. If you watched Queen of the Island game you would know.
Queen of the Island showed that YJ is far superior to any of the clubs. Even their B teams. Liberty is slipping as they got crushed by FLG and other games were won by just 1 goal. I haven’t seen Top Guns play yet. Jesters is starting to just accumulate teams. Not sure how successful they will be. My guess is you will see movement from team to team after this season.
YJ B team will close the gap at some point. Not close to either Grazidei or FLG Navy. FLG has blown out YJ B on several occasions the last couple years. Games were not competitive.
Top Guns seems very quiet in this age group. Anyone familiar with how good they are? How many practices per week?

You will know by June 13 after Live Love Lax games. They play M&D Black, BLC, NEMS and Big 4 HHH.
I believe there is only 1 Top Guns Black team

Top Guns always puts their teams in the top tournaments. This years team is very strong but tough competition for their first tournament.

Ok TG parent. Maybe Elevate? Not Liberty and Jesters. One of them will prob. Beat Top Gun

Liberty’s A team at this age is just a B team. They can’t beat any of the legit A teams (FLG, YJ) last tourney they barely beat Empire. Jesters is turning into a money making machine that will take anyone’s money and make another team. They aren’t developing anyone.

Liberty teams tend to stay more local at the younger ages. Jump Into June, Queen of the Island, Lax Fest, Summer Slam, etc. Go to the bigger out of state tournaments when they are older.

Makes sense to train and play local at the younger ages. Unfortunately, the better comp for them does not stay local. They should all play local and get each other better to go take on the MD teams. Plus, why does an 8 year old need to be traveling out of state when we have great players here on LI ?

This seems to have worked as they have had some great older teams. Doesn’t a lot of their players play Manhasset HS? Consistently one of the best HS teams?

Liberty can’t complete with the better teams at any age.

The Liberty A team at this age is fractured because of the nonsense a parent pulled with the 7v7 league. You will see some of the top kids leave. Writing is on the wall for this team. They will always be a B team playing in the A bracket. They will only beat the other B teams in the A bracket. They will never be as good as YJ or FLG. Would love to see them play Top Guns.

so YJ, Top Guns, then the rest? Where do the top liberty players then go? Also doesn’t GC have a team at this age?

FLG, YJ and then TG. Many of these A Liberty kids wouldn’t make A teams in other organizations.

This is 2027 post. Most are 12, not 8. But I do agree they could play some local.
i was reading all these comments and either their are mistakes in all of the scores at Live Love Lax or we have a very uninformed crowd......Here are scores of Day 1 of LLL......
M&D 27 Black (17) to Top Gun 27 Black (3)
BLC 2027 (14) to Top Gun 27 Black (1)

Liberty, Empire and FLG are no where to be found however Jesters 2027 Black did go 2-1 at Lax by Sea playing Steps Elite, Ultimate CC and Blue Devils. Found an app called TSIC-Events that give all scores and is a great hammerhead. After looking at scores throughout all ages i see Top Gun struggling at the younger ages and doing fairly well at the older ages. I see Jesters at the top of every age group at every age so i have to say i disagree with who's developing players and who's not. As far as Liberty, Empire and 91 goes they are not in the same talent pool compared to YJ and Jesters. I have to say it like it is, i used to be very critical of Jesters in years past but they seem to be an up and coming club that get better and better every year. Don't take it from me. Research it like i have and see for yourself.
Hey Top Gun Parent,
Long Island Jesters have passed Top Gun which is exactly why you are sweating them. I have 3 daughters all playing for YJ and we play Jesters everywhere we go. However i don't see Top Gun anywhere so stop your silliness. TG has two good teams left at 2022 and 2023 and after that they are struggling. For example TG 2027 Black Team lost today 17-3 & 14-1
Just saw that the Blue Devils playing in an A bracket down in PA and tying all their games. So an 8-5 Jesters win last week doesn’t look that impressive. FLG playing in same tourney in AA bracket thumped NXT Black and Freedom.
YJ looking rough in Delaware. Two big Ls to low tier Maryland clubs. Uh oh, panic setting in.

