Go Recon! Boys had a blast last season. See you in October .
Thanks as it was a great summer season with Recon!!!!
Just so everyone knows the Fee for Recon Lacrosse is $1,000 for the Summer Tournament Year!
Watched the U-13 team play at lehigh v a Connecticut team . They looked pretty good. How long have they been playing together and are the open spots on that team?
Last year was the first year for the U-13 level on Recon. All returning players will have to tryout again, so I would assume all spots are open.

The answer is all spots are open for Recon during the tryout.
The Recon October 28th U17 Team tryouts will start at 7:30 pm not at 6:30 pm. Please note the time change. We will start registration at 7:30 and the tryout will kick off at 8:00 pm.

Thank you!
Heard good things about this program.....can anyone comment as I see they do alot of community service with their players?
Lots of community service opportunities for players on Recon. Teams were competitive last Summer .

BOTC has worked with Harry Jacobs and Steve Jacobs on several initiatives from Recon to the LIMLF. The Recon program is professional and respectful of the players. There is a tradition here of building character amongst the teams in addition to lacrosse skills.

Some of our readers might recall a BOTC Newsletter feature article covering the Recon program earlier this year and their placement of flags on local gravesites of deceased war veterans.
Recon Lacrosse players recently helped with clean up and maintenance of the LIMLF 9/11 Memorial at Farmingdale College.
Recon Tryouts for U11 & U13 are next week October 14th so get ready and YES we will accept Walk -Ups.
Love your ideals. We are considering our son trying out for u15. How did the team do last year at tournaments? Do you do any spring ball?
The U15 team did very well with an 18-10 records. They played in the A bracket and B+ brackets all year long. All games that they lost were all close last year.
IMPORTANT FOR GOALIES......ALL GOALIES TRYOUT FOR FREE AT THE RECON LACROSSE TRYOUTS!!!!

Does that group have both 4th and 5th graders?
U-11 is comprised of both 4th & 5th grade.

Is there a reason that they don't do single grade teams like the large majority of travel groups?
They follow US lacrosse guidelines
Copy that on the class act. Directors spoke to the parents, encouraged everyone to watch from wherever they felt comfortable, and assured us that all spots were open and everyone from last year had to try out again and make the team.

Lots of talent on the field too.

No 1-on-1s or 2-on-1s ... some line drills and then on to half-field and full-field scrimmages. Several evaluators out there with boards taking notes the whole time. As well run as any other tryout I've seen.

And when it was over there were Recon coaches/evaluators (not sure who is who) at the gate thanking the boys for coming down and shaking hands. A simple thing, but left a good impression on us.
They follow the guidelines and are a newer program.

At these young ages those kids who shake your hands are the ones to remember.

At these vents those directors that shake your hands are ones to respect
