Wait, so a 10 year old girl is going to go play goalie against a bunch of 10 year old boys, at boys tournaments???? Rather than playing with her YJ team??? What a terrible parenting decision, not surprised though, poor kid. She better eat her Cheetos

I agree, crazy. no sure if there is some family dynamic involved like dad being the coach or brother on the team or something, but yes sounds weird. The girls will be just fine in the goal.

That's a trick question there isn't an A division in Lax by the Sea.

Another parent of the year candidate on a quest to get that verbal commitment to college. BTW you cant commit until 11th grade now so you might want to slow down. And 1 more thing, there is always a place for goalies in the sport so not sure what you are chasing.

What would you consider the competition like at Lax by the Sea? at Laxin out lout? Lax for the Cure? Which is going to be the toughest tourney?

Lax for the Cure always has the best competition. The MD teams come up to play us coming down. Great tournament. The other two are pretty good as well, especially for the younger age groups (2023s and younger). But LFTC is tops, always a great tournament.

What's the probability that this goalie will
continue playing on the boys side? Isn't that clock running out?

Not aware of any family dynamic - just another over the top lax parent who wants more attention for himself. She has been playing with the boys for awhile, in addition to YJ, along with a few other girls on the team.

It's an embarrassment for two reasons:

1. YJ is playing weak tournaments
2. 2023 B team is still beating A



My daughter is on neither, just an observation. I'm also confused as to why a B team girl would have to work harder?? Did'nt they win the Tournament over A?

Just a opinion but at the age of 10 girls and boys should NOT be on same team in any contact sport

Liberty parents not chest thumpers, they have more class than that. However, lots of other people on this site, other than Liberty, that are curious who can, and did beat the YJ, especially when they are thinking about trying out for a team and want the best at a particular age, and at this point, Liberty is the best.

Reading the last three threads made me laugh so hard that everyone said basically the same thing. The slide will only continue. Going back, I recall 2021 A was best in the universe to best in the world to best in North America to best front Long Island , and now in the same conversation as TG and TE!!

Good job. Now Carol Rose will buy all your top players and your daughter will get some actual playing time.

First and foremost, congrats to the Liberty girls on the win, well deserved. I would just remember that they will play again in about six weeks at Nationals. Do you win as many draws next time? Will you get the same amount of possessions from turnovers and the referees? Will six weeks together in the new system with a new coach have YJ in a better place on defense? Will the bench get shorter in these games going forward? For what was a one goal lead and a late goal as YJ was doubling to get the ball back that is not a lot of cushion. Liberty girls no doubt earned that win, should be excited about it, but the parents just might want to remain humble until one win becomes 3-4 in a row....you know that Karma thing can work both ways...

You mean the new coach who didn't even show up for this game? You make it sound like this team was just hobbled together and never played before? Maybe the overly aggressive thug ball style of play just doesn't cut it like it did in 4th and 5th grade? Is it possible other clubs have caught up, are better coached and do a better job of developing talent?

Those days are over. Girls are leaving top YJ teams, not flocking to them. Brand is tarnished, and its reputation is not what it once was. Why would a girl leave a winning team where she is appreciated?

So your assessment is the YJ team played thug ball on Sunday? You are calling those girls thugs? Not sure what game you watched but that is an awfully dis-respectul way to characterize a group of 13-14 year old girls. You have a problem with the coach and owner that is one thing, running down the girls is another. Karma...

Sometimes when people post on this site they say inflammatory things to get everyone fired up against a certain team . Keep in mind that it is very easy to sway people's opinion of a particular club by coming on this website and bragging about how terrific a certain team is for the sole purpose of getting everyone to hate on the team they are bragging about. Until you are required to sign your name to a post take all posts as entertainment because you really can't know who posted them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that team's D needs to get bigger. The defense is the smallest position on that team. They are getting outmuscled and out toughed by the bigger teams now. It's been happening for 2 years. CR needs to look around, there are better options out there. Stop with the favors for the connected daddies that wear the YJ sweatshirts and t-shirts all the time. Time to move on from the D that started on this team for 4 years, better options now exist.

I always laugh when I read someone say that more time with a new coach will equal better results. Have you considered that more time with the new system and coach will equal worse results? Who said the new coach and system (= thug ball) is better? I say YOU should not count your chickens before they're hatched. Like you said...Karma can work both ways.