Nah, team will be ok. Parents...tough to tell. Although everyone raising their hand to be the next parent coach. "Earns" you a starting spot

Jesters trying to hype up their own club!
Jesters with 2 big time wins against Ultimate CC 27/28 combo and BLue Devils 2027 plus a loss to STEPS B team. Hype away!

Which games are you referring to? Coppermine and MD United both beat YJ, but those are not “low tier” MD clubs, in fact Coppermine is ranked fifth and MDU ninth in national ranks (granted those rankings are missing some top NY teams).
They also beat the #1 ranked team for the second consecutive week.

Jesters just comes on here and tries to sell their club. I'm starting to lose the little respect I had for the club.

I mean its not based on opinion. Its just a simple formula that looks at the schedule, goals for and against and the records.

Nobody is is getting a trophy engraved here, I'm just looking at how you define "low tier" clubs.

Speaking of which, Long island Top Guns typically has a strong reputation, looks like the 2027 team is struggling and just pulled out of the A division in Summer Genesis?
Rankings of the 6th-grade girls' team are over the line, but reading and posting about 6th-grade girls' teams on a message board, perfectly fine? LOL.

Ranking then at this age is ridiculous. The top teams will most likely stay that way. FLG and YJ will retain the top talent and take it from other clubs. Some movement will happen between the A and B in that club as the rockstars who peak at 12 level out and others catch up. The other A teams will have plenty of rotation. This year you will see a lot of movement. By 9th and 10th grade the kids stay where they are. Parents hopefully realize what their kids potential is or isn’t and are ok with it and stop yelling use your left from the sidelines. There are a small percentage of scholarships out there. Try not to hang your hat that your kid is definitely going to get one. And that free ride for lax you are expecting is slim to none. Been through this with my older one. Play travel because they love the sport and are having fun. Stop chasing the next best A team and don’t count the B team kids out yet. They are only 11/12.

FLG? Top “A” club team? Looking for a team for my daughter and was wondering, because people say different. Is the 6th grade level better at FLG than it’s older teams?

Clubs can vary by year. The FLG team at this age is good. Not sure if I think they are better than YJ A but up there. The YJ also have made a strong B team that would beat most A teams. Don’t get so hung up on A&B. Find a coach with a good track record that has a philosophy that you agree with. Just because an organization has an A & B team means nothing. Their A team may be better than their B but can’t compete with other legit A teams. Wait till they start adding AA teams! These clubs will carry as many teams as they can. Even if they can’t compete.
Aces Elite 27 seems to be in that top tier, ahead of YJ. Who else is at the elite level in 27 age group outside of the Hero's Green and M&D?
Aces Elite isn’t a LI team. Most of this conversation has been based on the LI teams.

Yep, like Monster, they are upstate, I am just trying to figure out the best outside the state of MD, which I think I have a pretty good understanding of.

Bro get some help. I’m guessing this is your oldest kid? Don’t spend your afternoons scrolling tourney machine. None of this matters as long as she is getting better.
Aces is the best non MD team Ive seen. On another level than nearly all other teams. Best shooters out of all.

Rochester, NY.
What teams have the best training on Long Island? I’m trying to figure out what clubs to tryout for.
Not sure why the post about YJ got removed. Hum? Issues with the 2027 A team?

It means nothing. It’s a hyped up event. Fun for the kids and families in it but it means squat in the long run. At least they didn’t have to fly to Denver this year just to play other NY teams. So dense. They are in 7th grade.

The early adopters here will win like the boys.
TG and Liberty tryouts are at same time this year. Which is the stronger team?

Liberty A team is in trouble and many are rumored to be looking elsewhere. The Liberty B team is a non event. TG has been struggling lately at many age levels. They tend to play many tournaments away so that is something to consider. Also need to decide how hard core your kid wants to be. Liberty parents are nuts and are constantly adding extra “voluntary” practices which don’t seem voluntary. She could wind up practicing 4 days a week and still won’t be as good as FLG or the YJ teams. That said if your daughter is good you could call these clubs and see if they will evaluate her on a different day.
Predictions of Club cost this year ?

