Sorry, I thought this was a 2026 forum? That had nothing to do with a 2026 team. But honestly, just play by the rules. Plain and simple. Some may need to remember that when raising their boys to be men.

Most of the elite 26s are holdbacks. Pretty much all holdbacks are private school kids and those private schools have high schools (BL,McD, LB...). Just based on that you get a pretty good idea. Plus, parents have already made their decisions and talk on the sidelines.

1. Spalding.....Getting most of Hawks kids, lower tuition than other area Privates
2. Loyola......Good chance to get on field....cheaper tuition, good education.
3. BL....Great tradition, attracts lacrosse kids, but some not willing to take chances with National recruiting.
4. STM....Spalding leftovers
5. MCD.....Parents don't want to send their kids to be indoctrinated with Woke agenda
6. CH.....Poor man's BL.....Too much competition locally and nationally
7. Gilman.....see #5

STM —-Spalding leftovers have you seen the list of D1 players that come from STM??! Spalding was a one hit wonder last. Back to the bottom of the barrel going forward. BTW that new public school across the street from Spalding looks great. Who sends their kids to private school in glen burnie……..

Protests as to the use of an ineligible player must be made within 48 hours of game time during the regular season and
within one hour of post-season play. A $50 protest fee is required. The protest must be submitted in writing to the
Conference Commissioner. The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is successful.

Spalding will easily be in top 4 of MIAA this year, Several MIAA schools have different income brackets surrounding them. Still bitter over not getting call to go with the rest of boys, Amazing

There is so much to be said about that comment. Chest pounding over athletics where your kid will stand on the sidelines for 3 years with no thought to academics. Certain Hawks kids go to Spalding and I am suspecting one of the parents typed this. Not all of them, some of them had a lot more options then others.

They will spread out over 6-8 schools. Hopefully all will find the right fit for the next 4 years.

How do you people know what middle schools kids go to?

You know what happens when you assume?

The lacrosse world is small and the moms all gossip

Lots of moving parts this year. Transfers. Boarding students. The top programs definitely got some top kids. But some “bottom tier” programs landed some good ones too.

It appears kids wisely want a chance to make a larger impact.

It will be interesting to see if this trend continues and how it effects the teams/league in the future.We all heard about Spaulding’s young kids for 2-3 years before it impacted the standings.

Kids that go to Spaulding are there for Sports, not academics. Easiest school to get in to academically.

Right private school with uniforms yet the public school across the street has no uniforms and kids go to better colleges from public school than Spalding

Spaulding has officially arrived!

When they can’t hang with you on the field, knock their academics!

BL, Salisbury, St Francis and Villa Stevenson can all sympathize.

The only difference is all those schools won a championship first.

Just wish people would remember..there is more to school than lacrosse. Give the boys a solid foundation to what hopefully is a stepping stone for their future success.

Lacrosse ends, and careers are important.

A student can be successful, no matter what school they come from....but some have better success based on where they were educated.

Lacrosse is life. If you don’t go D1 you are terrible and disappointed me. I should have held you back another year you disappointment. Now we settle for D3 and a solid education. This blows for me as a parent living through my kid.

It is D1 or bust for many. Nothing wrong with that as it is the way to go at elite level. Elite is only for the few who are willing to put in the time. Sorry if you son doesnt have what it takes. And by takes, most of the elite players with a few exceptions are very close in athletic ability, it is what is inside that puts you at a D1 caliber. At this point and grade if your son isnt on the older side on age or heldback , your chances are slim to none to go D1, might want to set your sights on D2 or D3 .

There are so many D2 and D3 rosters that are littered with MIAA alums. There are many D1 rosters with MIAA alums that dont even see the field and there is a small percentage that actually play

There are 4 MIAA grads on Tewaaraton watch list. Yes it's not like the 70-80s when half the team was from NY and the other half from MD. BTW plenty of those 80s high school stars from Baltimore or NY rode pine once the got to college.

There are many D2 and D3 alums because the MIAA puts so many kids in college. Bench players from the 5th best MIAA school are committing to D2. Kids who never see the field are getting to D3.

Of course there are starters from MIAA schools going high D1. Whether or not they play is on the kid and how much they put in at the next level.

People are seeming to rag on the league lately as of it stinks but it’s still top conference top to bottom.

In January of 2022, many D2 and D3 programs were still looking to add 2022s to their recruiting class.

Where MIAA schools make that easier for those D2/D3 programs is that "the product" of "3rd line middie at BL" or "#3 goalie at St. Marys" is well understood by college coaches. They know the kid can hang academically and that he can be coached aggressively. Talent totally aside.

And yes, this is also true for the LI and Westchester County public schools. Colleges know what "Chaminade's #4 defenseman" would look like in any given year.
