Cross checks in the back behind the play. Slashes to the head/face. The yellow card play was the dirtiest cross check I’ve ever seen in girls lacrosse.

They clearly aren’t used to losing and handled it poorly.

Massapequa notorious for “physical” play. Legal and not so legal! I’m sure lots of cards to them this year! Dangerous.

Oh boy! Who did they play bc is wasn’t GC, Manhasset,, Long Beach or CSH. Must have been an unexpected loss.

My best guess is that they took the L from either Wantagh- Seaford PAL or Bellmore/ Merrick….. leaning more towards the former lol

It was Miller Place that they lost to. 8-6.

Was this PAL? Has it changed and suffolk and nassau play each other now? Just curious

Think that has always been the case in recent years.

Have seen some Nassau teams like GC and Manhasset come to west islip and 3 villagaes

None of this seems surprising based off of fall results

YJ doesn't play in the NGLL? Where do they and teams like Aces play in the spring?

TG doesn't either

Would be much better if all the LI teams played. Maryland has everyone participating. Goes a long way toward readying for the summer tourneys

It’s really too bad YJ and TG don’t play. Shows the selfish nature of their owners I suppose. Full participation by all the teams would be so good for Long Island and all the girls.

NGLL still a great league without YJ….

Would also say, we see all the Long Island teams enough that we are considering withdrawing our A team from Queen of the island and sending our B team.

Really no need for Queen of the island is we are playing most teams from Long Island. My prediction is that Queen of the island will fade

One more point on Queen of the island… If they don’t do a better job at briinging teams from Maryland, NJ, CT… you’ll start to see some Long Island clubs not participate. Especially now with the NGLL

NGLL Mid-Atlantic has all the Maryland teams and Northern Va teams participating. Some of their divisions have over 20 teams. It would be great if they can do something similar for NY.

Seems like that’s their goal in NY. They’ve been pretty heavy on social media. Also saw a few Connecticut parents at Long Island NGLL event this weekend helping run the event. can easily see this turn into a much more ongoing and consistent league during the year.. just like youth soccer. Those weekend summer tournaments in the blazing heat are not it. Maybe you keep 1 or 2 max. But a league with games spread out would be a much more healthier approach, especially from a mental health standpoint

YJ will not enter any teams in the NGLL because it is run by a competing company.
TG is not practicing to let the girls focus on school and PAL lacrosse.

The reason the league works so well in Maryland is that they do not have a PAL type of league. The Maryland teams have a winter league and then the NGLL spring league. They are at an advantage when the summer tournaments start as they have been playing together for so much longer.

Pretty silly not to enter if the reason is that it’s run by a competing company. YJ goes to summer genesis and lax for the cure, and Maryland cup and those are run by a competing company. Anyway, not our problems, other teams will just catch up.

YJ still sittting at 6 games at this age group. As a comparison:

M&D- 15 games
Primetime- 12 games
Jesters Black -18 EIGHTEEN! This organization will pass YJ

Just look at the mid Atlantic league at my goodness

12 teams in the A division and 30 teams in the B division. totally on another level down there

Jesters black barely beat legacy at ngll last week and then lost by 4 to igoo…. Who are they passing?

The team that won the 2030 division NGLL last year isn't even in it this year. I'm not sure it's going to grow the way you think.

The idea that more games means better organization- can you explain that logic? My thoughts are that it is more important how much teams are practicing and developing players at a developmental age.

Practices at game speed are minimal at this age group which is why actual game experience supersede practices

Agree. It is also a shame that there is no B bracket here at this age. In terms of population, this is one of the biggest grades (if not, the biggest) on Long Island. We reached out in Feb and there was only 1 B team participating/ signed up. Disappointed in all the club directors on LI that constantly yap about growing the game and then u get this.. and already giving up on 10/11 year old kids… awful.

I am not from LI. Which LI club teams do not participate in the NGLL?

Top guns and yellow jackets won’t do it because they can’t make any money off it. Yellow jackets will sign up for queen of the island and any spring league run by Long Island Lacrosse Journal. They only do that because they are partners in those events

Lax On Elite also doesn't do it even though they won it last year because of some things with the team they beat in the finals.

When we got the teams that were participating Igloo was the only organization with a team in the B bracket. Not associated with them but kudos to giving your girls an opportunity to play. The rest of Long Island… shameful…

Think you have 1 or 2 more years max to find the right club.