Liberty plays more fluff to make themselves look better but not an a team compared to the better clubs. If they entered legit a brackets the girls wouldn’t be so high on themselves. Top guns better, play better events but I’ve heard mixed things. Find a spot where the coaching is good and she is going to learn and get better. The rest will figure itself out.
Thank you. What mixed things about TG have you heard? They seem to have some very strong years.

They allowed all the girls from the previous year to sign up without trying out due to covid, so the team is a mix of a and b girls. Next year will be different with tryouts.

You should find out where the clubs practice and go speak with some of the current parents. Don’t speak to the club owner/directors as they will all tell you exactly what you want to hear. This forum is not the best place to get advice. People love/detest certain clubs for certain reasons. Much easier to get a true read from speaking with parents not people sitting anonymously behind a keyboard. It’s a big investment and you should do research to find the best fit for your daughter and your family.

Says the parent who is here reading and posting on BOTC. Sounds like a Liberty or TG parent that doesn’t like hearing a negative about their kids club. Sure, let me walk into a practice of any club and strike up a conversation with the parents. I am sure they will tell a total stranger that they are unhappy with anything or that their kid is looking at other options. While you will get sour grapes from some parents here, I think you will also find truth to some of the things. Do some research. Just because they say it’s an A team doesn’t mean it is. Winning games and tournaments means nothing if the competition isn’t against true A teams. Go watch some games. Does half the roster dominate play? Being the bottom of an A team doesn’t mean your kid will play. If you are interested in having your kid collect t-shirts or you can get we are the champs FB post while riding the bench or playing very little then you are all set. If your kid doesn’t see the field it isn’t worth the money. B teams can provide good training and plenty of opportunities for your daughter. Be realistic about their ability. Get info on the coach. Be ready for changes. These clubs will see a ton of movement over the next few years.
Not a Top Gun or Liberty parent. You sound like a parent who has probably changed clubs multiple times already because you little superstar is on the bottom half of the roster. You’re right, that’s a much better idea: drive to NJ, Pa, MD, VA to stalk games to see who is and who is not playing! 🤔 There are a ton of “keyboard warriors” on this site and no, you don’t always get a objective opinion.

My kid is 12 and has been playing travel for a year with 1 club. We have played TG and Liberty. It is easy to see that there are kids that don’t play. I don’t need to travel anywhere but my own kids game. Liberty has 4-5 standouts that still can’t compete with the YJ or FLG A teams (minus the top girl who is rumored to be moving to YJ) The rest of the team rotates in and out. TG is definitely more of a mix and someone above clarified they didn’t cut girls because of Covid. I would think that will be different this year if there is new talent at their tryouts.
How often do you have to nudge your girls to practice on her own? My kid loves the sport but usually needs prodding to go outside and do her reps. She’s only 11 so maybe this is typical and it’ll get better as she gets older…or is that wishful thinking?

Too much lol. I basically tell her that you will get out of these sports what you put into it, outside of regular team practice. If you want to get better, make it happen. And also that travel sports are expensive and that I’m not paying for it so she can be casual about it. If I’m paying out in extra work. Does she listen? To a certain degree but that is most of the girls I think. I also don’t want to push her. These are just games/sports right? And she’s involved in 4 sports right now so where do you find time with much of them year round.

I got a 12 yr old, we have scheduled practices (with a coach) outside of club, usually once a week. She never has issues with this. She'll go out on her own from time to time, but honestly, they don't have a lot of free time and I don't want her burned out so I try not to ride her.

We'll ask if she wants to go to a friends house to practice and she nearly always does so id suggest group workouts with her teammates. They enjoy that.

She's also a goalie so we always get asked to come have her friends shoot on her.

This is a hard one. I know many that force their kids to practice. I have seen it backfire as the kids get resentful and burnt out. Your kid need to want it. You wanting them to be an amazing player isn’t going to do it. Sadly watching my older one I have noticed that it is often the parents dream of having a kid go D1 or being the best kid in town.

I have an older one who's 14 and she goes outside to practice on her own, working on stick tricks, perfecting her "around the world" and so forth. When she was 12, I had to "remind" her to do wall ball. My 12 year old still needs "reminding." There may be a light at the end of the tunnel for you. I feel it may be age-based or because of wanting to compete with the older girls. I'll let you know for sure in two years.

