[quote=Anonymous]Right, but they did combine clubs which is obviously against the rules. "All players must compete with their team or program on a regular basis. Players cannot be added only to participate in the WSYL and teams cannot be formed out of a partnership or alliance between two or more standalone clubs. The intention of this rule is prevent the formation of all-star teams for the purpose of participating in the WSYL." ETC ETC But that was a recent change, sorry I am late to the party if this has been hashed out already, I was going by what I remembered. https://web.archive.org/web/20201021222405/https://worldseriesofyouthlacrosse.com/rules/ By the skinniest of interpretation, all star teams can be allowed so long as they had open tryouts and the team plays in 2 tournaments. It's definitely not in the spirit of the rules but it should have been cleared. The bigger concern will be if the tournament is even held in the socialist republic of Montgomery County, MD. The county has far more strict covid requirements than anywhere else in the state.

You all have no clue. Emails were sent out to the Club Directors last night to have their teams register for the WSYL Championships.

Maybe 4 people in the organization, but many parents are aware of the Hawks and Tiger Players that are participating in an attempt to not abide by the rules ..so don’t worry Hawks dad , we will help the World Series figure out who’s team participants are not playing within the rules , you would think parents would be doing this , but unfortunately sportsmanship was never taught ..cheating is acceptable 🤦♂️..so embarrassing

The WSYL posted all the Champions and qualifiers on their IG page. So since who keeps posting about rosters and reviews obviously didnt qualify because every kid put it on IG as soon as it hit. Guess those Tigers and Hawks rosters are legit.

Just saying. You all should really just let it go. Assume the loss when you play them knowing they don’t play by the rules. Then let the loss go and move on to the fair games. It’s just not worth the amount of stress you people put into hating a team. You may even enjoy the sport more.

I suspect it is Can you please elaborate on the cheating you have noticed at WSYL. No, I don't care about Black Ops combining a team so leave that out. Let's see what you got.......annnnnd go.

You lose credibility when you start a sentence with “I know a guy who’s cousin”.

I think that the post about the cousin who did the photoshopping was sarcastic; the poster was trying to say that this whole discussion is getting ridiculous. Personally I am not sure what to think. Are there parents so crazy that they are capable of deranged and false accusations? Absolutely. But are there also parents and coaches capable of actually cheating? Unfortunately yes, and I don't blame folks for being infuriated if they see it happening. But if anybody was going to be DQ'd, it would have happened by now, so I do not see this going much further than BOTC.

Another world/national championship? How many are there now? lost count We were one of the teams that was invited to go to this last year. It was a relatively cheap and local tournament against decent competition that would also satisfy the WSYL requirment of playing in 2 tournaments before the championships.