But in my experience, the thing that works best, it's corny and the subject of TV commercials, is "Hey, you girls wanna go have a catch?" We can be out there for an hour (and I never played lacrosse, they are gracious with me). Everyone has fun. Especially them ... making fun of me.

Ha, great post!
Great stuff. Lacrosse if definitely a journey for these girls with different stages of love/like/detest/love again. Burnout is a real concern. I would say that once they’re 13/14, they have to really want this themselves. And parents should know when to pull back and let their kid lead.
I’m hearing rumblings of YJ making a fourth team. Not surprised since they’re all about the $$$ but just wondering how low are they willing to go?
How competitive are the other two teams after the top one?

They are good. I’d say the 3 yj teams, flg a, top guns, are probably top tier. The 2nd/3rd yj teams are better than jesters/liberty etc.

Where do these teams pracrice?
If your daughter is a solid player for this age, what team should you try out for. I don’t care about how far, but sticking to Long Island.

If you’re willing to coach as well then I suggest YJ Grazzy. Regardless of your daughters talent she’ll get to play the whole time.
Now that is hysterical! Ask those 10 kids that barely see the field about that one!
Now that is hysterical! Ask those 10 kids that barely see the field about that one!

My daughter is on grazzy. Team is broken, toxic. Parents complained because our practices became hour long white board sessions designing plays to get the ball to our star player. We still kept losing so coach threw his toys and refused to practice for a month. We did win the mid Atlantic but many bench kids didn’t go and a few left mid tournament after zero minutes. The coach literally plays 12 girls the entire game for entire tournaments. And remember 2 parent coaches and a goalie so you’re talking about 9 spots for playing time. The entire offense and strategy revolves around one girl. There are no assisted goals, no cutting, no off ball. Good luck to the new parents and kids. Not paying for that experience again. My PAL team practiced more and not a white board in sight!

Parent coaching has to stop at these clubs. Pay for some coach’s that are not affiliated with the kids and the parents

So where do you go from there? Many of these teams have those types of issues. Parents creating sub teams to compete in 7vs7 tournaments. Same top kids play more than the rest and some are just there to sit the bench. Parents are willing to deal to say their kid is on an A team. If the coaching is good they get that benefit but if they aren’t I. The game it is pointless. These clubs need to learn to develop every kid on the team. I would rather play for a less competitive team who is vested in developing my daughter than have my kid ride the bench and say but she is on the A team. I don’t know that they exist but would love to hear peoples opinions.

Third YJ team (Gaghan) is no where near other top teams. routinely play in lowest bracket in top tourneys and go around .500

Not sure. I have no doubts there are issues everywhere. Just thought all should know what they are getting into if you decide to take my daughters spot. I’d love to hear the good/bad on some of these other clubs.
FLG parent- no complaints at all. The coach is amazing and the Winks do it right. Know all the girls in the program by first name regardless of team. Very happy.
Typical Whining. Everyone makes excuses. If your daughter was good enough, she would be playing. YJ coaches put the best players on the field. That’s all.

I was waiting for that predictable response. And you are absolutely right. Congrats to you and your daughter if you are one of the 9 best lacrosse players on the island (we have one goalie and 2 coaches kids). Personally my (biased opinion) is that beyond a couple of clear stands outs the rest of the girls top to bottom are pretty close.
Imagine how good the YJ team would be if they actually practiced and had a good coach??? For those of us staying we’re hoping for a coaching change.

Nonsense, not always. Plus, It’s 6th grade! All the players should be playing pretty equally and developing at this age. “Best” players are developed that way. A “good” coach will Give the girls a chance to develop their playing on the field in live games at this age. It can’t be all about winning in 6th grade!! Coaching just to win in 6th, Makes some potentially “best” players want to quit! Need good coach’s who want to “develop” young girls and give them a chance to grow their game.

It’s 6th grade - Play all the girls and give them a chance to use their skills in a game. No one will remember the wins and losses in a couple of years. The best player now, is not always the best in 8th grade. Give the girls a chance to play. Start by - Taking parents out of coaching their own kids. Find coach’s looking to develop all the kids

Or you could focus on yourself and just leave us all alone with our choice. Nobody cares about you.

But you can’t have a team of 9. You need bench strength to compensate for injuries and conflicts. If you take 20 on a roster you should develop 20. Nobody should be ok with paying a few grand so that the top 9 can play. And a good coach should be able to get all the players on the field. And I hope that your daughter continues to be a top 9. There is a long way to go. A torn ACL could put your daughter in the bottom 9 very quickly. Some of these girls are just hitting their stride and will start to dominate. Some of these kids will quit because burnout and overuse is real. One kid should never play a full game. It isn’t healthy for their body.

My D played and beat YJ in summer tournament. I found your coach to be a class act, as well as the parents, very encouraging and not toxic like some parents can be, especially in defeat. One thing I did not like, our player got injured pretty bad with a slash to the head. I was disappointed to see on YJ IG account a photo of the YJ player who provided the cheap shot standing over our injured player, as if celebrating it. Also saw same type of image from another game you all played.

Not sure who controls the IG page, but it was certainly noted.
Don’t let one inappropriate post, or a single parent change your opinion of this team collectively. We never want to see anyone hurt, nor do we celebrate it.

I’m on the same sideline as you pal. And you eye roll the same as I do about the lack of practices, lacrosse IQ and parent coaching.
This is such a coward post. This must be your oldest child. Have you met with the coaches? Expressed your concerns? Found out what your child needs to work on? Where are they strong? Where they need improvement? Came up with a plan to help her? You either did, and didn’t like the answers, or you didn’t, and your just spewing garbage in an attempt to make YOU feel better about your situation. Do it right. Every parent, on every team, at every level has something they don’t like or would like to see more of, but this isn’t the right way.
Parents are 90% of the problem. We have PAL coaches in our town who bring ringers in for games and Pull certain girls to the side before games and instruct them to only pass to each other. Some girls play the whole game and the “bad” ones get shuffled in and out and hidden on the field at attack where nobody passes. When parents realize it isn’t just about the win and remember these are kids we would all be better off!
As another parent from the team above. The original post is really out of line. If you were that frustrated by how things were being run you would have addressed it within the last 2 years. But you didn’t, you just posted nonsense on an anonymous board.

Every parent on any “A” team(any club) is made aware that they want all the kids to succeed and the team to win. Your kid succeeding is up to themselves and somewhat on the parent. The coaches play kids that will help their team win and have earned time. Not every “great” player is the star, and not every kid that is limited athletically sits on the bench. Kids earn their time based on what they contribute.

Not every kid is meant to play in this type of environment. It helps some kids get better. As a parent that is on you to figure out what is best for your kid. So take some ownership on the environment you placed them in. And take some responsibility on yourself on how you are acting about that now.

As far as bashing the coaches. That’s really classless. They’re trying their best. They have gone out of their way to help these kids. No coach is perfect, everyone can Monday morning quarterback every situation in their life. Bashing the parent coaches in some cases may be correct, but not here. Those 2 kids deserve every second of time they get on the field.

Really disappointed that parents would start this type of HS drama BS after the positive end to the season. If you’re not happy go somewhere else, set a good example for your kids. Stop acting like .......(insert your own term here)

totally agree. problem is the COACH did not like this and viewed as complaining, etc. so he just shut it down and basically quit on the team.Name any team (not just top tier) that did not have a single practice from late June through July. Literally one practice the day before traveling to final tournament. I just think how much better the team could be and my daughter too. Instead I had to pay to get her training to keep the stick in her hand.
Well said…
If she’s on that team, I assume she’s good enough to play part of the game. We’re not talking about a C team here. It’s ridiculous that at this age, kids are being benched the entire game. Total bs
100%!!! Which is why daddy coaches MUST go! They are emotionally damaging these girls at a sensitive age.
My town too. Pitiful. The only way to grow is through mistakes and these daddies deny girls the chance to develop as players. It’s borderline abusive.

Agree! Hope some club directors reading this!!! Please get rid of the Parent coach’s after 4th grade! You make plenty of $s and can afford to pay coach’s other than parents!!!!
At the risk of being called classless by you, ironically also anonymously, I will risk responding.

As much as you want to convince yourself this isn't true, there is one stand out on this team, and she's not a coach's kid. And there is almost always just ONE reason a parent coaches and it's because they actually do know that if they aren't there...their kid miggghttt not be on the field, and certainly not for the whole time. It's a great move, but no one (except you) doesn't see it clearly. There is only one way to know if your kid EARNS their time, and it's to have the courage to walk away. Listen, I also get it's hard to do---b/c you actually do see your kid get better because of your involvement. Kids who play, get the opportunity to grow as a player. So the cycle of dad coaching continues. No one is saying they shouldn't play---but nonstop?Come on now. I wish clubs would at least require that parent coaches always have a lacrosse background of their own---make it a LITTLE less blatant. There's a great children's book that Derek Jeter wrote and he writes all about how he didn't play on his little league team b/c the coach's kid played the same position as him....this is a tale as old as time that really does impact good players. One parent coach is always bad. You sound new to sports, but seriously, you should poll any kid or parent on ANY team that has to deal with a dad coach with a kid who plays the same position. And it's a common problem, esp in lacrosse. But TWO parent coaches? Just shouldn't be allowed. Keep the one who is more qualified.

But more importantly, the reality is that NO player, at ANY level, but certainly not in 6th grade, deserves unlimited and unrestrained playing time. That's not how sports work...even the most elite athletes come off, for many reasons.
Depends on the parent and player. We have parent Dad coach who has no lacrosse playing background but has coached 15 years and his daughter is our best player and plays less than we parents want. You are on the wrong team.
Agreed
There are so many great coaches out there. Next time at a tourney listen to the way the coaches coach, watch for the relationship they seem to have with the girls and most of all watch to see if the girls are truly happy. 60-70% of girls quit sports by the age of 15. Our goal as parents is to keep them involved through high school. After listening to these coaches on the sidelines the last few years TG, Empire, FLG, and Jesters seem to have teams that have coaches that have a great way with the girls communicating both on and off the field. Girls and parents both seem very happy.
I agree with a lot of what your saying, but, in this case, these 2 girls (coaches kids) are very good players. They contribute and help this team tremendously. So as a broad statement, you have a point, I just don’t think it applies to this team.
Which team
YJ
It does apply to this team. No one is debating whether they deserve to be on the team. No one is debating whether they should play or not. The answer is of course they should to both.
But They do not come off the field. And I will not spend time critiquing the individual weaknesses of 12 year old girl lacrosse players, but am comfortable saying, they ALL have them. And these coaches kids don’t ever come off. When they are tired? They switch them to defense. Tell me a midfield line on any other team that doesn’t sub? That’s ludicrous. They are never game changers. There is only one girl that wins games for the team, and you take out her contributions and the rest of the team doesn’t compensate, at this point. That’s not to say they couldn’t with proper coaching, but they don’t now. And that’s Including the coaches kids. Saying they deserve unlimited playing time at the expense of other very talented and under utilized 12 year old kids is really not based in reality.
There are teams with no drama. They may not be what some would consider top teams or A teams. Look into the coaches. What is their philosophy? Maybe your kid would be better in an environment with less drama and coaches that are about more than the win. My older one played Icon (which some wouldn’t have considered a top program). She loved her team and coach. They didn’t always win. Often they lost more than they won. She now plays for a D1 school. She didn’t need a club with all the bells and whistles. We didn’t deal with the same girls on the field all the time while others rode the bench. Best part she had fun. Stop chasing t-shirts and focus on the training and the environment. My 2027 currently plays for an “A” team and will be looking at different clubs with an environment more like my older one had on Icon (Empire, Elevate, even the new program at S2S).
Plenty of travel clubs out there. Find somewhere where your kid is happy. “A” teams aren’t meant for everyone. They’re not going to change. Best kids in most competitive sports will play more. It will only become more prevalent as they get older.
Well said and so true.

They are good but certainly not top and on any given day the girls that don’t play are better. Point is if their parents weren’t coaches I highly doubt they never leave the field as is the case now.
